We've now visited three locations in three different cities. I love the consistency and employee engagement. This was our third time at a Jimmy Johns and I am really impressed with this chain. Our first visit was in Indianapolis and I was truly impressed with their level of service and the quality of their food. Their stores are downtown and looked identical. Pretty much like Subway. The place was clean and the team members are all very friendly and courteous. They also had some outdoor seating available which definitely added a good touch. As nice as it was, it was just a tad to cold to sit outside. It was a pleasure being in a store where the staff was happy to see you and help you. There were two of us and we all had our own custom made sandwiches. I found everything here to be tasty and definitely fresh. I really enjoyed the turkey sandwich and have always liked the idea of being able to customize it with the condiments that I choose. The bread was really good... Fresh and tasty! I went to Jimmy John's expecting a simple, classic BLT. What I got instead was a dry bacon and bread sandwich literally nothing else. No lettuce, no tomato, nothing. Just sad, empty bread with a few strips of bacon. How do you mess up a BLT when the ingredients are right there in the name? To make things worse, there was no effort to fix it when I pointed it out. No apology, no offer to make it right just indifference. At this point, I'd rather make my own sandwich at home, which would probably taste better and cost way less. I have to say that I am an official Jimmy John's convert. My guy used to tell me about these lettuce wrap sandwiches and I thought he was crazy to boast so much about them. Since there are no JJ's nearby our home, when we travel we will go there for lunch and try the different combinations as a "Unwich" or lettuce wrapped sandwich. You don't miss much without the bread, you can even add extra meat if it doesn't seem like it would fit your appetite. We have ordered the Hunter's Club and Bootlegger's Club and they are both great. I love the spicy pickled peppers too and order those on the side. The Thinny Chips are pretty great for reduced fat chips. Great healthy lunch that is really inexpensive. Oh, Jimmy John's. I want to like your sandwiches because of the price and convenience. Unfortunately, delivery isn't consistent. Sometimes you arrive in 15 minutes (Which isn't necessary) but sometimes it takes over an hour. (No Bueno). I called in a reservation and could barely hear the employee, but she made no effort to speak louder. I specifically requested the GIANT sandwich be cut in half and wrapped separately as I was going to be sharing it with someone. Upon arrival, I went to pay for the order and the employee sounded like the person I spoke to on the phone. After paying for my order she made no effort to tell me where to pick it up at. I went to the end of the counter and another employee started to hand me a sandwich that was clearly too small to be my order. I said what kind of sandwich I ordered, and a man standing behind the counter told me to go over where a cart was to pick up my sandwich. It was NOT cut in half. I went back to the cashier and she just rolled her eyes at me. So I went to the end of the counter where they took the sandwich and cut it in half and rewrapped it for me without any hesitation. Went here for lunch the first day of our conference as it was walking distance from our hotel. There is a ton of energy at this place. The staff are all friendly and upbeat, and they MOVE. My sandwich was ready about a second after I finished paying. They have got their whole process DOWN! The place smells heavenly since they make their bread there. We got there just in time, as right after we sat down, there was a line out the door, and the place was basically already full, so this is clearly a favorite place to go for lunch. I got the #6, The Vegetarian: Provolone, avocado spread, cucumber, sprouts, lettuce, tomato & mayo. Also got a bag of Jimmy John chips. I would definitely recommend Jimmy John's as a great place to get a fast, yummy sandwich. Their napkins say "Wipe!" and their cups say "Drink!". Working downtown, I usually eat here at least once a week. It always has a good crowd around lunch time. To beat the lunch rush, best to get in before 12. Either way they have a fast system that will get you your sandwich super quick. Most people choose the French bread option, but they do offer a 7 grain whole wheat bread which I recommend highly.Sometimes you will get a sandwich, where the quality of meat is not up to normal. This has happened to me multiple times with the roast beef. Maybe they were trying to unload some older beef on me. I stick with the turkey now. Overall they offer a fast decent sandwich. There are a lot of more interesting places to eat downtown, but if you are in a pinch this is a solid option. read more

Yes I know I'm writing a review for Jimmy John's. But Jimmy - WORD UP!! I LOVE strolling to Jefferson for lunch - no matter how busy this place is, it is so crazy efficient the line just keeps moving along. And being a comparatively uptight northeasterner, that kind of efficiency makes my heart just go pitter-patter. The sandwiches are legit. They have a "skinny chips" option to make me feel less like a fat ass, though the napkins say "WIPE" and make me feel oddly dirty for some reason. No matter... Best of all, when its raining, I am STILL motivated to get food from Jimmy's because they deliver! Want to make friends in your office? I've been seeing commercials on this place being "freaky fast" so I thought I would give it a try while in Louisville for a conference. Yep, it's fast and delicious. I got the "Bootlegger". Its all good, but the bread is the best part. We went out to a park area to eat because one thing I don't care for is all the hollering that goes on to communicate what the order is and who's order is ready. Too much chaos for me. I only gave it three stars for the speed of service. The food was two stars. It only took 36.8 seconds to receive my food after I placed my order! The cashier was very smiley and bubbly like she just finished off a six pack of five hour energy drinks. My biggest complaint with the food is they do NOT toast their subs!!!! I don't want to eat a cold sub with cold bread. I want my bread buttered toasted and warm; it tastes so much better! They also did not have as many toppings as their competitors and my roast beef sub only had a quarter inch of meat. There was so little meat that it was buried under the lettuce and I couldn't see it. Definitely not worth $5. You would be much better off going to potbelly. Let me start by saying that I've only had food delivered from this location. I placed my order online and my food arrived not very long after my order was placed (Less than 15 minutes). This shop specializes in one kind of food, and one kind only, Cold sandwiches. Sometimes you just want a nice sandwich with no fried bits or goopy, dripping sauces. This shop delivers on what they promise. I like whole grain bread so I have not tried the other bread options. I enjoyed my Beach Club (no mayo & added bacon). I'm a big believer in giving restaurants that I have reviewed badly a second chance and today Jimmy John's exemplified why that is a necessary practice. I was feeling under the weather so a cold sandwich seemed like a good choice. I went online and placed a delivery order for a "Turkey Tom" but custom added cheese and avacado. I also ordered a cup of sweet tea and a side of Jimmy Chips. This time when the sandwich arrived within 15 minutes it was made to order with exactly the toppings that I had requested. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and there was the perfect amount of avacado on the sandwich. The sweet tea was delicious and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Jimmy Chips contain only three ingredients; potatos, 100% premium peanut oil, and sea salt. She paid by credit card today as she had no cash and wanted a cup of water for my little grandson to go along with his sandwich. They refused to give him any water without paying 27cents (which she didn't have) & she didn't want to charge 27cents to her credit card.
