My last visit was very disappointing. Fathers Day . No shrimp ! No chicken tenders still . Drove an hour, no update on Facebook regarding a sell out of shrimp . Was busy today with a long wait .Tried the corn dogs. Tasted better than it looked . Did not come with mustard . Had to ask . Supposed to come with home made chips it did not . They gave us fries instead even though we made a separate order for fries . Ugh . They have a very limited food menu . Why not go pick up some shrimp at Hannaford ? They actually sell bang bang marinated raw fresh shrimp there . When they are busy the quality of food definitely goes down . My fries tasted very bad . Extremely greasy and over cooked .

Has the best lobster roll here - mayonnaise based with 2 huge chunks of lobster and lots more in salad part. Served on a. Buttery toasted piece of Texas toast. The onion rings , hamburgers , ans fries all Delicious too!!

Small ice cream (it's huge). The service is great and the food is worth every penny!

I wish this place was open year round! Quick and Delicious food! You won't find better lobster rolls anywhere. You're welcome.

They also have root beer floats which is one of my favorites.

My family and I used to come here for the lobster rolls when it was Rowe's. Decided to come back after many years and was very surprised to find a new hipper place. Tucked away at the border between Mexico and Dixfield, it looks like any ole take out stand. Don't be fooled though. The menu was more extensive than expected and everything we've had here was delicious. The service is prompt and friendly and there is ample seating outside on picnic tables. The food is very good quality. You can park alongside the building and both times we've gone, it had a steady traffic of diners, but it wasn't busy at all. Definitely recommend if you are in the area. PS If you are staying at Weld. Just take the right at the 4 way intersection in the middle of town. Across from the road to Center Hill and drive until you hit the stoplight at Dixfield. Take a right at that stoplight, a gas station will be on the left, and you will see Jimmies about 3-5 mins later on your left. Enjoy!

Over-stuffed lobster roll with fries! The best blooming onions, fried pickles, fried oreos and of course lobster roll!!

The Red Barn - Laura's famous seafood stew filled with lobster, shrimp and fish

The Red Barn is a legendary Augusta, Maine restaurant. A fixture in the community, if you will…read more They've been a part of the Augusta landscape for decades (since '77). What are they famous for you ask? Well, seafood...of course. Specifically, the lobster roll. My boyfriend loves the lobster roll! I had the popcorn chicken basket with crinkle fries that I could eat everyday if given the choice. The seasoning and breading are just right & fried until golden brown without sacrificing safe cooking or flavor. Another one of those busy places-it's a restaurant that attracts locals and tourists. They've always got inspirational quotes on their marquee. Outdoor patio seating (tables with umbrellas) and a no-frills, basic interior decor. Gives total seaside vibes.

Maine has absolutely no shortage of seafood restaurants. What most people don't realize is that you…read morecan go as far as two hours Inland and still receive quality seafood directly from our waters. This is in augusta, which falls within that range. They have the option for ordering takeout Ahead of time or online. There is significant outdoor seatting as well as a small interior dining room. The interior has one non gender handicap, accessible bathroom. The menu is not excessive, but the portions are generous. CAUTION: pay close attention to the prices. they will fluctuate and you should not assume what the final cost of your meal will be beforehand!! My clam basket and my daughter's 1/4lb roll (2 20 Oz drinks) totaled $65!! Now I will absolutely give credit to them for the clam portion being large and high quality. These were the type of onion rings that I prefer, which are thinner and more crunchy with less batter. That said, the total completely blew my mind.Because even with a very industry standard upcharge for onion rings in place of french fries.I had sticker shock. I grew up near Portland so I understand the price of seafood can change quickly. But I would say do some price shopping. Because this is more about the experience of the location since the quality of food does exist at other restaurants. In maine.

I have been a loyal Popeyes customer for over 40 years, which makes writing this review especially…read moredisappointing. We specifically ordered non-spicy chicken, yet we received a mixed order. My youngest took one bite and was shocked because his piece was spicy. My husband, who regularly eats very spicy foods like General Tso's chicken, actually had to peel the skin off his chicken because it was so hot. That's simply unacceptable when a customer orders non-spicy. The "Cajun Rice" was another huge letdown. I don't know what happened to the recipe, but this is not Cajun Rice as longtime Popeyes customers remember it. It lacked the flavor that made it a favorite for decades. The chicken itself was just as disappointing. The skin wasn't crispy--it was hard. Several pieces looked like they had been fried twice. The coating was dry, overly dark, and unpleasant to eat. The one bright spot was a young woman working there who was incredibly polite, friendly, and courteous. She provided excellent customer service, and I don't blame the employees. They appear to be doing the best they can with what they're given. The responsibility falls on management. They need to step up and bring this restaurant back to the standards the Popeyes name is supposed to represent. As someone who has enjoyed Popeyes for over four decades, this location should be embarrassed by the quality of food they are serving. We drove nearly two hours for medical appointments and thought stopping here would be a nice change. Instead, it was one of the most disappointing fast-food meals we've had in a long time. Sadly, after this experience, I don't expect we'll be making the trip back.
