I love Jimmy Johns, but this was one of the worst fast food restaurant experiences I have ever had. We came in at 5:47pm and they were almost completely out of bread. Some of our group received their sandwich with bread and others had to have it with day old bread. The customer service was pretty bad. He was shaking his head and scoffing at people trying to order. Some of our orders were incorrect and the sides of kicking ranch were completely disappointing. The store wasn't very clean either. It was a pretty disappointing experience coming from a Jimmy John's fan. I won't be coming back to this location. read more

Possibly the worst Jimmy John's we have ever had. $27 for two sandwiches that weren't even close to good, the bread was so stiff that you could break a car window with it. There were no condiments on them. I was expecting a large Italian sammich and it was a half of a regular. We ordered 5 sandwiches on Friday July 17, 2026 for pickup. I left a $10 tip. When we got back the office, we found all the lettuce was rusty and spoiled. The attached picture is an unwich wrapped in the gross lettuce. When I called to try to work it out, i was on the phone for another 15 minutes, they wanted to charge me for the replacements, along with me picking them up again. The manager seemed unable to do anything.I just took their sandwiches back. The worst part was a smart ass worker who popped off his mouth, insulting me the customer and his employer. This Jimmy John's has some serious issues. The delivery time for a sandwich is well over an hour. They typically forget something (chips, drink, etc.) They have used excuses such as we ran out of bread, we ran out of turkey, we are usually busy between 12-2. I would highly recommend avoiding them. I give them a try every couple of months hoping it will be better and it never is! read more

This franchise has wonderful sandwiches. Ingredients are fresh and well handled and food safety is good. However, in Durango the service is lacking. To start off with, they're always out of some ingredient (often bread which is crazy cause it's a sandwich store). I worked here for almost two months and never had a valid clock in code. The main store manager, Violet, (who is also the manager at Dunkin Donuts) is incompetent. When applying to the store from the QR code sign printed on the "We're hiring" sign, the code went to the Dunkin' donuts website. The training process is a mess with very little understanding about teaching new employees. The manager's often miscommunicated about scheduling. Violet told me when I was scheduled but neglected to mention that no one else working knew those were my workdays nor was I able to access the actual schedule because my employee code never worked. She also forgot she was the one who told me when my first day was and didn't tell anyone on my first day that a new employee was working. She's very forgetful. Violet also skipped a shift she was scheduled to work to get a tattoo done and left the employees overwhelmed. They don't follow many procedures that are gone through in the training videos (which are way too extensive but this is also fairly normal for food service) . One higher level employee / manager slapped a low level coworker's butt on shift as well.(luckily coworker seemed fine with it but still ew) Very clearly says in the training videos not to do that lol. I was also yelled at by another manager for messing up something I had never been told how to correctly do, again because their training process sucks. Most of the employees don't like the way Violet manages either considering how flakey she is. She also wore crocs to work which is against dress code and just kind of stupid to wear on a slippery and food covered (normal for food service) floors. Genuinely the worst job experience I've had. All in all, the management needs better training for sure. Great sandwiches though! read more

Almost every time I go here they are out of bread. It is also VERY dirty in here. Today I went here and they ran out of drink cups

We arrived at 1:00 pm on a weekday to get order to go. Let's start with the fact that this is a sandwich only restaurant & they were out of the main type of bread.. Went to get my a Dr. Pepper & shocker they were out . Found a hair in my sandwich that was made with a half piece of bread. Next our shoes were sticking to the floor so obviously hadn't been mopped/cleaned in at least a couple day. There was 5 people working so plenty of help to keep everything done. Bottom line laziness & lack of caring was obvious. Sadly so many people not all (especially younger generation) don't want to work hard for what they're getting PAID to do. I saw some of the negative reviews before coming. Glad I disregarded. I walked in about 10 minutes before closing. You could tell the guys working the shift were busting their butt to close up. This was the busiest and slowest JJ's I've ever been to, but it was still good. Their sandwiches are always fresh and delicious. You need a code to use their bathroom (printed on the bottom of your receipt) but I had to ask another customer for the code since I hadn't ordered yet. It was clean. Great company. read more

This is a copy of my other review but eat here! I gave them five stars but it whoever hires most of the help gets all of the credit because they definitely emphasize service because even though it's not always accurate, the employees are always awesome -- in particular Ian and Lucas. In spite of the great service, it helps to watch them make your sandwich if they're not busy because these guys are so busy that they're on autopilot and don't always notice if one strays from the normal incrediants. First the guy put mayo on my sub and after I pointed it out, it tried to put vinegar and oil on it but I caught him again but in fixing that, he removed the onion that he'd already put on and I had to ask him for that. Regardless, they're friendly and accommodating and I'd recommend this store above any other sandwich shoppe in town but if you resort to "brand X," go to their south store in town and hope that Michale or Gene are working. As far as JJ in Durango goes, stop and eat and tip well because these guys are top notch and I recommend JJ with all of my heart! read more

Very disappointed with my turkey sub. I asked for lettuce and avocado and got very little lettuce and pretty much no avocado. The turkey was also minimal. I've eaten at other Jimmy John's that were SO much better. I will never eat here again and suggest you don't either. read more

Been here a few times. Never disappointed. They are fast! Boy are they fast! I've had the tuna sub, turkey sub, and the Bootlegger which is turkey and roast beef. I absolutely love the rolls! This store is consistently horrible. We always order online so when we get to the store we can pick up. NEVER The case. Have to wait half an hour on 2 occasions and they help other people first before looking at online orders placed way in advance. You also will have a 50/50 chance at getting rock hard stale day old bread. Todays experience was the same and the kid behind the counter making the food was eating! DONE. read more

Never again, never, never, never again... Here's why... So I decided to write this review after my second visit, 'cause everyone deserves a second chance to impress. This place doesn't. Call me a sando snob, if you would be so brutish, but this is far from gourmet. If "gourmet" has any real meaning left at all at this point, Jimmy John's of Durango isn't doing anything to improve the reputation of the overused and heavily diluted marketing term. Isn't gourmet just a bit over the top anyway being attached to a fast food deli chain? Okay, so some expectations are set, and my mind has been framed to anticipate greatness. Pfff! Today's experience was at 12:33 PM. Upon entering this is one of those places like Walmart or BestBuy that likes to shout at you "Welcome" when the door opens and you have yet to make any eye contact. Who doesn't hate that presumptive, insincere, and corporately scripted line of false hospitality... Apparently me, anyway. As we look up 12 feet to the menu, I decide on the #17 Ultimate Porker. Yup, I'll own it. And I looked even deeper into the black void of their menu layout to find a "Double Meat" option for $1.49... you bet I did! This is where things got a little weird. Trainee at the register needs a little assistance in finding the computer buttons to bring this request into fruition. As the manager(?) leans over from preparing some other sando, and the tone in her voice tells me that she has much better things to be doing, and that my request for double meat is wasting her time and the button was obviously right in front of the kid's face. Okay, so she is pressed for time and isn't the best team member when under pressure from the need to finish the current gourmet sando. Got it. Here is where I asked (politely) for some clarification. You see, I want one doubling of the meat of the original. It appeared as if her instructions to the trainee were to charge me twice. I said, "I don't think we both understand what I would like clarification on, here. I would like to know if you charge $1.49 for doubling the meat of the sandwich or per meat on the sandwich...?" This is where the woman was obviously going ballistic in the mental department and removed any visible signs of customer service. She says: "What did you want?" Me: "Hi. I'd like a #17 Ultimate Porker with double meat please." Her: "Okay." Pushes buttons on register and informs trainee to hit double meat twice. Me: "Let me clarify real quickly, am I being charged once to double the meat, or twice?" Her: "You want double the meat?" Me: "Yes, please." Her: "Okay. Got it." (while giving me stink eye and the tone of condescension) Informs kid to hit the complete transaction button and total me out. At this point the poor trainee is obviously seeing the awkwardness of the transaction but is in the predicament of having to work the rest of his shift for this imbecile. We exchange smirks of frustration and amusement and I pay the double charge of $1.49x2 and go to my seat. No bread selection or beverage or name was taken for the order, and I was seated with my friend for ten minutes while we watched a few people go up to retrieve orders. Now we have been sitting for 15 and noticed two sandos in the window going without claimants so I make eye contact with the woman again and visually and audibly ask if those are in fact for us, to which she says "mmmMMmmm?" Like she has no clue. Going up and retrieving the hogies, my friend returns and says "Don't think she likes you very much." Me: "Ya don't say?" Buddy: "Yeah and she keeps looking at us with that stink eye." I'd like to give this place's owner a call and ask him if that is the kind of service he wants trainees to practice. If you know the owner, have him give me a jingle. So TL/DR: This place is fine... not gourmet, but not trash food. The service is atrocious. Here from out of town, and my boyfriend has a sensitive stomach so we try to stay away from unfamiliar places. We'd been to this chain before and were happy to find the sandwiches here were just as delicious as elsewhere! We also got cookies, which were amazing. The chips are the store's brand, I've never had them before but I like the packaging. I don't particularly like the atmosphere at Jimmy John's; it's very in-your-face. I don't like my restaurants so bossy. All the signs are bright and colorful but it makes me feel like the store is yelling at me. But they deliver, so I guess you don't have to come in and sit down if you don't want to. Staff was friendly and we got our sandwiches almost instantly. However, I was annoyed that they "ran out" of cups for water and charged 25 cents for a regular cup to put water in. We did come here twice in three days, though, so I recommend the place. I ordered a number 6 online and the food was delivered. I examined my sandwich and noticed it had cucumber and tomatoes on the sandwich with wilted lettuce. They guy that answered the phone instantly called a manager from somewhere in the store and I could here him cursing saying he wanted to curse me out. I asked her why was cursing necessary.
