This was my first time trying Jimmy John's! They have a variety of different sandwiches on their menu - think Subways - although there does seem to be more emphasis on Italian cuts. The walls were filled with funny signs but hey that's apparently Jimmy John's for you. I ordered an 8" Club Lulu combo and it was super filling. The sandwich is just the right size in my opinion. I went here on a Saturday night and went thru the drive thru. I ordered a #9 with banana peppers. While the server was making my sandwich I asked if it could be warmed up. The server explained that they don't warm sandwiches because the oven is specifically used to make the bread. Reheating the bread will cause it to be hard. They don't have the ovens like subway where it's timed for a few minutes so it doesn't burn or get over cooked. If a server doesn't know how long to keep the sandwich in the oven it will cause the bread to be hard. However, they made an exception and heated up my sandwich for me. I appreciated the courtesy and the explanation. My sandwich was made exactly how I ordered it and I didn't have any problems. read more

Reckless driver who ignores stop signs, speeds down the street and almost hits me. And when I confront the guy and the manager, the manager tells him not to argue with me. Not to mention his license plate is completely covered. Isn't this illegal? Makes me believe that Jimmy John's hires drivers who are not compliant with the law and probably don't have insurance. I placed a mobile order, rolled up to the drive through 10min later and was greeted with "hey what's up?" I told them I was there to pick up a mobile order and he goes "oh man, ok, we're really behind so it's going to be a minute. Pull around." I pull around and sit there for about 5min and he hands me my food, missing my husbands chips. I sit there another 5min waiting for them to notice me...they don't so I open my car door and they go. Clean restaurant, friendly staff and fast service. My roommate swears by the #9 which is the Italian Club with hot peppers. It's his favorite sandwich. Since I'm not a big fan of Jimmy, he takes advantage of enjoying this sammie when I'm working and he is off. I haven't found a favorite, I've tried the #10 Hunters Club, #12 Beach Club and #13 Gourmet Veggie Club. Just like Subway, I find the bread to overwhelming. What also scares me about these sandwiches is the nutritional information. The sodium and carbohydrates are through the roof. If I want a deli sandwich, I'd rather go to two other "local" deli's that are located in my hood. read more

When you order a tuna lettuce wrap they don't even give enough lettuce to wrap all around it plus when you include pickles or pepper they don't leave include that either. They get NO stars from me! Went here today and was meeting my boyfriend. I had already ordered and was sitting down, waiting. As he pulled up and got out of his car, one of the punks behind the counter pointed and said, "Look at this douchebag. Who does he think he is?" Oh Hell no. I tried to talk to the manager. You know what happened? Every employee along the way stopped me, blew off our complaint with a, "I'll let him know." Even when he did find out, he laughed it off and never came to talk to us. As we were leaving, I approached the counter to ask for corporates number, and the damn manager called me a sir! I am a woman! With breasts! And a purse! Are you flipping kidding me?! Worst of it, he was laughing and so were the two teenage girls standing by him. The problem is that my buddy ordered a delivery to my house last Saturday afternoon... 48 minutes later as he is getting dressed for a wedding, he looks at me and says "where the hell is our food?" So I call them ask politely, "did our food leave yet...just thought I'd call back and see what's up?" JJ: "Yeah, our credit card system was acting up when he called and we didn't know how to get a hold of you..." Me: "Hmm. We tested the second delivery today...it was under 12 minutes. Not bad! The food is Jimmy Johns, but the service is really immature and I guess run by teenagers? But to not even call us back and tell us you couldn't confirm his credit card so you just didn't deliver or call...is ridiculous. This JJ just opened... I don't know the exact date but it seems like it was this month (August 2012). Considering that, and that JJ is a chain sub shop normally staffed by teenagers, I didn't set my expectations super high. And overall I was pleasantly surprised. My first visit was via the drive-thru. It's the first JJ I've ever been to with a drive-thru. The employee on the intercom was friendly and even a little funny, and the food came out super fast. Orders were correct. Nothing to complain about here. My second visit was in store. The register employee needed some training. After taking payment he handed us cups and then just stopped talking. We've been to many JJ before, so we knew to sit and wait for sandwiches, but a new customer would have definitely felt like they were left hanging. Not a huge deal since he was probably on his first week. Then my sandwich came out on the wrong bread. Honestly, I didn't know if I ordered it wrong or the employee rang it up wrong, so I was asking in a very polite tone. The first employee I pointed it out to told me that's how it was rang up, more or less telling me to just deal with it. Luckily a second employee quickly cut him off and said he'd fix it, no problem. 60 seconds later I had a new sandwich. So it's not perfect... the staff needs a training but that is to be expected when a shop first opens. Will JJ replace Mom's or LeGrands or Macklind Ave Deli for my sandwich fix? No. But sometimes you want a sandwich and you don't want to wait, and that's where Jimmy John's comes in. read more

Mmm, not sure why the reviews are so poor. I have been inside once to order a sandwich and thought the service was great. However, I tend to order in more and find the delivery guy to be one of the nicest people ever. He had forgotten the soda my husband ordered and stopped at a gas station prior to delivering our sandwiches in order to arrive at our door with our complete order which was extremely thoughtful and not necessary or at least not for us. This is the worst Jimmy John's I've ever been to. I've visited this location multiple times on the weekend and they "run out of bread" every time. How do you run out of bread at 7pm on a night that you're open until midnight? This has happened more than 3 times. The staff didn't seem to care either. I was so excited to see that this store had FINALLY opened and it was something new close by, and boy, they did not disappoint! I went into the shop and it was clean, and time I walked in I was promptly welcomed by every employee I could see. This was my first time ever in a Jimmy John's so when I asked the girl at the register what should I get. She recommended a Italian Night Club. So I went with that and I wet to have a seat. So as I was eating I watched how they were interacting with other customers and other workers and I can honestly say that contrary to the other two reviews I read, it seems to be a nice place to eat in and they treat customers with the upmost respect. I went to the drive through and they were out of bread. I waited 10 minutes so they gave me a free sub card. Which is cool I wasn't expecting anything. I'm not the kind of person that gets bent out of shape of something like that. I returned a week or so later and placed my order in the drive through. I ordered a hunters club. This is on the right side of the menu. I was then told I would have to come in because the card did not allow drive thru. The card said no delivery which understandable nothing about no drive through. OK I'm an easy going guy I walk in. I am then told that the card is only eligible for things on the left side of the menu. Umm ok. The card did not say anything that stipulated this. My sandwich was already made. It was sitting right there on the counter. I said can't you just charge the dollar or so difference and give me my sandwich? Young teenager manager says "I don't have a button for that." Ok. She refused to give me the sandwich unless I paid full price. I told her "life is about solving problems. Sometimes in life there is no button." She looked at me like I was nuts and I walked out. I'll never go to jimmy johns again. There are way too many locally owned sandwich shops to support. What kind of fast food doesn't give you napkins unless you ask for them ? Jimmy Johns. Jimmy John's is about giving you the least amount of food at the highest possible price. The customer service is awful, drivers have had trouble finding my house which is a few blocks away, one driver blamed me for having been given the wrong address (that was when I knew something was wrong), when one calls to order the person taking the order does not seem what they are doing.
