A Shameful Representation of the Jimmy John's Brand - Highland, IL Location If you care about freaky fast, freaky fresh, or even basic respect, do yourself a favor and avoid the Jimmy John's in Highland, IL--a location that tragically fails to live up to the standards the corporate brand so proudly touts. Tonight's Experience (And Sadly, Not Our First Issue) On August 1st, I placed an order that arrived both incomplete and incorrect. When I called the store at 6:42 PM, I was told the missing items would be sent out--a reasonable solution. Except here we are at 8:15 PM, and not only has nothing arrived, but the treatment I received from the store manager Kayla was inexcusable. After waiting well over an hour, I called again. Kayla told me the missing food wouldn't be delivered until the driver had another delivery in our area. I explained that this was unacceptable, and she coldly told me, "You can come get it yourself"--then hung up on me. I called back, thinking perhaps the call had dropped. She corrected me: "No, I hung up on you." Then she did it again. Let that sink in: The store manager at a national food chain hung up on a paying customer--twice--a customer who simply wanted the food they had already paid for. This Isn't an Isolated Incident Unfortunately, this isn't our first problem with this location. Mistakes, slow service, and a pattern of rudeness have been part of our experience here. But tonight's behavior crossed a line from incompetence into outright disrespect. Why This Should Matter to Corporate & Franchise Leadership Jimmy John's has built its brand on speed, accuracy, and a great customer experience. According to corporate messaging, "Jimmy John's is about delivering quality with a can-do attitude." This location is actively eroding trust in that brand, one botched delivery at a time. And For What It's Worth--I Know This Business I'm not just an angry customer. I started my own career in franchise leadership, having served as a Regional Director of Operations. I've personally supported the launch and success of a new Jimmy John's franchisee in the Edwardsville and Wood River, IL markets, so I'm fully aware of the tremendous investment--financial, emotional, and operational--that goes into opening and operating a store. That's why this situation is even more frustrating: Because I know firsthand how hard franchise owners work to build and protect their stores, their teams, and the Jimmy John's brand--and how much damage one unchecked store manager can do to all of it. Kayla is a poor excuse for a manager. I know it's hard to find good employees these days but, there's got to be a better choice than her. Sadly, i ordered here almost once a week thanks to my addiction to their lettuce wraps but will never order from this location again until she's no longer employed there because of her bad attitude and customer service. read more

Dan born in 1962 from Blue Island loves this sub shop on Ridge Road near U S 41 Indianapolis Boulevard in Highland. Indiana.I been coming here almost 15 years possibly longer since it opened sometime in 2006. Never been in a Jimmy Johns ever always went to Subway and decided to try different sandwiches. Started to like the food and the music Jimmy John plays too and such fun friendly staff here. Liked Jimmy Johns so much I even stopped visiting Subway or I go less or hardly at all it's been great every day or every other day here at Highland sub shop and liked the healthier fresher toppings and suaces along with vinegar and oil. I became friends here with the staff and always to this day look forward to coming in here to eat even if it's usually a mini sub. I liked how I felt with their heathier toppings along with freshness in breads and or lettuce wrap I had that extra energy to enjoy my daily walks along railroad tracks I went to in northwest Indiana and places near Blue. Island and going downtown Chicago too for my walks. Since I mostly stay in the Highland Indiana area a lot, I still was visiting Blue Island and downtown Chicago alot, came here always to take Metra train into downtown Chicago weekly to twice a week my last 40 years too, I still liked Highland so much, I decided to stay mostly here in the region and love the region here of Northwest Indiana. Whenever I visited Blue Island and know I should visit my favorite Chicago area restaurants and places I grew up with I still craved Jimmy Johns and visited the Blue Island Jimmy Johns store even tho Blue Island was very slow I rarely or ever see a customer eating inside the Blue Island store. I usually was always the only sit down customer here at Blue Island alone at Blue Island Jimmy Johns, then realized later here it was mostly a drive thru pickup window and always a delivery store setup. I still love this acquired taste of sub sandwich varieties. Then 2018 came Blue Island closed up a major hospital here in town since 1967 and the hospital supported Jimmy Johns it was rated healthiest foods to eat I was told and immediately Jimmy Johns closed the Blue Island store as they knew business would drop off like a rock in Blue Island as our town is mostly a Mexican town and already has a lot other food establishments. Still residents that were starting to order Jimmy Johns and liking Jimmy Johns for lunch told me they miss it but established more with other food specialties and establishments. I normally eat at Subway, this was a change. I found that the prices are comparable, I wanted to sit out side so I came here. The tables did not have the umbrellas up, but with the threat of storms I understood and thought they was being smart. I got a Tuna sandwich, the place was spotless, and busy. Service was quick and friendly. Very enjoyable. Not sure about the bread I didn't think to ask if I could have it on different bread. Make sure you ask questions if it is your first time. I think if I had asked better questions or explored the menu longer I would have given them a 5 rating. I will come back again. read more

messed up my order wouldn't give a new thing of ranch worth 70 cents lost my buisness for good

The last 2 times I've been to this restaurant it has been outrageously expensive, poor customer service, and ridiculously slow. $12 for a Slim with chips and a drink is crazy. But then I waited just short of 15 minutes for the sandwich both times and the store has been nearly empty. I don't understand. To top it off, the employees treat customers like a number rather than a person. After 2, I'm done here. Tragic. read more

Just did an App order and it was wonderful. The app was great and easy to follow. They were quite pack, but not suppressing as the Sammys are scrumptious. One very nice and beautiful inside and out man was working hard to please all the customers and he sure did! I am one that tends to order the same thing over and over. Last night I tried something different. The new Zesty Garden Turkey Club. It was a risk for me because of the word "zesty". I usually don't like anything spicier than mayonnaise. A running joke about me. This Zesty Garden Turkey Club was a fantastic surprise. So much flavor with out being overly spicy or spicy hot. Such a delicious sandwich that I'm planning on ordering it again for dinner tonight. I recommend this sandwich 100%. read more

Almost every Jimmy John's is good but this Jimmy John's has a way of making you feel special. They are very fast & very friendly (especially via the drive thru). I will continue to come back to this location. Thanks JJ! read more
