Theres not too many options at the Memphis Airport , so I opted for Nellys. But if you can, eat before you come or get something from the market next door. I ordered a regular hot dog, and a side of fries. The regular hot dog tasted like it was cooked, recooked, and recooked again. It had a leathery texture and was not moist at all. The bread was super dry and flakey. When I picked up my hot dog and bun the bun instantly broke in half and crumbled at the end. The fries were okay, if you like undercooked soggy fries. They are a medium thickness. I like a good mixture of soft and some crunchy fries and I did not receive that.

1/2 slab of ribs + small wings

Food options at MEM are simply atrocious, and sadly, I travel through there all the time. Since I like to have a glass of wine with my meal, there's literally only one option in Terminal C (Home Team Sports; 1-star Yelp venue). On my way home Friday, I. Simply. Could. Not. Go. There. Again! Since some of the locals I talked to in Arkansas suggested it, I thought I'd try Neely's at the airport. I should say strike three, but it's probably more like, strike twelve, Memphis International Airport. Wait staff are in no rush to do anything and seem indifferent about your presence. I wanted to try the wings and ribs, but there was no combo that would allow. So I ordered a small wings and 1/2 slab of ribs plate. Wings were decent although they had a salt heavy dry rub on 'em. The ribs were...not good. Fall off the bone, yes, but not in a good way. So overcooked the meat felt like a mealy apple in my mouth. While I feel like I ordered too much food (see picture), my bill only came to $24. I was full, although my palette was definitely not satisfied. Thankfully there is a new grab-in-go bar at the end of the terminal where I could wash away the flavor with some wine.

I want to go to the main location, but every time I am in Memphis at the airport this is a must. I always get the combination platter with Ribs and chopped pork. Service is spot on and if I didn't see planes I'd think I wasn't in an airport. This is not your typical airport food!! Mouth watering tangy bbq sauce! You can actually get frozen stuff to fly back with. (Next time) I may have ate so much that I had to loosen up the belt for the flight home.

Excellent Brisket! And not a rip off!

Flawless Brisket and excellent BBQ Sauce - I don't smother it like most people do, I add the sauce as I eat it. The meat was lean and the price was excellent! I love the Cashier too! She is very nice - I see her whenever I come through the airport. I am not a big fan of red meat, but when I eat it, it has to be very good and lean! THIS IS BOTH!

Dried out dehydrated ribs on the bone. The bone is easier to eat.

DO NOT EAT HERE! EVER! If your hungry and it's the only thing open, drink some water and go hungry. It's that bad! I ordered the ribs and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. They only had three tables so we had to get it to go and ate it in the terminal. The ribs (see attached pic) were so overcooked there was no moisture in them at all. Like eating leather. When things are this overcooked there is not taste left. My wife's sandwich was better except that there was pieces of bone mixed into the meat. I know you throw the dice with food in an airport , but this may be the worst airport food ever in the history of aviation.

This was the worst experience I have ever encountered at an establishment!! Stephanie M needs retraining on how to treat customer that are buying from this establishment! She was rude to everyone in line. Her barking at your customers is just down right rude and insulting. The minute we walked in she had an attitude with all customer. She didn't have her mask on right was on her chin and would scream at you if you dare asked for anything. If this wasn't the only place open on this concourse I wouldn't come back again. I fly often and this was down right awful customer service ! If I see her working I will not be coming in!

Half slab dinner with slaw and potato salad

I knew BBQ in an airport that looked like a ghost town was going to be risky. But I was hungry and decided to give it a try. The chairs on the inside has been moved to the side but there was seating outside the store. It looked kind of dirty to be honest with you. I don't think anyone had been to clean the area for a long while. As for the food, honestly I didn't care for the ribs. I ordered a half rack and they were all dry and tough. The tangy bbq sauce, which I didnt care for flavor wise and that the ribs were covered with, didn't help. The flies really liked the ribs though. Like how did these flies get this far into the airport? One even managed to climb all the way into the little bag where I was putting the bones. Amazing. The slaw had a weird aftertaste. I can't really describe it. After a few more bites I think I got use to it and didn't mind it as much. The 2 pieces of white bread they give, seemed fresh. And the potato salad was ok. Nothing to write home about. But ok. In terminal C there aren't many food options. The other place that was open looked equally dismal.

There was a time when Central barbecue was the only place I would eat barbecue in Memphis. But food…read moreand service has ruined that. I visited the downtown location on 5/24/26 at 6:15 PM. I ordered wings and two dry slabs of ribs. When my family and I finally decided to eat the ribs on Monday, they were disgusting. They had seasoning caked all on them, and they were overly salty. We wiped off the caked-on seasoning and tried to eat around the saltiness. I was praying the 2nd slab was not the same. When I opened them on 5/27 to see, they were the same. I was trying to avoid calling because I just didn't feel like being bothered. But I called. I left a message for the manager to return my call that morning because "he is in the middle of an interview." So I called back that afternoon and was transferred to Ethan. I explained the situation to him. As I was speaking, he kept making the noise un-huh. So, I stopped talking and asked him what it meant aside from it just being rude as hell. He went on to explain that they missed a step and did not rub in the seasoning and shake it off. I don't care. It's an internal quality issue that should be handled with the prep and cook staff. Not me. He asked if I had my receipt and, in a tone that suggested he was doing me a favor, advised me that he would replace the slab. No apologies for the inconvenience or anything.   After my long workday, I went all the way downtown to get the slab replaced. In person, Ethan is just as rude. I asked if he was going to replace both slabs. He could clearly see the quality was trash. He said no and that he would only replace one. Then went on to offer me sides and a slice of cake. No, thank you. I can afford sides and cake just like I did those trash slabs of ribs. Those slabs of ribs cost $62.40 before taxes. With taxes probably being another 5 or 6 dollars. Your mistakes and poor quality should not cost me. He had a young lady bring the replacement slab back out to me. She didn't say thank you or anything. One thing I know is that a white man or woman patronizing your business would not have been treated this way. As a result, moving forward I will spend my Black woman dollars elsewhere on barbeque and smoked chicken wings. Also, I removed you all from my company's approved catering list where we spend a nice amount with you all yearly. Tell Ethan, thanks for helping me see the light and not spend money where I'm not respected and where my customer experience isn't valued.

There is plenty of parking in a lot across the street. We went inside and found it to be pretty busy, but we got a table for 4 quickly. The place was clean and homey-feeling and I loved the fact that they used disposable plates, utensils and napkins! It is probably way easier on the crew to clean up, and it adds to the relaxed atmosphere. I had the corn nuggets to start, yum! We finished them easily, they were so good. Then the entree of my chicken tenders, beans, and Mac and cheese came out, along with my sweet tea. The sweet tea was perfect, I drank a whole one during my meal and they gave me another to go in the souvenir Gus's cup. The food was just great, chicken was juicy and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Beans and Mac and cheese, delicious! I ate all of it even though I was stuffed. I even went so far as to order a piece of pecan pie for dessert, but unfortunately our server came back out to tell us they were out of it! Guess it wasn't meant to be (this time)! Our server was really friendly during our whole meal, chatted with us a little and made sure we had a great experience! Bottom line.... Go to Gus's!

Brisket Combo $27 comes atop bread, it was very soft in texture, oily, vs my preferred slab of smoked beef with grainy texture intact. The crispy burnt ends were delish tho accompanied by a rack with about 1/3? less ribs. Ribs $27.50 Lg order became more meaty as I made way to small end and leftovers tasted even better next day. Dry rub is excellent black pepper, onion garlic, baked beans tangy n bit sweet, while the BBQ sauce, Hot and Regular in squeeze bottles, along with a mustard yellow coleslaw in deep plastic solos, were more vinegar forward than I recall. It definitely gave me a pucker and took me to almost end of first sitting to acclimate to that level of tang.
