    Sweet tea
    Gail U.

Doc enjoyed her 6 slabs. Hubs had 2 slabs, Cole slaw and corn on the cob. I had the three wings cuz that was the smallest plate, Cole slaw and bbq spaghetti. They also got me a sweet tea I wanted to try and split 3 different kinds of cake squares. It was a good choice for lunch in Memphis. Now on to Nashville.

Bologna, spaghetti, coleslaw - all good!

I'm continuing to taste what the people are raving about and this place is legit, especially compared to the bbq I had before this one. Ok, I don't like bologna, but I had to try this because, who does this?!? Bbq'ing a chunk of bologna...man this was so delicious. Along the other lines of who does this...bbq spaghetti? I'm from Texas, and we don't. This was also decent. Lastly, my coleslaw was good, I'm trying to figure out what I'm tasting in here, but cannot pin it, very good. Ok, so hubby got the 2 n 2, and I hijacked his fries, cuz they were super fresh & tasty. His meat was very good, the smoke was A1. Dining room staff-cool! Overall, 10 all day!!

Easy ordering process and the place has a very organized way of getting your order with a shout of your name at the end. Sauce is really good on both the ribs and chicken that I had. However, the food temperature was slightly off meaning warm and not hot. There's plenty of space in the facility to sit and enjoy your food. Restrooms are quite tiny. This is definitely a Memphis staple where also a new dessert spot opened across the street for after. Table guys are the best with customer service too!

    Rib tips & ribs!

A real Memphis experience! Enjoyed being around local diners. The BBQ was excellent, well priced and plenty. Highly recommend!

Could this be the coziest corner in the entire South? I wouldn't be surprised. The best ribs, addictive sweet tea, and attentive service make this spot a must eat. I ordered multiple things including the potato salad, bbq spaghetti, ribs, and rib tips. Everything is well made, but nothing else holds a candle to the ribs. Don't worry about what else you order as long as they're included. The ribs are completely tender but maintain a satisfying chew. They are also seasoned and sauced with evident smokiness. In addition to great food, every employee was dedicated to great service. We never went more than 5 minutes without someone checking in us - at a counter service restaurant! It's a very informal space, but couldn't be more welcoming.

1st timer here I've heard so many good things about Cozy Corner that my family and I decided to try the experience. When I tell you all three of us kept our head down the whole meal and desert; yep that's how much we enjoyed the whole experience. We had one hang up and I know restaurants these days have to cook with light season and that's what the barbecue spaghetti tasted like slightly bland other than that everything else was delish. The dining room attendant was awesome not only was the area clean he was attentive to our needs as well beautiful experience.

We went to the cozy corner while in Memphis on a trip. The staff was super nice. We got the 2 bone rib plate with bbq beans and potato salad and the beef bbq nachos. I love some ribs and I thought these were done really well. I thought both sides were good too! The bbq beef nachos could have used some bbq sauce which we did add and I thought they turned out pretty decent. We both got tea and it was definitely sweetened to my liking! My only note was the floor was a bit sticky where we sat but overall a pretty solid meal if you are in the area. 4/5

I took my time coming here since I moved to Memphis because some of the places that get all of the Good Press and Reviews are not worth the hype, in my opinion. Boy was I wrong about this place! I can't believe it took me this long to try this delicious food. First of all this place has been here since the 1970's and is a Memphis Staple. In 2020 Desiree Robinson the Co Founder and Pit Master was inducted into the Barbecue Hall of Fame and was the First Black Female to be honored. The restaurant is not fancy, just good food with plenty of seating if you care to dine in. They had an Oxtail Special the day I stopped in along with the usual barbecue offerings and desserts. It was hard to decide what to try, I really wanted to order the Cornish Hen but settled on Rib Plate and a Rib Tip plate with Barbecue Spaghetti, slaw, baked beans and fries. It smelled so good driving back home I almost pulled over on the side of the road. Anyhow I made it home and plated my food and words can't describe how good it was. It's not too smoky or too sweet, no burnt taste, the season blend is not overpowering the meat. It's cooked to perfection even the tips were delicious and you can tell a lot of care went into everything I had. I even enjoyed the barbecue spaghetti! This is Top Notch Barbecue and deserves every award and honor bestowed upon them! I really want to go get some right now!! I almost forgot to mention the season blend was very unique,I'm not sure what's in it but it's special. I did order the ribs without sauce so I could taste the meat. Go get you some!

If you like sauce and a sometime feel - Cozy Corner is the place to go! I came with a group of people at around 11:30am to snag a large table. You order at the front and they will call your name when it's ready. I got the 2 ribs and 2 wings plate with medium sauce. The sauce has just enough zing to it. It was enough for a great lunch meal. I definitely want to try the burnt ends next time. Caramel cake is super good too! Overall, service was quick and gave me a homey vibe. This wasn't my favorite bbq spot, but an experience to try!

TL;DR: better than Rendezvous Came on a recommendation from the hotel staff and not disappointed Ordered: 2 ribs 2 wings (5/5): Cozy Corner lives up to the Memphis BBQ expectations. Can really taste the smoke and flavor in each bite. Tender ribs and juicy wings. Fries were good but the cole slaw was a little forgettable Come here. Skip Rendezvous. Cheers, Cozy Corner!

Very disappointing experience here. I had high hopes. Service was pretty bad. Cashier was very rude. Wings were super dry. Ribs were overcooked, chewy. Didn't really enjoy anything I ordered. This is supposed to be the BBQ that rivals Texas?! Whew! @nickeatzworld on IG and TikTok

One word. Delicious. The meat is tender and smoked to perfection. Could use a bit more meat on the sandwich but otherwise it was good! Service: Memphis finest Ambiance: super casual

This location is a large building with lots of seating options. I had to try Central as it keeps winning awards and is consistently mentioned as the top BBQ place in the Memphis area. Some of their awards were displayed at the entrance and on the walls. Lots of history. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich and had the slaw on the side so I could have it (she's not a slaw fan). I had the small order of ribs with 1/2 dry and 1/2 wet with sides of BBQ Beans and Mac n Cheese. I tried the pulled pork and it was tender and delicious. My ribs were pretty good with my favorite part being the wet ribs. The dry part was overcooked and really dry and chewy. This was a bit of a disappointment. The BBQ beans were flavorful but a bit mushy. The Mac n cheese also mushy a bit but tasted better than it looked. I love great BBQ so I like Central BBQ but may have caught them on a bad day. Oh, they were out of a lot of T Shirt options/size I wanted too. Darn. I wanted to buy one. I would return and try the brisket, pulled pork or poultry items next time.

There was a time when Central barbecue was the only place I would eat barbecue in Memphis. But food…read moreand service has ruined that. I visited the downtown location on 5/24/26 at 6:15 PM. I ordered wings and two dry slabs of ribs. When my family and I finally decided to eat the ribs on Monday, they were disgusting. They had seasoning caked all on them, and they were overly salty. We wiped off the caked-on seasoning and tried to eat around the saltiness. I was praying the 2nd slab was not the same. When I opened them on 5/27 to see, they were the same. I was trying to avoid calling because I just didn't feel like being bothered. But I called. I left a message for the manager to return my call that morning because "he is in the middle of an interview." So I called back that afternoon and was transferred to Ethan. I explained the situation to him. As I was speaking, he kept making the noise un-huh. So, I stopped talking and asked him what it meant aside from it just being rude as hell. He went on to explain that they missed a step and did not rub in the seasoning and shake it off. I don't care. It's an internal quality issue that should be handled with the prep and cook staff. Not me. He asked if I had my receipt and, in a tone that suggested he was doing me a favor, advised me that he would replace the slab. No apologies for the inconvenience or anything.   After my long workday, I went all the way downtown to get the slab replaced. In person, Ethan is just as rude. I asked if he was going to replace both slabs. He could clearly see the quality was trash. He said no and that he would only replace one. Then went on to offer me sides and a slice of cake. No, thank you. I can afford sides and cake just like I did those trash slabs of ribs. Those slabs of ribs cost $62.40 before taxes. With taxes probably being another 5 or 6 dollars. Your mistakes and poor quality should not cost me. He had a young lady bring the replacement slab back out to me. She didn't say thank you or anything. One thing I know is that a white man or woman patronizing your business would not have been treated this way. As a result, moving forward I will spend my Black woman dollars elsewhere on barbeque and smoked chicken wings. Also, I removed you all from my company's approved catering list where we spend a nice amount with you all yearly. Tell Ethan, thanks for helping me see the light and not spend money where I'm not respected and where my customer experience isn't valued.

It is probably way easier on the crew to clean up, and it adds to the relaxed atmosphere. I had the corn nuggets to start, yum! We finished them easily, they were so good. Then the entree of my chicken tenders, beans, and Mac and cheese came out, along with my sweet tea. The sweet tea was perfect, I drank a whole one during my meal and they gave me another to go in the souvenir Gus's cup. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, making it a comfortable spot to grab a bite. I wasn't really a fan of the mac and cheese, as it leaned way too heavily on the processed cheese flavor and ended up overly cheesy in a not-so-great way. The texture and taste reminded me more of melted processed cheese than a rich, homemade mac and cheese. However, the service was delightful and easily made up for some of the disappointment with the sides. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the visit. While not everything hit the mark for me, the great service and tasty fried chicken make Gus's worth trying if you're in the mood for comfort food.
