A very well deserved 4.5 Stars, but our meal was a 5 today. It's funny I live near by in midtown and I walk by Michaels 2-3 times per week... AND I enjoy deli sandwiches! Yes, I finally went in with my son. I ordered "The Tab" and it was Phenomenal! Hefty portions of meat and cheese and a perfect ratio of bread and fixins. My son had the Prosciutto Panini and graciously gave me a bite. That WILL be my next order! Fabulous!!! Probably the best potato salad I've had in many years as well. The staff is super helpful and friendly and the speed at which you get your order is pretty fast. The ambience is maybe the best part. Like a quaint Italian eatery with the tables wearing the red and white checkers, with probably the best sports memorabilia I've seen literally covering every square inch of the walls. I've been getting their Apple Chicken Salad for years. I'm addicted. It's chopped FULL of beautiful ingredients and topped with a freshly grilled chicken breast. I stopped in here for lunch with my beau. It was fulllllll of people. We were lucky to get a table outside. It was hot but at least it was in the shade, and quieter than inside. He ordered some turkey avocado sandwich. The bread was so tall I couldn't get my mouth around it to really try a bite, so I can't comment on that much. He really loved Tiramisu and it said hand made so we got it. It was good and very fat based creamy. As it should be! It could have used more espresso flavor though. I really wanted a panini, but decided to opt for more veggies. I got the sweet passion chicken salad becuase I like sweet things, and becuase salads out are always better than salads you make at home. I'd give it a 7/10. It was colorful and sweet and had lots of toppings. It left something to be desired though. (I had subbed blue cheese for feta). Service was fine and fairly quick for how busy it was. I've heard about this place from a few people. I just wasn't super impressed. read more

I met a friend here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. We got there at 11:30 because we knew it gets busy during the noon hour. And we were right. It got busy. I had the chicken apple salad on a bit of Romain lettuce. It also came with walnuts, blue cheese crumbles, and a raspberry vinaigrette. It was definitely good sized and quite delicious. The lettuce and apples were very fresh and the candied walnuts and blue cheese crumbles were a nice touch. It also came with a small piece of garlic toast. I've been to Michael's several times and have never been disappointed. I have to tell you their sandwiches and potato salad are amazing. If you go, get there early to avoid the long lines! read more

Such a cute and nostalgic spot. Tons of seating, welcoming atmosphere and the staff is great. Parking can be tricky, but there are street parking and about a block away is a small one way lot. The triple decker hot corn beef and pastrami sandwich was great! Fully loaded with meat and flavor. 10/10 recommend. The Chicken salad sandwich was just ok. Nothing stood out. It was missing my swiss and the bread got really soggy quickly. I wouldn't order this sandwich again. But that's ok, because the triple decker made up for it. We also ordered the sweet passion salad. That is an immediate YES! So yummy! The coconut, fruit and chicken were so delicious. I would order that salad a 100 times again. read more

Okay when someone suggested Michael's Deli I was like: where when and how? The interior was so homey and very sporty of various sports. You could chill the day away there, enjoy the pictures and the staff. The samich was yummy. Yes I called it samich, it was beautiful, to see all that green, the softness of the bread and no drowning of the mayo. It was such a delightful balance. What a lovely, authentic spot! We had just landed in Reno after an early flight and we were walking downtown looking for something to eat and Michael's Deli caught our eye and I'm so glad it did! Both of our sandwiches were so flavourful and the staff were super friendly. LOVED Michael's Deli! Sandwiches are the perfect size - the French Dutch bread is perfect. I got the TAB sandwich and it was so tasty, perfectly balanced. I truly loved it! We also had the Jalapeño Soup - which was creamy and so comforting for the winter months. This was phenomenal - I'd get this again every time. The apple chicken salad was MASSIVE and so so tasty. This was admittedly, the first time I've been to Michael's deli, even though I've passed it by it so many times throughout the years I got their prosciutto Panini and it was delicious. A great blend of prosciutto cheese pepper Cheaneys all warmed up on a flatbread. Also have the veggie pasta salad, which was very balanced filling but light. This was a great lunch to get without feeling like I broke the bank or was in a food, and could return to work. I will have to try their soup one day. read more

The food is really good and it's usually always a line. Even though they are busy the employees are not rude at all. Very nice very patient. It was my first time there and I let people go ahead of me to order because I was unsure. I ended up choosing a gyro beef sandwich. It definitely hit the spot! There is mostly street parking available. This place is located in midtown so you already know the parking is scary. But luckily there is available parking in the back of the building. You have to drive thru a ally to get to it. I reccomend checking this place out. I feel like it's easy to miss. But once your inside, it is something to remember read more

Michael's is a local favorite with good reason. Nice large sandwiches served fresh and crazy fast . Large salads . A great variety of both it's a big menu so you can have lots of combinations of things . My favorites are the pastrami triple-decker, and the hearts of California salad but everything I've had has been tasty . There's nearly always a line at lunch, but they have that operation down to a science and things move very quickly . even when it's busy there's plenty of seating . This is one of my absolute favorite places to visit for either breakfast or lunch in Midtown. Everything is very clean, organized, and the utensils and napkins are well stocked. I decided to have the breakfast sandwich with sausage on a croissant this morning. It was perfect and exactly what I needed after a busy early morning of yard/ garage/ estate sales. They also have really good crisp filtered water which was very refreshing since it was just starting to warm up outside. The staff are always so great and helpful as well. 10/10 read more

We were there for lunch. It was my first time there, and I had no idea how they do business there. There are two signs, once us order here, any other ones has pick up here, but the rest is up to you to figure out. I ordered two gyros, but one of the employees wasn't very reassuring us to who was I supposed to pay, and not much else explained. I asked the lady at the pick up window, and she said, yes, I could pay there. I had a good sandwich, and I enjoyed the place there. They have a lot of sports memorabilia, and it is really quite the nice place to eat. Not much was explained about the dishes, so we decided to deposit everything at neat, little station they had there. I would have to go back and try some of the sandwiches. read more
