The most extraordinary turkey sandwich I can recall partaking in. I can't believe that I'm in a small Colorado town, where often, mediocre food is the rule, and burgers are typically the only item most restaurants are capable of mustering. This sandwich is truly epic. The wheat bread is from a local bakery. Instead of it being toasted in a perfunctory, afterthought manner, it is thoroughly toasted right at the point of the wheat kernels cracking, engendering the goodness only wheat can provide. The bacon is properly cooked, with no hint of undercooked slime present. The green chili tastes as though it was brought here this morning from Hatch, with the whole of the ingredients being uniquely fresh. Finally, the sriracha mayo sauce provides just the right presence of spice, uniquely accenting the green chili. Turkey itself is great, but I confess, is so overshadowed by the excellence present throughout the sandwich, that it hardly occupies the center stage. On another note, a definite problem here is that the water glass conveying a distinct taste of soap residue. It's bad. This happened the last time that I was here, as well. I did tell the owner about this today. Pricing is just right and seating can be awkward at times. I look forward to returning. read more

Yeah, it's ok. 3.5 star place, not bad, but not the NY Deli orgasmic experience some other views claimed. Pastrami on Rye is fine, I wish more flavors came through from the meat but the coleslaw I added was very crisp and nice. For a side soup I ordered the clam chowder. I have never had clam chowder that wasn't creamy so this broth base was a new experience and it was also in 3.5 bracket which is a solid okay. read more

I've been here for lunch a few times now, and I've enjoyed, for the most part, the experience. The sandwiches are good, if a bit skimpy. The pastrami alone is a reason for a return visit. The cole slaw is nothing to write home about, but the tomato bisque is thick and creamy. So, splurge the extra cost to get that instead. Service has been somewhat hit or miss. The first time I went, I sat at the bar and the guy waiting on me was great. The second time, I sat at a table and had to order at the counter for pick-up. The server who waited on us was completely out to lunch. Could be all the shots we saw her take from time to time. Third time we sat at the bar again, and the gentleman who waited on us just wan't very friendly. In fact, it kind of took him forever to acknowledge us when we sat down. But, when a couple of guys came in and sat down, they were immediately greeted with smiles and menus, etc. So, there's that. The space is cozy, with a nice clean feel -- except for the bathroom area. Also, I found it really odd the number of employees they had working, with a couple just standing around. I mean, how many people do you need to make a sandwich? Maybe put one more front of house, so customers can get service faster and regardless of gender? I'm not saying I won't be back, because I've already been three times. And, it's a handy lunch spot for downtown. But, with Three Peaks really just up the road, it might be a while. read more

What a great place. They brine their out corned beef and pastrami. I had the Pastrami. It was as good if not better than ANY NYC deli. My daughter and wife had tuna one was a melt! Everything thing is homemade except the bread. The staff was as attentive as one could hope for . But the owner was just a good hard working guy that struggled through the pandemic and has seemed to have come out OK more or less. He came and had a long conversation with us and he was just a great guy. Him and his partner deserve a huge Kudos for being as good as they are, and to have such positive outlook. Best hometown neighborhood local vibe around. There isn't a bad selection on the menu and their specials are well conceived with creativity and panache. Everyone is greeted thru the door and even an out of towner feels welcome. I love their simple side salad with peppery arugula alone or with any of the sandwiches. Consistency is par. As locals we had never been here. Saw it was open and popped by. Well it was great!! Surprised!! Had the Gobbler sandwich ( Turkey, apple slices and cheese) with pasta salad. All delicious. I would give this restaurant a 5 based on how delicious the sandwiches were and the service was good. i went up to the register to pay our tab which was $80 for sandwiches and a couple of drinks. There was a large tip jar at the counter so I asked the cashier for change for a $20 and dropped $17 in the jar. Our group of 4 left and 3 of us went one way and one thw other went to the car and the owner followed him outside and to his car and said something to the effect of "I gave you great service and you didn't even tip me dude". I am shocked and appalled. The owner confronting a patron is appalling. You have a tip jar on the counter by the register. Why is that there then? Perhaps check with the other bartender and get your facts straight and don't confront a customer. Very disappointing and unsettling. read more

Wow what a greeting we got when we stumbled on this gem of a place to eat! Not only are there sandwiches and salads awesome but the hospitality was amazing! Colin immediately treated us like family. I don't think he has ever met a stranger. My turkey sandwich and pasta salad was so good. My fiancé enjoyed The Favorite, The Italian! Food was decent. Very very friendly staff and bartender. It has kind of a sports bar feel with TVs above the bar playing football and tons of beer selections including some local stuff which I did not try. The soup had an excellent delicious flavor but it was very very thin Even though it was a bisque soup (butternut squash). My roast beef sandwich wasn't really all that good, honestly. The meat was dry and no part of it was pink. The au ju sauce was good but typical. My lunch partner (who is an amazingly wonderful chef), agreed about the soup but said his Italian combo was good. The environment was clean with a nice open bright feel to it. I don't think I would return here if I were back in Colorado. I'd try a different place for sure. read more
