So this review is solely on the two leftover tacos my hubby brought home to me. There is something almost strangely comforting to me now about a basic Jimboys taco. I've been in Sacramento over 15 years and this taco is NOTHING like the tacos of my youth in So Cal but.... I think it's that outside cheese on the tortilla. Or maybe the crisp lettuce inside. It's no easy task finding some place to get our granddaughter to eat. We have always enjoyed Jimboy's Tacos and now we have even more of a reason to eat here. Apparently, the chicken-bean-cheese burrito is just the right flavor profile for the 3 year old crowd. We really enjoy the chicken tacos, as well as the fish tacos. The taco salad is a favorite of mine. The casual dining lends itself to little ones to top things off. read more

Just stopped in for two taco's to go. Can't go wrong here to satisfy a taco craving on Taco Tuesday. I believe it's approximately a 10% discount on Tuesday. The ground beef tacos are legendary, and very good with Parmesan cheese and lettuce. It's the meat that gives the great flavor, but be prepared for for the grease that comes with the flavor. The service at this location is great. Plus there's enough parking that is shared with other businesses around. My taco craving is handled. read more

There's just something about Jimboy's tacos that I cannot resist! While they are most definitely not authentic, they're unique and very tasty. I love their original ground beef taco and they make a yummy bean burrito. I like that they grill the outside so that the tortilla gets nice and toasty. Lastly, I LOVE their taco sauce. So much that I wish you could buy it in a bottle! This is the location I stop at most frequently since I like the shopping center nearby. It's convenient for me and very clean and well kept. Came here tonight with my family around 6pm. There was 12 of us. Spent $70 on just 4 of the 12 people.. Wen we received our food i got a combo burrito and the beans were less then Luke warm. I didn't want to hassle with it or try to complain so I ate it. Everyone in the family agreed our beans werent even warm, the taste wasnt there. , and we wouldn't be coming back. My aunt went up to complain about her plate due to the beans and she ended up asking for a refund which they gave her. The customer service was nothing to remember. The only thing that tasted good were the tacos. This doesn't taste like the real Jimboys. I worked for Jimboys for a year many years ago and this has to be the least authentic tasting one. I order to go most of the time. But I would like to have my lunch or dinner here too. The parking lot is a little too tiny. Sometimes, it is tough to find a parking spot. Jimboy's Chicken Taco used to be my favorite but they changed out the classic chicken taco to grilled chicken and I am not really feeling it ! I recently moved back to Sacramento after being away for 10 years and I was excited to go to Jimboy's, however since they discontinued the ground beef poppers , along with the changes to the chicken taco.. this unfortunately is no longer my favorite taco place in the valley ! The customer service was average at this location and the lobby could have used a little cleaning...but hey it's fast food! Would I go back to Jimboy's? probably not ! I haven't been in a couple of years to this location. It was always my favorite. I was just treated like garbage for no reason at all. I am never disrespectful and I am soft spoken. I only asked if they had breakfast. The snarky comment about never having it and this isn't Taco Bell was uncalled for. He was rude for no reason at all. I've never walked out of any establishment. I did for the first time. I honestly just stood there confused. He spoke to me as if I were trash and I wasn't rude at all. I said ok no problem and I left. My first visit was a few weeks ago and it went fine. I ordered the street fries and they were so tasty! I just wish they did shredded cheese on those instead of the nacho cheese, but that's just personal preference. The nacho cheese just made it too soggy. My second visit was this evening, when I ordered a Chicken Bacon Avocado salad on the Jimboys app. I arrived 15 minutes early than my scheduled pickup time but I was prepared to wait. When I showed up, they were just finishing up my salad. Does that mean it would've just been sitting there for 15 minutes, had I not shown up early? Once I got home I opened up my salad to start eating. It looked great! Then I realized they didn't even include the avocado ranch that I selected on the app. At least they included the guacamole that costed an extra dollar. As I continued eating, I noticed there was still avocado skin on one of the slices! Who knows how dirty that outer skin could be. After picking up sandbags for another storm we stopped at the Jimboys on Laguna Blvd. I ordered 2 beef tacos, a carnitas taco & fries. As usual they were hot, fresh & yummy. The fries were fresh & so hot I had to let them cook off. The service was fair, staff aren't overly friendly but pleasant. They don't take Apple Pay so I had to have my hubby come in from the car to pay. We originally ordered to go but since he came inside we decided to sit & eat. Wandered into this Jimboy's location about a week ago after avoiding the chain for the last couple years after a bad-food experience at another location. The staff was very low-energy and indifferent. IIRC the staffer out front was texting on her phone at the counter before we ordered. My wife and I ended up ordering a taco meal, a rotating special taco, and taquitos. A few minutes later, a bag came out and the order was ready. I've developed a habit of asking "is this everything?" before leaving, and I was told it was. It seemed light, so when we got back to the car, we double checked and indeed we were missing my order. Went back inside immediately, and explained we're missing the special. The front-of-house employee looked though the bag and didn't say a word to me. She went to the kitchen and got the other employee's attention (she had earphones in), and asked if the special was in the bag. They both said "yeah, it was in there." Obviously, it was not. Anyway, the cook ended up finding the rest of our order sitting on a counter in the back somewhere, and handed it over. No apology or explanation. Don't know how you can decisively tell someone you put the order in the bag without even looking for it right next to your station. The food itself was a solid "fine," except the cup of "cheese," which was pretty plastic-like. The sort of "cheese" that gets a shine, and doesn't coat anything. In the end, for fast tacos we consistently get a better product and service from the nearby Del Taco or Taco Bell, and you don't need to deal with the awful parking lot location. Getting out of this location and going west is at least one U-Turn crossing 4 lanes of traffic, or two turns if you head south from the other end of the lot. read more

My boyfriend went into Jimboy's where he placed a order for two ground beef tacos and two ground beef burritos. The amount of grease coming through the bag was shocking (photo enclosed) The two tacos had very little lettuce and barely any cheese the meat was so greasy and horribly salty this also applied for the burritos. My boyfriend informed me (there was no one else in the restaurant) that he had to inquire if the order on the pickup counter was his. The cashier was standing against the register and appeared in a daze. He asked 'again' if that was his order finally she snapped out of her daze and she fumbled putting his order in the bag. Food is great. The young man who greeted me was very nice. However, when There was a young lady sitting down, who did not ge tip to help me when I got there. I waited and a young man came out to help me. I smiled at the young lady, she just starred at me. She did not smile back. I had a big order of food and asked the man if I could take the rest of the taco sauce that was left in a bin by the register. the young man said "of course." I dumped the rest of the sauce that was left into my bag. As I was leaving, the young lady said "that lady just took all the sauce?" I over heard her and said "we'll I hope that's ok." The young man kindly responded to the young lady "I told her she can." I just spent over $50 on food and expect to get the sauce I need for my food. Given there is only 3cc in each in each sauce pack, I expect to get the ratio I need for the amount of food I got. I did not appreciate a this young lady who did not care to get up and help me to first off not smile at me when I clearly made eye contact and smiled at her. Since falling in love with Jimboy's Taco, I've been visiting more of their locations. I ordered my three usual beef tacos and unfortunately was totally disappointed. First of there was no grated cheese on the outside. I kind of look forward to that. Secondly, they had indeed put cheese on the inside but that made it a runny mess. Thirdly, the shells were soggy and miserable. Who knows if there is a corporate standard how to prepare the tacos. If there is one, they "ain't" following it. This is my fourth location and it the first one which doesn't follow the method... Finally, I informed the person behind the counter that the cherry coke fountain was watery thus out, she couldn't care less. Oh well, on the the next store. I have to say this is the best Jimboy's I have been to in Sacramento. I've gone to all the locations from Arden, Rancho Cordova and Elk Grove. This one has ALL of the sauces laid out. Other locations may not even carry the hot hot sauce. The place is neat 95% of the time and food comes out fast. I love their beef tacos and their rice with the sauce on top. Reasonably priced. Service is always great when I go. The restaurant is big enough to feel like you're not contained like the Rancho Cordova location. No drive-thru but I rather sit in and eat the food while it's warm and fresh :) read more

Jimboys is a far cry from the yummy place it used to be, even just one year ago. They replace Mexican style queso with gross cheap American cheese. I ordered three Monterey Jack quesadillas for myself and a plain bean and beef burrito with a side of beans and rice for my dad... the total was $30!!!! That's rounding down by the way... The cashier was friendly enough, but pretty incompetent. This was the last food spot in Sacramento that I missed visiting. Now... there's nothing good to eat here worth a trip from New York. If you're looking for a very commercialized Mexican food place that actually has very tasty food, then you should try this place. I've never had a taco with The taco shell sprinkled with a Parmesan cheese on the outside, I have to tell you it's a pretty good idea because it is pretty tasty. The pricing here in my Opinion is overpriced, and they should look into it more economic menu for people on a tighter budget. The restaurant itself is actually located in a strip mall that is very nice, the restaurant inside is very clean even though it does smell like someone's been cleaning the floors with a dirty string mop. Kind of a turn off if you have sensitive nose. The restrooms are clean, the dining area is clean. There is a TV to watch with no sound. At least there was no sound when I was there. The front counter help, they are fairly nice but seem to kind of go through the motions so nothing extravagant as far as making sure you're welcome there.
