The food was delicious, the portions generous, the service was friendly and efficient. The owner came to our table near the end of our meal to check whether everything was satisfactory. I had chicken and shrimp fajitas, which were great. My friend had chile verde, which he liked very much. The guacamole had the option of adding onions, cilantro and jalapeños, which we did, and it was delicious, not too spicy. My friend had a margarita, which he said was very well made and tasty. The atmosphere is a clean, friendly, smallish family run restaurant, very welcoming and relaxing. We will definitely return. read more

I must say, every time I visit Sabora a Mexico it's a new adventure. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. On this visit, we ordered takeout--two tamale plates, a breakfast bacon Burrito, and a shredded beef super burrito. Everything was flavorful and satisfying, just like always. Nice and clean place. Service was great. We were greeted as we entered. Shrimp burrito was good. My two items combination plate was taco and burrito with carnitas. My only complaint, I was expecting rice and beans IN my burrito. I guess this is an old thing now. The carnitas were seasoned well and the chips and salsa were great. read more

This has been one of my favorite Mexican food places for years. The icing on the cake was that we Went here for Mother's Day and they were so accommodating for the 40 of us that showed up. (With prior warning) Our drinks were always refilled and the food is delicious. I had the carnita quesadilla and it was covered in cheese. It is my favorite !!!! It's a sweet family owned business and I will keep coming back here for years to come. read more

I have enjoyed several meals at Sabor A Mexico, 8868 Bond Rd, Ste 500, Elk Grove, CA 95624. This restaurant is kept very clean and well maintained, has a great outside patio, and really caters to family. They also have a great wine and beer menu. Every time I have come I've had the same server. He has always been very friendly and attentive. The food here is of a much higher quality than other places I've tried. The Burritos, Juevos Rancheros, chips and salsa are really good. Everything I've tried has been really good. The sauces are not too salty nor hot. The rice and beans taste good but a little different than other restaurants. The in house made Jamaica is what they're known for. I like this restaurant and HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! read more

Went here for a bday party in a large group. Service was very friendly and attentive. However, sad to say I was dissapointed by the food. Ordered the fish tacos and they used what looked like a Gorton's frozen fish fillet like you get from the grocery store. For $19? The server readily admitted it was pre-frozen and battered so offered me the shrimp tacos instead. I accepted, but the shrimp they used were so small, it was just ok. Rice was really good, beans okay. I don't think I'd go back. read more

I just so happen to pull up on this place as I left my pedicure appointment and I am so glad I did!! This restaurant is worth me driving across town to experience this delicious food in addition to the stellar customer service! The portions are great so much so I had to take some of my food home! We went here for dinner on a Saturday evening. Our waiter was super nice and welcoming. The place was clean and they had good Hispanic music on. This was our first time in a Mexican restaurant where they sat us and took our orders. We ordered carne asada fries, asada rice plate, and Birria tacos. Pros: Really nice wait staff. The asada had so much flavor, it was really good. I have not had an asada that flavorful. The grilled onions that came on top on the asada plate were also seasoned perfectly. The birria was also really good. The broth was very heavy but in a good way and full of flavor. The guacamole that same with the fries were real guacamole and not watered down like most Mexican taqueria. Cons: This place is pricier than your typical Mexican restaurant. The portion is small for the price. The rice and beans had no flavor and were really bland. The rice portion is about 1/4-1/3 cup which is pretty small. If it we didn't order the asada fries, I'm not sure that we would have gotten full off our plate. read more

They give you chips and salsa when you dine in - the salsa is delicious. I ordered the birria tacos (plate came with 3) and was really impressed! The meat was soft and I love that the consume was not too salty. I also ordered the shrimp and steak fajitas. It was delicious too. The steak was soft and the shrimp was great. When other people state in their reviews that the food here is "incredible" they are correct. It is indeed like nothing I've ever had before. I cannot help but compare it to the food we enjoyed before the original family sold the business. I find it incredible that whoever bought it is still in business. I find it incredible that their clientele has obviously never eaten at another Mexican restaurant, thus having nothing to compare to El Sabor. Service is also incredible. Early in the night one can't get a server nor a check upon completion. Later in the evening, like within 30 minutes of closing you get every employee at your table trying to get you to order and one time we even got our check before we got our meals. I ordered the wet burrito, and while it looked generous, it was mostly packed with rice and beans and pretty light on the meat. On the upside, the enchiladas with shredded beef were actually quite tasty--super saucy and flavorful. Service was friendly. Unbeknownst to me, I'd had food from here before. My hubby said he'd gotten take out in the past, but this was the first time we went in. There was a gentleman who saw us before we even got through the door. Greeted us, and seated us right away. Told us about the specials, various margaritas for $5 all day! (Apparently this is a Saturday thing). Solid menu selection, breakfast served all day, great ambiance, it was super clean, even in the bathroom, everything stocked and smelled nice. Our food came out so quick! Everything was hot and delicious and just as we ordered it. In a time when good service is hard to find, this place has mastered it.
