I went back again and the food did not disappoint. It's not greasy. I ordered the medium oxtails. There were five big pieces in there and I had the peas and rice with the cabbage. I also asked xtra gravy. My friends enjoyed it too.

Quick and super fast service. Food was fresh and price was great. This part of old national is a bit much but overall it's a good spot to grab food.

If you think these are delicious you're wrong. They are slippery, saltless, old, and too ripe to have been fried.

Great Carribbean food. I have been coming to this location for over five years all the way from Alabama and have never left unsatisfied.

Big difference in taste and it was delicious. I'm also picky about rice peas as a Jamaican I know what authentic JA food should taste like. In my opinion they have the BEST most flavorful rice and peas in the area. Only wish they served larger portions of it. Cabbage was seasoned and cooked well with a bit of crunch as it should have. I recommend trying if you're in the mood for a jerk chicken or JA food in general. Portion and price were good. Food was ready quickly. Service was good.

The plantains were some of the best I've experienced. They were soft in the middle but had a crispy crunchy exterior. Very good! The cabbage was seasoned well, but more crunchy than I usually like. The flavor was really good!! Overall, a good experience. It is a no frills space, with good food and the lady at the counter was nice to me as a 1st timer! Thank you for that! I tipped accordingly... I'll be back for sure. It might be my new go to spot. Stay tuned...

I wanted to like this place so bad!…read more I decided to stop by and order take out. I wasn't greeted when I entered the restaurant. I seated myself at the bar and ordered three tacos 1 chicken, 1 shrimp and 1 steak to go. I noticed that there was another customer that came in and sat at the bar and was offered water, they were waited on by someone else but every customer should get the same level of service. I typically always check my food. I took a quick glance once the food was prepared and saw three tacos that looked like what I ordered. When I returned home, I found they gave me the wrong order. I received 2 chicken and 1 shrimp taco no steak taco. The tacos tasted like someone just poured a bunch of salt on them. They were super salty and hard to eat. I wouldn't recommend them.

This restaurant promises a tantalizing experience of Jamaican cuisine. The star of the show here is undoubtedly the jerk chicken. As soon as our plates arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. I ordered the jerk chicken quesadilla and daughter ordered the jerk chicken salad. The chicken for both was perfectly seasoned with a really nice blend of spices, but not overwhelming. The meat was tender and juicy, with a delightful char. Aside from the main dish, the sides were equally impressive. The tasty fries and jerk chicken egg roll . It provided a delightful contrast to the spice of the jerk chicken. The freshly made mango berry lemonade was amazing ! The atmosphere at Jerk Chicken House was warm and inviting, with open seating inside and out on the patio. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, offering recommendations, very attentive and ensured a pleasant dining experience. The only downside was while sitting on the patio since it was a beautiful sunny afternoon for lunch, was being approached by several homeless coming up asking for money or food. I didn't mind and agreed to buy some wings for the gentlemen who asked, but was approached by two more while eating. The owner brought us our food and when I placed the order, he was kind to provide the wings but asked him not to disturb customers again while they are dining. Overall, the Jerk Shop House of Flavor exceeded my expectations. The flavors were bold and authentic, and comforting. Whether you're a fan of Caribbean cuisine or looking to spice up your palate, this gem is a must-visit. I can't wait to return for another taste of their jerk chicken and warm hospitality.

I got the oxtail plate with rice and peas and spinach on the side with jerk sauce and a rum punch when I tell you, the bartender, Roc was amazing. She was so bubbly and friendly and we had such a great time. I'm definitely coming back here. My little cousin has some wings and he said they were great. He got the jerk wings and we had two hookers with $10 apiece before I think 8 o'clock. there weren't many people in here, but I heard it gets really packed at night and on the weekends as we came during the middle of the day and the work week. They have a lot of lunch specials and happy hour specials and if you come, make sure you come during the day and ask for Rocky.

The good thing that we be happy about is "Freedom of Speech". I personally would "NOT" recommend due the prices of mix drinks, prices, quantity and quality of the food. No complaints about the bar staff servicing. Not sure about the drinks, I had a few before entering the building so I can't provide a honest opinion. The restaurant/club appears clean and decently maintained but no rave statements. First and Last Time funding the Jamerican Bar and Grill. Yes, some will say, hell it's located on Old Nat., what do you expect and my reply would be: "It should not matter, we as black people should have higher standards and regards for all neighborhoods not just the whites but ours should be included also, not to exclude but including our very own". Black Owners and Operators of businesses in majority black populated areas must do a better job in providing higher quality products and services, but we must start by boycotting unworthy establishments. Hell, if you are protesting and boycotting Target, or other white owned businesses then it should be very easy to protest and boycott those businesses in your own neighborhoods that don't provide quality products and services... Just saying, We always preach equally and inclusion, let's start here...
