BBQ Jerk Chicken minus the ribs and rice & peas
    Carissa E.

My 1st impression of the food is good. Really good. They gave huge portions and it was seasoned so well. My boyfriend stopped by this place and picked us up 2 plates. He's a people person so he talked to everyone and he said the staff was so friendly and pleasant. I can't speak to what the ambience was but the only reason he stopped is because they had a line and he likes to try new places. I'm glad he did

We ordered a jerk chicken plate and a curry chicken plate. Both were good but a bit too salty.

I hate to do this....but I would hate more for anyone else to have to go through this. DISCLAIMER - If you are from NYC with west indian background or actually born in Caribbean, don't eat it. I'm not sure what the benchmark is for great caribbean food, because other than maybe 1 or 2 Golden Krusts, I have not had it in the Atl Metro area. This was another ridicously rated high disappointment. Gravy was basically BLACK for brown stew. It was sooooo sweet with no real spice to it. Rice was dry (without the thick black gravy on it). Plaintains were mushy. A whopping $28. Long wait because apparently they cook to order, which I question for meals like oxtail. They have no seafood on the menu.

Meat combo: Curry Goat & Oxtail

This place is a food truck fyi, this is not somewhere you can go sit down and eat. I got the Meat combo: Curry Goat & Oxtail comes with rice n peas, cabbage, 2 plaintains. I enjoyed the goat...but I've definitely have had better. The oxtail I wasn't a huge fan of, taste wise but someone else may be. The taste was more of a bbq taste on the outside, like a bbq jerk type taste? Can't really explain it. I got my order within 5 min. Outside of the truck was clean and there was music playing while you wait for your food. My total was $35 for the meat combo.

Giving a 5 for the experience.... I've NEVER walked up to place an order for anything Caribbean and be handed my order as if I were at a fast food place. INCREDIBLE!!!!! Now I hope it's good... Beef patty is really good, as is the cabbage. Haven't tried the chicken yet.

When I first stumbled upon Scotch Bonnett someone referred to it as the best Jamaican food in Atlanta and I wish I never heard that because knowing me I was going to be a harsh critic! The place is located outside in a parking lot kind of situation, it is an open lot with parking and plenty of seating so you can dine while you are there, but it is outside in an open space which I didn't mind at all. Had cool picnic tables with the colors of the Jamaican flag that I enjoyed a lot and also had music playing on a loudspeaker. There was a bit of a line when I got there which I always consider a good thing because that indicates it is in demand, the guy at the register was unusually nice for a Jamaican establishment which goes against everything I learned in NY about how a cashier should be (inside joke lol). But he took my order quickly and I had my food pretty fast. The food was good, not the best I ever had but again I am from NY and I was being super critical because it is supposedly the best. I got curry and jerk chicken dinners they were both really good made fresh and absolutely filled my appetite.

Where do I begin! Scotch Bonnet is a street side Jamaican eatery with the best food and best vibes. I ordered with a 3 person queue and about 4 orders in front of me and was served in 15 minutes. The barbecue was going and they were churning out great quality food. I ordered the oxtail plate which comes with rice and peas, cabbage and some plantain, as well as a half pound of their jerk to try out all for around 30 dollars which is a steal in my opinion. My expectations were exceeded the flavor was 10/10 and the spice was perfect for an island girl like myself . If you're ever in the area stop by and grab a plate you will not be disappointed

Food was amazing! Don't expect great customer service or ambiance, but you will enjoy the food. Little hole in the wall sort of but great authentic jaimaican food! I will definitely be back. Just go for good food!

As someone who is known for seeking out and truly testing vegetarian options at Caribbean…read morerestaurants, I have to say--Miss Conduck is easily the best Caribbean flavor restaurant in Atlanta. And coming from a Jamaican background, let me be clear: the usual Trinidad vs. Jamaica debate does not apply here. This place stands on its own. From the moment the food hit the table, one thing was consistent across everything we ordered: it was hot, fresh, and made with real intention and flavor. We started with the fried cauliflower bites. The batter was light, crispy, and well done--definitely a solid starter. I wasn't a big fan of the tartar sauce it came with, but it didn't take away from the quality of the cauliflower itself. My friend ordered the jerk chicken rolls, and I have to give credit where it's due--the sauce that came with those rolls was incredible. Easily one of the standout sauces of the night. Next, I had the doubles, and because I like my food with a kick, I asked for pepper sauce. Now, I'll admit--I made my first one obnoxiously hot. But what I discovered was the real winning combination: adding the callaloo on top of the doubles. That was the perfect match. The callaloo itself is blended with so many elements into a rich, flavorful purée, and when paired with the doubles, it created this burst of layered, authentic Caribbean flavor that was just on point. I also ordered a veggie plate with rice and peas, cabbage, and chickpeas, and they did not disappoint. The portion size was generous, and every single item was clearly made with flavor in mind--not just thrown together as an afterthought for vegetarians. I also tried the macaroni pie--it's a smaller portion, but it's true Caribbean mac and cheese, rich and satisfying. The fried plantains were done perfectly--hot, fresh, and with that ideal balance of sweetness and texture. Then came the rasta pasta. My first couple of bites, I thought it needed a little more kick--but by the third bite, everything came together perfectly. You can taste the layers of vegetables building flavor, and there's a subtle heat that isn't overpowering but adds depth. The noodles were cooked exactly how they should be--perfect texture, not overdone, not undercooked. One thing I always pay attention to is this: Is a vegetarian-friendly restaurant also approved by meat eaters? And in this case, the answer is absolutely yes. My friend had the jerk chicken, and she said it was spectacular. She actually lives nearby and already plans to come back regularly. Honestly, I was surprised the place wasn't packed wall to wall. The atmosphere is incredible--it has its own unique style that really makes you feel like you've stepped into the Caribbean. The music, the vibe, everything is intentional. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. We even watched them handle a large party, and they went above and beyond to make sure that group was fully taken care of. All in all, this place exceeded expectations on every level. Five stars without hesitation. If you're in Atlanta and want real Caribbean flavor--whether you eat meat or not--Miss Conduck is a must-visit. I highly recommend making a reservation and experiencing it for yourself.

We tried calling ahead, but no one answered; fortunately, it wasn't too busy when we arrived, so our tardiness wasn't an issue. There was a DJ playing a nice mix of hip hop and R&B, which set a great vibe. We weren't immediately greeted since no one was at the hostess stand, but someone from the kitchen noticed us right away and seated us. They offered a $28 "Girl Brunch" with a choice of cornbread or deviled eggs, plus either jerk chicken fried rice or croissant French toast with blueberry compote, along with a lemon drop. I chose the deviled eggs and croissant French toast and gave the lemon drop to my friend, opting for a mocktail instead. My friend ordered the cornbread and steak and eggs. We both enjoyed everything. I was pleasantly surprised by the croissant French toast, and the mocktail was just as good as any cocktail.
