About 2-3 people in it. It's a small store. You are paying for convenience (prices are a bit higher) because most other stores in the immediate area by foot are closed by this time / there's not a ton of competition. It's not the cleanest of stores and if you get anything that is not prepackaged, good luck to your gut because it doesn't scream the cleanest place ever. I got a few things - gatorade, candy, chips and it came out to 20 bucks. Staff is okay. Felt like they were staring me down. When I got to the registered they greeted me which is the bare minimum but felt like it was the best I was going to get. So I'll give them a half a star for that. Place is organized a bit weird. I could find items in the most random of places. Best to come here if you want one or two items.

Cheese case is like Rue Cler, Paris--so much selection and they will tell you about each one of them. Don't be afraid to just ask a lot of questions. I wish that they did some little items in the bakery, one of my fondest memories from childhood was going to Pastaworks with my dad and getting a breadstick, probably eating it before we even paid (we did), as we strolled around, and where's the peanut sauce for pasta, another favorite of the old days, yup, I'm old. Can't say enough good things about this place, it can add up though as others have mentioned, but, if you keep to a list or just slow the roll on the impulse buy, it's actually reasonable and you know you're getting what you're paying for. I have gotten sick from their seafood twice (they are always happy to give a refund, but somehow…read morethis seems inadequate after two nights of aching nausea). I recently suggested a friend get some grab and go there because she was in the area and only had a few minutes. She said she would not be doing that because she had gotten sick off their prepared food a few times (she did not mention seafood). Recently I bought some chocolate and it was nearly expired, had bloom, and did not have a good texture. While this is not a risk to my health, it's annoying! this place is so expensive and they can't seem to turn over food quickly enough to keep it fresh. The customer service is totally fine.

I would love to host a private party in this well appointed space, and aspire to do so very soon. The store itself is nice and the displays are very well designed. The staff is always incredibly friendly and the service is outstanding. Prices are a bit high for regular groceries but the experience is so worth it. The bagger was also side tracked by the other co workers and didn't help me bag at all. Maybe split them apart next time. Annoying as hell.
