I ordered a sub here as part of the free toasted sub promotion. I ordered through the app for pickup at 11am. When I arrived at 10:50 they had order papers everywhere in piles. I waited a few minutes and heard someone say that they just finished the orders for pickup at 10:30. I gave one of the workers my name since I had been waiting awhile, they found my order and made my sandwich within 15 minutes. I was disappointed by my sandwich. For free it was perfectly fine and tasty. The menu price was just over $10. It was so small. Like smaller than Subway small - in diameter. The bread was good but there wasn't much filling. If you're in the mood for Hoagies and Grinders, Jimmy John's does a decent job at that. Their submarines are all the same length but they have a regular and slim, and I don't order enough to really know. I was at Chipotle next door and the sign for the new Thai Chicken Wrap caught my eye. The chicken was cold which was great as it was a for later item that we ended up eating with dinner later. If you join the Jimmy John's reward program, you get a free sub after your first purchase and surprisingly, I was not a member yet so I signed up and shortly after my first order, I received the free sub in the app. I have yet to redeem this thing. The wife isn't a fan of this place, so I'll likely be back when I'm out and about on my own, although she did like the Thai Chicken Wrap, so maybe I'll make a convert. Jimmy John's is another of the national sub chains that offers a brand name as well as a sandwich. Growing up in New Jersey, I became enamored with submarine sandwiches (or "subs" for short). They are virtually a perfect meal, having the whole table of food groups (meat, dairy, vegetable and carbs) all in a convenient dining format with no need for a knife and fork. Since moving to Florida, I must say that I miss the independent mom-and-pop sub shops that I grew up with. These national chain sub shops are more like the fast food version of subs, but this us what we have. Jimmy John's has been around for awhile now and I must say that I discovered Jimmy John's to be a complete letdown. The biggest reason is the portion size. If you are old enough, you might remember a Wendy's commercial where an octogenarian looked at a fast food burger and questioned "where's the beef"? This is how I feel when eating at Jimmy John's. Also, the price does not reflect the skimpy portions. They are asking some serious lettuce (money) for a sandwich that is mostly lettuce. Jimmy John's. My family and I have a long history with this sandwich place - all the way from North Carolina to here. I would rate each one the same, or maybe even lower. Here's the pluses - their sandwiches are good. They're easily customizable, easy to order, made relatively quickly, they have big pickles you can buy, and they have the Unwich - so you can have it with lettuce leaf's instead of bread. Negatives - Regardless of location, the employees have always been rude, grumpy or disinterested. They'd rather be anywhere but there. Which is fine, because I've worked in food service and I'd rather be anywhere but work too. It just doesn't matter though. Had to confirm they were even open because none of their signs were on and last time we had tried to go, they were closed early (not sure if staffing issue or business issue) I guess if you really want a sandwich, you could go there. There's other, better options though. Edited to add: The unwich we got, was fine - but my wife said she shouldn't have needed to say that she didn't want shredded lettuce on it - when the meat is already wrapped in lettuce. read more

I decided to check them out so I bought a small 1/2 sub for $5.60. It reminded me of Subway years ago, only worse. It had what I would describe as 1 1/2 thin slices of meat and 1 thin slice of cheese. Maybe if you spend $10 to $12 you get a decent sub but judging by what $5 gets you I doubt it. We love the subs & wraps at Jimmy John's so we will likely keep coming back when the craving hits. However, their service has significantly declined the last couple of years. I remember the very first time I went to Jimmy John's and marveling at how "freaky fast" they truly were! Now they seem to have lost the speed of service and lack the friendly customer experience they used to create. If you do come by, I recommend the beach club or the chicken Caesar wrap, as well as getting a side of their kickin' ranch sauce for dipping! Sandwhich was okay. However I ordered delivery off of door dash, and jimmy johns uses their own delivery drivers for door dash. A while went by without receiving my order, so I called to make sure everything was okay with it; the girl who answered the phone sounded like she hated her life and job, she wasn't helpful at all. The delivery driver had already returned and she asked me to confirm that I received the order, so I checked my doorstep again and it was not there. She didn't put me on hold like she thought she did, and I overheard her asking him about my order and he said "I couldn't find the building so I just left it at the door of the same number apartment of a different building". Rather than the girl asking him what building that would be or trying to offer an help at all in finding my order she states they will not be refunding me, and I asked about how he said he put it at a different building since he couldn't find mine and she straight up lied and said "he found the correct building and dropped your order off, there's nothing we can do". Again rather than help me find the building he put it at, as I understand mistakes happen, she decided to do less than her job which is why I went through the trouble to download this app to leave this review. After walking around my apartment complex I finally found my order... at building 9, right next to building 10. Which is where it is as supposed to go. Short story: do not order online, you will not receive what you paid for. I ordered online, first time the order was wrong, I called the store, they refused to correct it because it was close to closing time (not true, I checked). They refused refund or adjustment for incorrect and missing items. I told they I'll contact corporate and was laughed at and was told corporate won't do anything (which was true). I ordered again on a different day. 20 minutes after I placed my order I got a call saying they can't fulfill my order because they are closing. Let's start by saying I frequent JJ's regularly throughout the state; Metro Orlando area, Tampa, Fort Myers, Etc. Just last week, I had the Roast Beef, Turkey Tom & Tuna over 3 different days but not this location. The sandwiches tend to be fresh, high quality & overflowing with the fixings. Now for the review. We returned from a wedding in Philly late this afternoon & decided to hit JJ's in Waterford Lakes while out running some errands. We grabbed To-Go sandwiches & when we got home I was shocked at the wanna-be sub in the wrapper! There was hardly any meat & the skimpy lettuce was horrible. I'm trying to post a few pictures so others can see for themselves rather than "trust" my comments. If they don't show up here then Please look for pix by my account so you can judge for yourself. (Note - I add the yellow mustard & black pepper) The sandwich was so thin it was almost like a pancake. I asked my wife if she accidentally ordered the Plain Slim but she confirmed it was the original Turkey Tom & receipt showed same. Let's just say, Jimmy himself would be disappointed in this sandwich .... Poor example of what I've come to expect. This JJ's delivered my sandwich with a big piece of HAIR right on top of it today. I called and spoke with "Bradley" who claimed he was the "Manager". I told him I did not want another sandwich brought to me and simply wanted a refund. He first said he could not do that. When I told him I would be coming into the store for a refund, he agreed. I drove all the way to the store and he then refuses to give me a FULL refund because I ate the chips?? First of all, I had to leave work because they delivered my food with HAIR. When we noticed that a new Jimmy John's had opened in the area, my wife got excited. Despite having eaten at another one before, I couldn't remember if I liked them. While running errands today, I decided to refresh my memory and stop in. Entering the restaurant, a number of friendly workers greeted me without rushing me to order. The restaurant is far larger than it looked like from the outside - with a row of booths going back into the building. Deciding on the Italian Night Club, the only options I was offered were adding hot peppers, chips and a drink. They didn't ask if I wanted to remove or change any of the ingredients, and there are only two breads available: french and whole wheat. While those other sandwich places are offering $5 footlongs or other similar deals, Jimmy John's only gets you 8" for the same $5. For $6, you can get a larger sandwich - maybe 10"- I didn't happen to have a ruler in my back pocket today and I didn't ask anyone about the sizes. According to the menu, each sandwich comes in only one size. I don't see why you couldn't ask for the ingredients of a larger sandwich on the smaller bun, but I don't pretend to know the inner workings and politics of Jimmy John's. Once you place your order, you sit and wait until they finish building your sandwiches and they call you back up. You don't get to pick and choose your ingredients like the other sandwich places. What you lose customization options, Jimmy John's tries to make up with quality. The ingredients looked and tasted fresh, and they were plentiful. A few people on the Yelp forums have recently mentioned that Italian subs should inherently be a little messy. As I ate mine, ingredients kept squishing out and I'd have to poke them back onto the sandwich. This wasn't so big that I had to keep smash the sandwich down before I could eat it, but they don't skimp here. What Jimmy John's also has that the other sandwich guys don't is a couple of decent options for vegetarians. The veggie sandwiches at a lot of other places are just subs without the meat. Vegetarian? Yes. Interesting? No. Jimmy John's puts cucumbers, avocado spread and alfalfa sprouts onto their normal vegetable toppings. Still not exactly catering to vegetarians, but a much better option. While their food isn't exactly the "gourmet" that the name claims (though they admit that it's very tongue in cheek), Jimmy John's is a solid choice. read more

Jimmy John's has been around for some time, but I finally gave it a try after the office won a platter by placing a card in the fish bowl. The motto for the company is "Freaky Fast" and I think that fits the service at JJ's for sure. They have a good mixture of subs that are served on their homemade French bread. The bread is a big part of the tasty sub they offer, along with the perfect mixture of ingredients. If you order the subs as they come without adding double of anything, it's a perfect light meal for the day. It's just enough to satisfy your hunger without the heavy feeling. The service is like nothing I have ever seen in a sub shop. Literally all of the staff at this location is extremely nice and completely helpful with making a sub selection. This is one of my last stops before driving to NY. Much better than the Subway's that are along I 95. There's little chance of getting a bad sub at Jimmy John's. The roll or bread is always fresh and delicious. The quality of the meat and cheese is OK. The price is a bit high. They are very shy about coupons or promotions. The sandwich, like others have described, could be bigger. Service is super fast! The pickle is worth the dollar they charge. Would management comment on the post stating they charged $1 extra for lettuce; they would not give the woman a piece of sandwich wrap paper to bring her leftover sandwich home? It's a sammich!! And everyone knows I LOVE a good sammich. They make a good sammich here. I would've given them 5 stars because the service from the young brother who served us was spectacular. But I just couldn't do it. Why you may ask. Well it's simple the price point is on the steeper side. The other thing that stands out to me is the variety. Unfortunately just because you can put meat and condiments on bread doesn't mean you've got a great sandwich. Then there's Jimmy John's, based in Champaign, IL this franchise of restaurants rivals the likes of subway and quiznos. The menu has two main sections you have 8" subs and giant club sandwiches with some interesting names like the Vito which is JJ's version of an Italian and the Billy Club, a tasty roast beef smoked ham provolone and Dijon mustard sandwich. You're sure to have a tough time deciding but as soon as you order they live up to their "Freaky Fast" slogan. On my last visit I had the Beach Club, sliced turkey, provolone, avocado spread, sliced cucumber, lettuce, tomato and mayo. This Definitely needs to be on your must eat list. read more

The service was quick & easy, and the food was SPECTACULAR. I got the Big Italian club with extra Vito Meat and they surely did pack it! (Which I wanted!) No delivery fee and a cheap price makes this an easy favorite for me henceforth. EDIT: Check this out - So, I recently had an issue with my delivery. I asked for no tomatoes, as I dislike them. They had a new employee on duty who was still learning. Naturally, I ended up with some tomatoes. I called to voice my slight frustration, and the assistant manager herself came out, apologized, and handled the situation in a friendly, timely, and professional manner. Honestly? I don't think this place is all its cracked up to be.2 adults and 2 kids costs $30.00 When I asked to add lettuce to my daughters sandwich they charged me a dollar extra. My husband asked for dressing on the side they said they don't have side containers. At the end of our meal I asked for a piece of paper they wrap the sandwiches in to wrap up our left overs they said it was against their corporate policy to give out second pieces. I was starting to get bored with the few low carb options in the area until one of my friends posted their massive lettuce wrapped sub from Jimmy Johns on instagram! I have been here for this bad boy a few times a week ever since! You can literally get any of their subs as an unwich, which just means wrapped in lettuce. I usually get the turkey tom (turkey, lettuce obviously, mayo, tomatoes, add sprouts and oil and vinegar) or the tuna. My favorite so far has been the tuna. The subs are super cheap and they have a lot of freebie add ons and they are open late, which means you don't have to eat crap food after a night of drinking ;) Only weird thing is that they only offer provolone cheese. My standing order is the #5 Vito, which like most of the sandwiches comes with a pitiful smattering of meat. This month, however, when I bit into my sandwich all I got was lettuce! Same with the second bite... I couldn't believe it. So, I dissected my sandwich only to discover that all the meat had been shoved into the crevice where the two sides of the roll meet; and, lettuce was everywhere out. Since we meet in a conference room, it was a little awkward reassembling my sandwich; but, I did it. Not the best; but, it was okay after I got everything in to place. read more

I will never eat at Jimmy Johns again for two reasons: First, this location in Waterford Lakes employees a General Manager who verbally berated my friend and me for attempting to split a sandwich. She embarrassed us in front of her employees and the other customers. She threw new sandwiches on our table, and every comment from her was dripping with sarcasm and disdain because we wanted to split a sandwich. We were bullied by this woman. Second, Jimmy Johns does not take orders like Subway or Pizza Hut. No splitting in half and ordering 'your way'. Since the restaurants have multiple cameras watching the staff make sandwiches, they are not allowed to cut a sandwich in half and then take special requests. My friend did not want oil and vinegar on her half; I did not want lettuce on my half. Jimmy Johns reported to me that due to allergies, all sandwiches must be made to the specs on their menu board. I suppose I am spoiled by places like Chipotle, Subway, Outback, the Publix deli, Broadway pizza, the Olive Garden, the vendor who sells hot dogs at Home Depot, and gosh, well ABOUT EVERY RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD, that takes special requests. We arrived at the restaurant about 10 mins after ordering and were waiting in the car for the notification. My phone decided to starting acting weird and say no internet connection so I ran in to the store to check (now about 20 mins after ordering). They had one sandwich done but were working on the rest. No problem. Went back to the car with the kids. I was excited to get my first sub here after seeing an ad on Instagram. Jimmy johns posted a delicious looking sub called "nicks sub" and I had to get it. It was absolutely empty inside when I walked in and I tried to ask for the sub that was on the ad but the cashier told me they don't have that sub. I was forced to get another option which was perceived to be the same. The sub was made so fast I didn't even have time to even customize it or anything. Also the sub was below par and I will not be returning at all. Would've gave it 1 start but the quick service was the only thing good about it. read more
