I personally love the owner Jim Lee- A1 miracle worker. This is the second wedding that I'm going to where he turns my dress into a BEAUTIFUL gown. He was able to produce miracles with his sewing machine. I'm leaving the country in less than two days and I just gave him a new long gown to hem this morning. Last minutes dresses - this is your man. He's amazing and I couldn't speak better about him. He's the greatest! I love this place, its atmosphere, the friendly staff. There is always a problem. Either they can't deliver, or your shirts come back with stains, or you show up at 8am (when they claim they open) but nobody shows until 830, or they brake your laundry bag which they've now done twice! Would not recommend going here to anyone! Awful service! read more

Frustrating Delivery/Pickup service! The first time I used them I had to call once (after an hour) to remind them to come pickup my clothes. Same thing happened on delivery. Today I have called twice, its been 2hrs since I first called for them to pickup my clothes and they are still not here. I live 3 blocks away. I don't understand this business they are running. Avoid, unless you want to stay at home all day waiting by the door like a stranded puppy. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CLEANING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT USE! I took my laundry to them for the first time. $40 worth of laundry. They gave me back one of my new white shirts with blue stains all over it. They redid it and stretched it out in all the areas where they had created stains in the first place. They did not get all the stains out and the shirt is ruined. When I went to pick it up for the second time they couldn't find it and when they finally did the owner proceeds to tell me all it needs is some pressing. He then ridicules me in a very condescending way asking how long have I been doing laundry and offers no help to fix the shirt that they ruined in the first place. He's a very rude man and so are the staff. Never going back there! read more

I'm not particularly sure why this cleaners has anything less than 4 Stars. I've used it multiples times throughout the year for dry cleaning work suits and for their wash and fold services, and have literally no complaints. I usually do about 14lbs of wash and fold and it amounts to $14.50-15.50 on average, which is average for the area but ridiculously affordable considering it's prime location on 67 and third (closer to third). The dry cleaning is priced very well also. I work in queens and even the dry cleaners out there can't beat the pricing of this manhattan dry cleaners. I usually get my wash and fold back within 1-2 days and they're very efficient with the transaction. I could not be happier with their service and pricing, also keeping in mind the very accessible location. read more

Being new to neighborhood and no laundry facilities in building I was left feeling a little nervous having someone else do my laundry but laundry needed to be done as I was cleaning entire apartment. I called Todd Layne after a recommendation from a good friend but the guy on the phone was rude and so I took my business elsewhere. Did a quick search and found Jimmy Lee Laundry. After speaking with Ester, my laundry was picked up within the hour and I was left waiting to find out what my clothes were going to turn out like. I was very impressed although I forgot to ask for unperfumed laundry detergent but my skin was fine. They are really nice people to deal with, especially in Manhattan although they won't make idyl conversation. Most times I call them, Ester is the one who picks up and she is very pleasant person. The service is quick, they are a good network of people there and I do recommend that you go to get your laundry cleaned at Jimmy Lee's. been using this cleaner for 20 years. service very good, usually accommodating. not particularly interested in "friendly" since they pick up and deliver cleaning so interaction very little. occasionally the clothes will still have stains on them as will shirts. i don't think this is unusual. if you don't want to pay top price, i believe this is a common occurrence with cleaners everywhere. they will always take back the item, all stains will be removed and returned within a reasonable time frame. if not requested sooner, delivery could take a week. read more

My old laundry place was great, but just informed me that my apt was too far for them to pick up any more. So, I searched for some place closer and came upon Jim Lee. I called them at 9:22am and someone came by with a cart about 30 minutes later. By 4:26pm I called and my laundry was done. They dropped it off 20 minutes later. I was so happy that they brought it up five flights of stairs and they were willing to accommodate me when I asked for bleach and non-perfumed detergent/softener. Can't beat 75 cents a pound. I've been using Jim Lee Cleaners for my weekly laundry and dry cleaning for the last year. They're fantastic. They have an excellent phone manner, reliable delivery (mostly), and I've never had any issues with missing laundry (though I did once receive a toddler's camouflage shorts with my stuff). After using Jim Lee for years and understanding a pillow case can get lost or sheet ripped, or using their tailor for alterations and having a few things destroyed. I was shocked when I caught them blatantly lie about ruining my clothing. I always sent a bag which inside would be a plastic bag of dry cleaning, a plastic bag of shirts for press and box, a bag for sheets which were pressed and folded and the laundry. I was missing my favourite dress, they denied having it. The belt was in the hangar, and I am extremely organized plus I had worn it,we all take photos these days. It went over in a bag that had 3 shirts in a bag, Am Hermès sweater and this designer dress, a designer silk off the shoulder blouse, in another, sheets and the laundry. When receiving it back, the Hermès sweater bagged to be dry cleaners, the shirts bagged to be pressed, were all folded and returned as if they were washed and folded. The Hermès sweater destroyed, but apparently not as badly as the silk designer dress and top which was not returned. Instead of admitting the error, they denied ever having it. This after some 20 years of business. It was clearly a mistake. The lie and deflect is not. To boot they had another few items which were not returned. It was disgusting and foul behavior. I already have two people who had bad experiences offering me photos of destroyed garments, if you have any, please contact me. With the lie they created, am sure they have stolen from others. The prices are cheap but there is a reason, and there are others in the neighborhood, who pick up and deliver, that are much cleaner and organized...and do the sheets at the same price or even less as well. Just write to me. Have been using then for six months already and it's so much more civil. Again, had the apologized it would be one thing, but David lied and had Esther lie as well. This is the role model of the store. And again, there were many other issues, I passed over due to a long term relationship...apparently there was no reciprocal loyalty. read more

Jim Lee is usually a place where I could go for laundry service, but after a set of recent events I would think twice before using them. I've taken a comforter in to get dry cleaned before and they washed and ruined it. I routinely get other peoples clothes in my wash and fold which i drop off. I've also had issues getting stuff back when it was supposed to, often times having to go into the store to find out where it is only to learn it still hasnt been done. I have been using Jim Lee Cleaners for over two years, since the cleaners in our bldg. raised its prices, and I've never had anything but GREAT service. My husband routinely drops our laundry off at Jim Lee on Sat. morning and we always get it back on Monday. The staff has always been friendly and accomodating, which is not always the case at a local cleaner. I am so satisfied with their service that for an upcoming photo shoot, where I need 14 pairs of mens pants hemmed to a 29 inch inseam, I brought them in without hesitation, knowing I will get the same great service I get for my personal stuff. The people who posted negative reviews may have had one bad experience and needed to vent, I guess, because in over two years, my husband and I have never even thought about going anywhere else. My frustration resides with the misguided expectation of a business taking ownership of their mistake and going above and beyond to satisfy a loyal customer, As promises of follow up calls from the business were never received, I had to pursue them for answers every couple of days. When I gave them options (60% of shirts's total value, they offered a credit-which i agreed to but credit would then have to be full price value of shirts--- i would accept either giving them their choice discounted cash price or full price credit), they never responded ), With the the due date approaching they finally found the shirts, they informed 'sometimes maids put shirts in closets and owners take 3 weeks to realize their shirts are not theirs'. When I went to picked up the shirts, i asked how much i owed, Now a good business owner would have comped me the cleaning cost for the aggravation...Not these folks, they took my ten dollars, 10 bucks would not have made/break either of us, but their goodwill gesture would have kept me as a customer. moving on read more
