Went into the new restaurant in Elk Grove with high expectations! I was so excited to try this place, so I'm sorry this review isn't what I expected it to be. Decor is beautiful and clean. Went during a lunch rush. There wasn't much service besides being handed your food, you're not checked on and you clean up after yourself. Dispose of plates into garbage bin and plates into the bin ontop. It was difficult to get to go boxes or extra limes. I got the quesabirria tacos. The meat was bland and so was the dipping broth. I was expecting a blast of flavors and spices in my mouth, but that never happened. I got 1 lime with this order of 3 tacos. 6/10 because it was crispy on one side more so than the other and it was packed with meat and onion. This seriously Lacked flavor. My friend got 3 tacos, asada and al pastor. I tried a bite of each, and the flavor was also lacking there. 3 tacos came with 1 lime. Their rice was very dry. Hard to swallow. 1/10. Fries were decent. Review based on visit 4/7/2026. This place was just recently opened. We were interested to come after seeing their TikTok ads. To our surprise, their bar was not ready yet: only has limited beers and slushy, so when we wanted to order the drinks that broadcast on their ads, they didn't have them yet! This place was great! From the moment you walk in, there is an area to order your food. I loved this concept. You order your food then you can head to the bar (which is to the left) or go straight into finding a seat! Service: From the person greeting me and my friend at the front, the cashier who took our order, and the server giving us our food - everyone was attentive, kind, and friendly. Once we were seated, our food came out in less than 10 minutes. We were asked if we needed any extra hot sauces, utensil, etc. We had a server introduce himself and check in on us too. Great service! Food: We ordered the Birria Nachos. For the nachos/fries, you can add any choice of meat! The birria was soft and juicy! Not dry at all. The nacho chips are my favorite. They were the thick tortilla chips that didn't break when you use it to scoop up meat/toppings from the nachos. The nachos portion was large enough to be shared between two girls! So great! We also order the Taquileros Burrito with Asada meat. I think the burrito came with mexican rice, the meat, cheese, beans, pico de gallo, onions, etc. it was so GOOD! I got recommended this place by a person at work. Usually that can be an iffy sign, as my work is in Elk Grove which is traditionally not one of my favorite locations for food. The tacos arrived incredibly soggy, greasy, and messy to the point that they were difficult to eat. I understand that quesabirria tacos naturally have some moisture and grease, but these were completely saturated and did not hold together well at all. Decided I wanted to try something new for dinner and came across Tequileros Taqueria, and the food looked good, so I decided to give them a try. I ordered online through Yelp and later realized it was a GrubHub type of thing that would lead to issues later. I also later realized this a food truck located at Calvine/Power Inn., in the 76 gas station parking lot. Upon arriving about 10 minutes after ordering, I waited a few more minutes, expecting my name or order to be called, which didn't happen. So I went up to the pick-up window, but the young man there wasn't even aware of my order being placed. He looked at my his screens and then found it, and put it in the order process to be made. I waited probably 30 more minutes for my food, as everything wasn't made together, so I was given a portion of my order. After arriving 10 minutes after ordering and waiting at the truck, an additional 30 minutes. The guy at the register apologized a number of times, and explained order through Yelp go through GrubHub and those order don't come through properly on their end. So my order wasn't received as it should've been. Also, for my wait, the guy at the register gave me a free drink for my troubles, which wasn't necessary; but was greatly appreciated. Food: The food was really good, so that was a plus them, which the ordering and wait issues. We ordered: Asada taco Pastor taco Shrimp taco Birra tacos meal I had the Asada, Pastor, and Shrimp tacos. The tortillas had that perfect combo of crispy edges with a soft bite, packed with juicy, flavorful meat and melty cheese. Dunking them into the warm, rich consomé was everything especially with the fresh radishes and lime on the side to brighten it all up. You can tell they really care about balance and texture. I also had a regular burrito (just keeping it classic), and even that was impressive.
