This place is just like any other chain sandwich shop. The food is good and consistant, probably not the most extraordinary or delicious sandwich in the world, but for location is place is not a bad spot to get some food. I found that their sandwiches are good, the bread is baked daily, and sometimes you can get hooked up with yesterdays bread. If you've never tired/heard of Jimmy John's whole wheat bread YOU NEED TO TRY IT!! It's always so fresh and fluffy from this location. I always get sandwiches delivered to my work and they really are super fast. I submit my order through their app (which is also extremely convenient) and their here in 5-10 minutes tops. I haven't had a bad sandwich delivered yet & I use to order at least once a week. Not sure if they increased their prices though? The whole wheat sandwich I get is 8.00 plus tip, which is kind of pricey but it does fill me up for a few hours. read more

It's critical that you get here before the high school lunch hour, or you will suffer dearly. The secret here is fresh crusty bread and bitchin' mayo. Not a fan of mayo normally, but I could lick this stuff off Rosie O'Donnell. The sando's are made super fast. I'm very disappointed. First my order was accepted for delivery because my address was in the computer because I have had delivery before. I then get a call 10 minutes later and apparently my same address is now literally a block past where they will deliver. My address is 1.3 miles from their location. Apparently they can't get here Freaky Fast enough. I, annoyed, went and picked up my order. You would think that a percentage discount would happen due to all of this. But nope. Not even a free soda. My sandwich was not as great as I remember them being. I was disappointed that my Turkey Tom now has lettuce instead of sprouts. Overall, the hassle was not worth the food. The person taking the orders is a rude jerk. The guy with dark hair and a ponytail. He calls people out. My mask was on all the way and he confronted me saying to wear it higher. It's as high as it goes. My nose and mouth are covered. He then called out another customer for being to close to someone else. He's rude. To add to my last review I get the #7 double ham and provolone and the #11 Ham, turkey and provolone. So delicious I go here at least twice a week! The crew working during the week know me and my friend and know our orders which is amazing since they always seem to be busy. We LOVE Jimmy John's - I've loved it ever since I went to college in Champaign, IL and have been wanting one on the West Coast ever since. We stop by Jimmy John's each and every time we are in Reno - we usually get one sandwhich for the road, one for at home and some day old bread if they have it. The prices are a bit much considering you get a very tiny sandwhich - smaller than a $5 footlong, but a few dollars more expensive. They have "Slim" sandwhiches - just meat and bread and even these are pricey - last time we went, hubby got a roast beef Slim - it was like $5 - and it had seriously ONE SLICE OF ROAST BEEF. The raw materials (bread and one slice of roast beef) could not have cost more than $1. Oh well. My favorite sandwhich is the Tuna Slim with Provolone, it's classic and very tasty. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is talk about inattentive staff and horrible customer service. So we walk in and are the ONLY people in the store, I order 2 sandwhiches each and a pickle and ask if they have day old bread - they say no but i can buy same day bread for just a bit more, so I ask for 2 loafs. Then hubby says he wants a soda, so I do a 2nd transaction for a soda. I then wait for my food, and she hands it all to me, and I ask about my bread - she said what bread? and i'm like I ordered 2 loafs of same day bread, she said I wasn't charged for it, so I'll need to do another transaction. By this time there's 3 people in line. What do they do? THEY MAKE ME WAIT! I waited 10 minutes to spend $2 on 2 loafs of bread. Seriously? They should have made it right the first time and given me the bread since they forgot about it! Oh well. In the end - it all tasted good - we ate the loafs on the way home and saved the sandwhiches for later and boy were they tasty - except my husband's one slice roast beef which was a rip off! read more

Ok, where to start. I've heard rave things about Jimmy John's. So finally decided to give it a try. Never again. First...what kind of sandwich shop has ONE kind of cheese? Seriously, one kind. Provolone. So if you don't like that, you're SOL. I decided to try it anyway. I got the ham/cheese on a french roll. With, of course, provolone. I added onions and avocado spread. The sandwich itself isn't HORRIBLE. It's mediocre. The bread, however, is NOT fresh. In fact the bottom is quite hard. I'm not a fan of Port-o-Subs but would go there every time before going back to JJ. There is very little meat on the sandwich and really all I'm tasting is mayo and lettuce and some semi-stale bread. I tried an Italian sub last week, $4.75 plus tax. They use an 8" french roll, and layer on salami, capicola and provolone. It seemed very average to me, adequate but not memorable. It Was made really fast though, within moments after paying, it was ready. The one thing that intrigues me about this place is they deliver. I think their menu stated that delivery items are 49 cents per item, not bad. I absolutely love Jimmy John's. Each sub shop I've been to has always been the same, right down to the motto, "subs so fast you'll freak." It's nothing fancy and what you see is what you get. There's catchy phrases on the wall, bright neon signs, and day old bread for 50 cents. I can walk in, order my #3 Tuna on white, with jalapeno chips and know all is right in the world. We had a friendly conversation with the franchise owner who gave us a brief history of Jimmy John's (as if I didn't know-I am from Illinois after all) and me, my sister and my Christian sat down for what would be my first decent lunch in Reno. It's so sad that it had to a fast food place like Jimmy John's but thank goodness it always has been reliable and good to me for the last ten years. My sandwich was perfect to say the least. The bread was fluffy and hot, and the meat, lettuce, tomato and mayo had a consistent and even ratio. I personally like to shove jalapeno chips to my sandwiches to add a crunchy texture to my sandwiches and Jimmy John's kettle cooked chips make a perfect addition. I obsess over their sandwiches and if they had any in the Bay Area, I'd probably be their best customer in the history of Jimmy John's. read more

I'll never understand why people try to blame individual franchises for corporate decisions. If a place can't deliver to you because you are out of their range it is not their fault. They probably want to deliver to you but corporate policy won't allow it. Or complaining about what is or isn't on the menu. Instead of giving the individual store a bad rating the better thing to do is to complain to corporate. Most chain restaurants give you a corporate number you can call if you have issues with their policies. Okay rant over! That being said. This Jimmy John's is great. The fact that they stopped delivery to this side of town even though we are less than 2 miles away lost them a star. Of course you have freaky fast deliver when you only deliver with in walking distance. The sandwich lost them another star because half of it was a mayo mess! The third star was lost because the kid at the register tried to charge me for a dull price menu item when I built my own using only two meats and a slice of cheese. When I told him its a build your own and should be way less he acted like I was asking him to give me all the money in the till plus his car. Sandwiches were delivered 1 hour and 45 minutes after ordered and they said that us customers should expect that because his job is really hard and blamed the delay on covid. We would go to Jimmy Johns in Cincinnati all the time so I'm aware what it's all about. We headed on over to Beach Hut Deli......that place is awesome.....BUT there credit machine was down so they were only excepting cash....BOOO So we drove over to Jimmy Johns instead. They have pretty decent sandwiches and the prices are very fair.....I'd rather eat here over Subway any day! I ordered the Italian Night Club with peppers....I always do! Up until earlier this year I hadn't even heard of what a Jimmy John's was. Then while visiting my sister in Tampa, FL we had dinner one night there and I was hooked! Turns out there is a Jimmy John's right near me too so I've been hitting it up pretty regular. I went there most recently last Sunday and had my favorite #9 - salami, capicola, ham and provolone. This sandwich blows me away. It's so meaty and delicious and Jimmy John's really is famous for their bread. As a plus the service is ridiculously fast and there's some cute girls working there. West 4th st. is out of their delivery range, which is about 1.5 miles, or 5 minutes away... I don't understand.

They might be fast.. but they have always seemed to mess up our orders. Only sandwich place that delivers.. young snotty kids taking your order.. always bent out of shape when you ask for something specific. Shows up with half of our order missing.. Very rude facial expressions when you tell them to go back and get what was ordered.. Very famous for charging the credit card duplicate times. I had a meeting to attend so I ordered a Tuna sandwich on line as my wife requested that for dinner. I picked it up, went home and gave my wife the sandwich and proceeded on to my meeting. When my wife opened the wrapper, she found a salami and cheese, not tuna.(She hates salami). She called the manager and told her of the error. She said to come by the following day and we would be given a credit. There was no offer to deliver the correct sandwich. I went to store the next day and asked for the credit and the employee said the manager had not entered a request for a credit yet as it sometimes takes a couple of days to go through. He said that he would make me a tuna sandwich but that was all he could do. So much for good customer service and keeping the customer happy. This location doesnt make the subs like the UNR one. Very minimal amount of core ingredients are used, in other words they are stingy and subs are rather unrich. Jimmy Johns for the most part will provide same flavor and taste so food is still good, it is just that selling food at minimal standard gets minimal satisfaction. read more
