Half eaten sandwich just laying on table, booths dirty, bins of meat off the prep line sitting on top with no temperature control with no lids, top of food line looked like it hadn't been cleaned off in a month. I want to like Jimmy John's, but the employees at each and every location that I go to make it hard for me! This location is very convenient, as it is directly in my path between home and work. It is also very close to work, so is usually a viable option for lunch when I don't bring something. Inside, it's small with only a handful of seats to sit at. Otherwise, it's a pretty standard looking Jimmy John's. The employees....well, in probably 10 stops at this store in the past year, I cannot recall one time where I'd even classify any of them as friendly. It's usually a smug looking person standing at the cash register, no personality expressed during the transaction, no use of common manners, etc. Same thing everytime! The sandwich makers are no more engaging or welcoming! I can understand that they are busy making sandwiches, but they are usually the one to hand over your sandwich. Rarely does that include the use of manners or any friendly exchange, it's usually just a "here you go," or on numerous occasions they just set the sandwich at the end of the counter and expect you to know it's yours! I'll give you this, they are fast! You can usually get in and out with your lunch in a couple minutes. As for quality, it's kind of hit or miss. The bread quality is usually pretty good. The meats and cheeses are decent. The lettuce and tomato, and other toppings, are most times fresh. I've found a couple times they put way too much mayo or mustard and everything else just slides out of the sandwich as you eat it. In the end, I'm mostly ok with the sandwiches and sometimes they are really good. It's the employees that suck here! They are never friendly or welcoming and they make it seem like you are a bother. I mostly save my visits for days that I'm absolutely craving a JJ sub because I always know the visit will be painful. read more

I placed an order today that never got delivered to me and when I called the store for a refund, the staff was very rude and dismissive to me. They told me that even though I had placed the order through the JJ website and completed payment there, I had to contact Uber Eats (a service I have literally never used before) to request a refund for payment sent directly to JJ through their site. When I explained the situation to the manager (also rude and dismissive), he told me I would need to "look up the number for Uber Eats or whatever" I worked in food service for years, so I understand that things get busy and being short-staffed means, you have to get creative, but I have never experienced such careless customer service on an order that was never received. Earlier today, I contacted your restaurant to place an order for 13 subs. I was informed by your staff member, Justin, that due to the short notice, my order could not be accommodated. While I understood the constraints of short notice, I did find this odd. I requested the name of the manager from Justin before seeking alternative arrangements elsewhere. Justin rudely hung up the phone when asked for this information, which was extremely unprofessional behavior, especially, being that I was very calm and not upset. When I called back I spoke with Hailey, who identified herself as a shift manager. I relayed the incident to her, including Justin's unacceptable conduct, expecting a more sympathetic response. However, I was taken aback when Hailey casually dismissed the matter when I told her that Justing hung up on me. Instead she said "hmmm im aware, well he did say he could fill the order" and " I guess its was not right, but okay!" For both Hailey and Justin to be shift managers and treat customers like this is unacceptable! To encounter such dismissive and unprofessional behavior from your staff members, especially considering the reputation of your establishment is very disappointing! I trust that you will investigate this matter promptly and take the necessary steps to ensure that incidents like these do not recur in the future. I had a last minute situation where I needed to order ten sandwiches. I came into this location and lectured by the cashier that I need to "plan better". I haven't really had any of the issues that prior reviews have had with this location, and there's nothing negative that I've experienced overall the few times I've ordered from here. Maybe that's the difference--ordering ahead instead of at the restaurant or getting delivery--but all of my trips here have been positive. The quality of the sandwiches have been good and I feel like I get a pretty good value for the cost of the sandwich, even after prices have increased slightly over the past year. I can still get my normal Italian Night Club sub and a bag of chips for just under $11, which is still a lot cheaper than places like Cousins Subs and Subway with far better quality IMO. I order ahead every time I go here, and I always give a 5-10 minute window. I've never once had to wait, with my sandwich always ready to go on the order-ahead shelf. The employees have been nice and energetic, and it's always nice to be greeted whenever I go in, even if it's for a ten second grab-and-split. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. First they charged me for a smaller sub than I had asked for instead of refunding it and charging me the correct price they just charged me for another small sub even though that made my total more expensive. I had asked for no tomatoes or lettuce and just for a plain sub for my kid because he's allergic. Already down extra money that I want to save even if it's not a lot it just the principle, and then they proceed to put tomatoes and lettuce and all the stuff I asked to not be put onto the sub right on there and when I asked if they could remake it nicely they said no because they had already made it. read more

The subs are decent, but the big flaws are in the accuracy of the order you placed (freaky fast does NOT mean freaky correct) and the customer service. I recently ordered an item online and they didn't have it in stock in the store, so the employee only offered me an item of similar value but couldn't refund me my money since I paid online. Worst Jimmy John's location. Rude staff and takes an hour to get a sandwich when you order ahead.

Ordered for for pick up. Arrived after my pick up slot and they still hadn't even begun making my sandwich. It was my lunch break and really didn't have the time to wait, if I order ahead for a specific pick up time then I expect it to be ready at that time. If it's not possible then that pick up time shouldn't be available or I should get a call notifying me of a delay and when to come get my food. On top of all of this - half way through the sandwich I decided to take the cheese off. I opened my sandwich and found a BUG crushed into the cheese and what looked like bug legs scattered on the slice. I am absolutely disgusted and will not be coming back to this location. They need better quality control and they need to work on their time management. read more

If I could give a minus, I would. I walked in at 4:45, no one in the place. Ordered a #6 on sliced wheat bread. The order-taker had to make sure there was bread made! (Really? At nearly 5 pm?) It took nearly 5 minutes to make my sandwich (on the butts of the loaf, BTW). When I mentioned how slow they were, I was told "we have a lot of sandwiches to make" Seriously, they were like snails and 2 of the 3 on duty were screwing around. I have worked in food service for over 35 years, the last 10 in a sandwich shop, and I have never been so dissappointed . I was standing there a lady walked in they took her order after her I said I'm waiting for my online order. Even after saying that they took more customers even ones just walking into the door one and another people leaving with their food. Finally a guy said " dude she has been waiting" because of him I only waited 35 mins total. If in a rush don't go here unless you like their music. This review is specifically about the Jimmy John's located on Church Street in Watertown. The last time I ordered from a Jimmy John's delivery took longer than expected, so after that I had basically gotten a sub elsewhere. However I decided to order a couple of subs, with chips, on a Saturday night. Maybe that had something to do with the really awful results. First I wanted to order by phone, not online. I'd rather pay a delivery person and tip him or her at my door. I called the JJ's four times, each time with the same result. The phone would ring eight or nine times and then disconnect. The ad for the store does claim you can contact it by phone, so go figure. So I ordered online, which was easy enough. A small easy order. The store is about a mile away and I only ordered two subs and a bag of chips. The order took a little more than an hour to arrive, and when it did the chips were missing. The delivery person said that the chips hadn't been put in the bag (I don't know how or when she knew this). She then said she would bring the chips right back as soon as she could. Which was never. To summarize: Nobody answers the phone to take an order. The order arrives slower than I thought reasonable (Jimmy John's talks about fast delivery). When it arrives it isn't complete. Then, despite assurance that things would be made right, they weren't. It gets better. A day later I was downtown and stopped at the Jimmy John's to get the bag of the (missing) chips. I'm not usually so petty, but at this point I was pretty upset with JJ's, plus I had tipped the store when I ordered online. I usually don't tip for bad service, and after all, I had paid for the chips. When I told the store manager about what had happened she told me she had no record of a problem with an order, so basically, tough luck. No chips. This was the same as being called a liar in my book, as though the average 73 year old customer regularly walks in off the street with a story to get a free bag of chips! For me it isn't about the cost of a bag of chips. It is about good customer service and yes, it is about getting what you paid for and expect. Maybe the delivery person was just covering up her error, or something. But from start-to-finish the experience of shopping at this Jimmy John's was pretty darn disappointing. Enough that it will be a very long time before I purchase anything at that Jimmy John's again. There are other options in Watertown. My advice is to try them first. read more

Horrible experience. I ordered dinner for my team. After the delivery guy left I realized that they missed one sandwich. I called the store. The person who picked up the phone had no remorse. He said he is not able to get in contact with driver, but will keep trying. I asked him how long will it take to deliver the missing sandwich. His response was "i cant tell you that. I just ordered a #4 sub in Waukesha WI on Silvernail and there was sharp bones in the turkey. I found it by chewing on one and then found one in the remaining meat. I don't know if I swallowed any or not. I have always liked Jimmy John's subs but I will not continue being a customer. I would suggest checking on where that meat comes from and how it could have bones in them. I am very disappointed and hoping that I don't have sharp turkey bones in my system right now. read more
