Hands down the best pizza I've ever hand in Wisconsin having lived here for nearly 15 years. Not a lot of seating, we got there at 4 PM right when they opened. Try to reserve if you can or get there early, we went on a Saturday and was a packed house by 4:30 PM. It's clear they know what they're doing and our waiter was great with our kids. I was verbally attacked by the drunk owner with zero reason last evening (5/24/26). My daughter works (now worked) there and my son and I came in to visit her, get some food and hang out. The owner out of nowhere told my daughter that "the woman in the black shirt is obnoxious...don't wait on her" to which she responded "My mom??". Note that I have NEVER had any kind of interaction with him in the past, although I had heard many stories about his verbal abuse of employees and managers. And apparently also customers. You'd think after finding out that he had said something disparaging about her mother, he'd shut up. Not drunk him. He proceeded to tell me and my daughter that I was a "piece of shit" and "an abusive mother" (meanwhile my daughter is crying and telling him stop and that it's not true) and kept on with his abusive words. It's interesting that every single time he does this, it's with a woman. Apparently being a 5'5" very small man, he is too afraid to do this to a man likely because he would get his ass kicked. Perhaps he should go buy himself a sports car or a fancy boat to satisfy his "little man syndrome" instead of being an abuser. Prediction that he'll come and reply to this review with some made up excuses instead of taking accountability for his actions. Typical narcissist. read more

I love a good thin crust pizza and they did not disappoint! I was warned, "the toppings are A LOT" and even warned, I was shocked by how loaded these pizzas were. I personally felt the crust was overbaked, but perhaps it's necessary to hold up the toppings without wilting under the weight? Also would have liked a bit more sauce, but, that's just me. (I'm "saucy" lol). We ordered carry-out and our pizzas were ready right on time. Solid pizza, solid service! read more

The service is good. The pizza is great and the garlic bread is good but they gotta turn up the heat. I mean we were there Saturday about 4:00 PM and it was 25 outside, but it was so cold inside that restaurant we had to wear a jacket sitting down on those cold wooden benches turn on the fricking heat. Long post alert: I'm waxing poetic to justify my negative feedback. Wisconsinites (myself included) have an intensely loyal attachment to the Northwoods supper club / dive bar vibe, and just Wisconsin bar culture in general. If you're the Up North type, get the appeal of a tiny, cramped, divey bar serving up great old fashioneds good food, and a lake view. That is what Doc's is supposed to be. A dependable Bloody Mary, a sassy bartender, and just generally good vibes, with unpretentious but tasty food. At Doc's, you get the divey, Northwoods vibe from the short ceilings to the wood beams and Christmas lights used indoors. Love that. What you don't get, though, is good service or food, and that matters a bit if you're running a restaurant. I don't think this is anything new, either. I've lived walking distance from Doc's for 10 years, and nothing has changed for the better or worse. Recently, and on-brand, I've experienced rude wait staff, and little regard for orders actually coming out correctly. And the pizza actually kinda sucks. Like a lot. Most of the pizzas are flavorless, with bland sauce and crappy crust, and then they pile on quadruple the amount of toppings anyone would ever want on a pizza. Like, I don't want my pepperoni in stacks and clumps, and I don't want a veggie pizza so wet that the crust turns to mush if you take leftovers home. I get the appeal of the building and the lake view and the atmosphere, I really do. But you gotta have a good staff, good food, and better beer to make me want to come back. I keep checking, though, like once a year to see if it's better, and it just never is. read more

A really nice pizza place located off the beaten path. Located on Pewaukee Lake it would be a great stop when boating. The menu offers a variety of specialty pizzas that should satisfy just about everyone. We had a tasty thin crust pizza that was perfectly prepared. Came here to try this much hyped place. It took two attempts as the first time they had no open tables and we came back another time with a reservation and were promptly seated. It's got a bar atmosphere with only a few tables when you walk in. From the back of the bar there is a very nice lake view out the large windows. We were hungry and started with the cheese curds. They were very meh. Seemed to have a bit of weird consistency and slightly too much breading. I had the super special pizza as I like all the toppings listed. The pizza is very full of toppings. By far the most amount of toppings I've ever had on a pizza. I'm a bit surprised to find myself saying this, but there are actually far too many toppings on the pizza. The extreme amount of toppings puts the usual pizza ratio of crust, cheese, sauce and toppings way out of whack so that you can't enjoy any elements of the pizza other than the toppings. The pizza is also billed as having a cracker crust. But the crust is not the thin crunchy crust I've had with other cracker crust style pizzas, it's thin but not crispy, it's a bit soggy, perhaps due to all the toppings. So, there is a very distinctive pizza here. If you love toppings, this is the place for you. read more

Went to the bar to complain and was introduced to the owner who was clearly hammered and was told by him that I was a dumb C$&T and that I could go F myself . We came to Doc's Dry Dock Pizza after hearing great things about the food--and to be fair, the pizza was good. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. During our visit, we were introduced to the owner, who was clearly very intoxicated. What started as strange small talk about high school football from the 1990s quickly turned into an uncomfortable and hostile situation. I was called a "dumb blond bitch" over a topic I had no interest in, and when my husband politely asked the owner to calm down and be respectful, the situation escalated. The owner became aggressive and threatened to get physical. We had our children with us, and they were frightened enough that we had to leave. It's incredibly disappointing that what could've been a great family meal was ruined by such unprofessional and disturbing behavior from the person running the place. The food is not worth the toxic environment. We will not be returning--and I hope the management seriously reevaluates how they interact with guests. read more

Drive in from Milwaukee and call when I'm in town to order a pizza for carryout. It was 8:16 when I called. Their website reads they close at 9:00. They told me they were closed. I said their website says they close at 9 which was met with laughter and the response that it's wrong and it's been wrong for a long time. Terrible customer service. Change your times on YOUR website to avoid these bad interactions. This bad review would be easy to avoid with accurately reflecting your closing time or honoring the time you posted for closing. read more

Doc's recently added gyro sandwiches to their menu and though they're know for their great pizza, let me tell you, try a gyro! Authentic gyro meat, in huge portions, and the taste was phenomenal. Came with tzatziki sauce that was also fantastic and the tomatoes were tasty and fresh as if they came straight from a garden (as I write this post in the middle of winter). I recently went to a new Greek place and I would say the taste of Doc's gyro was better, hands down. And matching up the portions, Doc's was even slightly cheaper. JJ Watts favorite pizza is solid. Typical legit Wisconsin pizza. Thin, crispy, topping to the edge. A bit pricey but thoroughly worth it compared to other places near by. If you like Zaffs you'll dig this. Why the 3 stars? It's a nightmare inside. My parents came across this place randomly and then introduced me to it. Now, pizza is my food of choice. Every year for my birthday my family goes out for pizza, in fact.. Since we discovered this place, I've gone here for every birthday since! This could be the best thin crust pizza in Wisconsin. It for sure would make a strong argument for it! Ample toppings, a sweeter sauce with a bit of a kick. Excellent mozzarella cheese. For those who suffer heart burn easily, you might want to go easy on the tasty toppings, but I'd also highly suggest throwing caution to the wind. Wow, Wow, and one more time, Wow! Doc's has no local rival for the amount of toppings on my pizza. My wife actually thought it was too much. She was full after a slice and 1/2. I'm a bit on the bigger size and I was able to consume three slices before handing in my napkin. We got "The Joker" and added pepperoni on half. We got it as a par-bake to miss the rush of orders during the Packer play-off game. I knew we were in for a real treat when carried this pizza to the car and had to use both hands due to the weight. Baked up hot and bubbly in our oven with toppings and cheese dribbling off in a few spots. Next time I'll put a layer of foil on the rack. Next time maybe a 14" instead of the 16". Well... I WANTED to love this place. I keep searching for a pizza place close to where I moved. The crust just was not good, and the ratio on toppings is way off. I will give 2 stars because they used fresh mushrooms and olives which is great. But that's the best I can do. I think the most telling part of this story is that this pic is before taking a bite of anything... note the $8 or $9 order of mushrooms and how tiny it is. The garlic bread is also an side, and was unbelievably soggy and gross.. the marinara sauce comes Ice cold which basically renders it unusable as a dipping sauce. This picture has 2 medium (small to me) pizzas and the sides, and represents $60 of my money with a tip (yes I tip on take out as well).. this might be the first pizza leftovers in my life I don't eat. Had to check out Doc's when we first moved out to the Lake Country area. I called in an order on my way home from work and it was all ready for pick-up by the time I got there. I know I'm in the minority, but I like my pizza to be a bit more minimal. There was a lot of toppings on the pizza and the onions tended to overwhelm the crust and sauce on the pizza. I like to be able to taste both and it was hard to do that with this pizza. The sausage they use has a nice zip to it. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but not bad and would order from here again. While I didn't have a lot of interaction with the employees since I just picked up the pizza to go everyone was friendly. read more

I come from a town where our local pizza place is legendary...none ever measures up....until Doc's. It's just fantastic. It's pricey- but because he loads it up with the best cheese and pepperoni. They have tons of variety but that my jam. The sauce has a nice zip and the crust is thin but nice & crispy & able to hold up to the weight of all those fabulous toppings. SO good. And the...Rueben Rolls....YUM!! This place is a gem since it's a lil hole in the wall with down to earth people and an awesome circular bar where they pour a great drink & you end up chatting with people across from you. Pretty cool local place. Came here because we wanted pizza and checked out yelp for one with good reviews. Pizza is thin crust with lots of meat and lots of cheese. If you don't like a lot of cheese, definitely ask them to go lighter on the cheese. Pizza was square cut so you get a lot of pieces. We all enjoyed it. Pepperoni was really good. This place is on the water so if you sit at the bar you can see the view. Dining area is blocked off from the water so no view there. There aren't a whole lot of tables so if you come at a peak time don't expect to get a seat. Take out might be the best option. read more

After reading so many good things about this place for years and looking at all the excellent reviews, we had to try it. I placed an order over the phone for one 12" pizza with the thick crust. My husband went to pick it up, brought it home for us to eat and realized it wasnt correct. It was clearly not a thick crust pizza and the bottom was burned- see picture. We called and said the order wasnt right, that it was supposed to be on thick crust, the employee stated they do not even have a thick crust option. Well it says so on their website, if you dont offer it, change your website and dont accept a phone order with a request for thick crust.
