This is my first time trying Bougie bites.Their prices tend to be on the somewhat pricier side for the amount of food. I got the crispy cut fries served with Bougie signature seasoning and the egg rolls. I like that their fries were super crispy. It has a sweet and salty taste, which I never thought would go well with the fries, but it does. The egg rolls were fillings. They are located in a ghost kitchen on Hampton. Parking lot is tight when busy because two lanes of car parking in a narrow parking lot and Only enough room for one car to go in either direction at a time.

One of my favorite vegan spots to hit up! The staff is friendly, the food is great and they always are sharing coupons to save money on your order. The reason why I give it 4/5 stars is because there is no inside seating. During my first visit I had intentions on eating at the restaurant but there was only one table with 2 chairs- which was unfortunate because the inside is clean and nicely decorated. They have multiple cardless pays options because they DO NOT take cash. Something I do appreciate about them is they call their customers to get feedback, which I find super cool. Overall, definitely go here if you are looking for delicious vegan food you can't get anywhere else!

Veggie wrap. Delicious with their sauce!

This is a great find! It is a vegan restaurant. I ordered their veggie rolls and they were outstanding with the sauce that came with it. It was a bit oily, but I wiped that off. They told me it was their number 1 seller and I see why. The only thing is, I wish they could do more gluten free things as my wife needs that. They do offer GF options and so that's great. They also have the meatless burgers. I will come back to try more things.

Let me first off by saying how much I appreciated vegan options at Pride! My sister was on the hunt to find your truck to show me all the tasty bites. The burger was tasty and my palette recognized the nuggets and tenders. The sauce was fire! The fries were seasoned. If you're looking for a local vegan option, hit up this food truck!

Tried the OUUWEE burger tonight at Laumeier After Dark event. Burger had great flavor and the vegan mozzarella was well melted and tastes just like regular mozzarella cheese. The sautéed Onions added some texture. Fries complimented the burger. This duo had a balance of salty and flavors together. I plan to go to the restaurant location later this year.

So amazing !! The best vegan burger in da Lou.. YOU definitely wouldn't believe it's vegan and you're saving a cows life by eating it !! The staff are friendly and upbeat . Also the egg rolls are delicious as a pre warm up before your burger and fries

Today, Good Friday, was my first time trying Bougie Bites, and my first post lent meal. I followed their Instagram and saw that their food truck was going to be at Northwest Plaza today. NO CAP EGGROLLS - $15 - two decent sized deep fried egg rolls filled with Impossible burger meat, onions, peppers, and cheddar cheese. I was really nervous about the vegan cheese because I never ate/liked real cheese. Luckily, its presence was very subtle. These egg rolls were pretty freaking amazing! The perfect mixture of crunch and filling (they do NOT skimp on the filling)! Dip them in the accompanying Bougie Sauce for extra oomph! (If you're a sauce lover, buy an extra sauce. My first one was gone before I got the the second egg roll.) 10/10 will order again! BANGER BURGER - $19 - Impossible Burger patty topped with a chipotle pineapple sauce, crispy shallots and pickled jalapeños, and cheese. I omitted the cheese, ofc. LOVED the flavor this burger packed! The seasoning and crisp of the french fries were executed to perfection. I also love that they give you a heaping of fries, so I definitely feel like I got my money's worth. Observations: - I feel like the burger bun could be improved. This burger would be a 10 with a softer, buttery bun. The current bun has a dense (think of the classic, old school gluten-free), potato bread taste to it. They are JUST starting out, so there's always a lot of trial and error to perfecting any craft. Plus there are SO many supply issues these days. I'm sure they'll find the perfect bun in no time. - This is a personal preference, but I LOVE a sloppy burger! I would've loved my burger dripping in that Chipotle Pineapple sauce because it was straight FIYAH!! Next time I'll pay for extra sauce. I love the cashless payment system. You may either download the Revi app (earn rewards!) or scan the QR code on their food truck. In essence, food was fresh and delicious. Everything ordered today, I'd order again. The customer service was excellent, served with a smile, laughs, and a lot of patience for my shenanigans! I cannot wait to see them blow up in STL! Maybe some ice cream shakes could be in our future to go with those burgers and fries? (Manifesting!!) Be sure to follow Bougie Bites on ig and Facebook to see where you can catch them next! Black woman owned business!

This was my first time ordering from the Bougie Bites Food Truck. Saw them at the Vegan Market by IKEA. I'm usually not a veggie burger person. However, this burger was AMAZING! Burgers come with fries. So, don't do what I did and order another side! Fries were awesome too! Service was friendly and fast.

Yummy! That was my first thought. Vegan? That was my last thought. The food was beyond my expectation. My first time experiencing Boogie Bites Food Truck also gave me food envy for people in my group who's food also looked and smelled good, it was hard to choose! Ultimately the egg roll (which was basically a burger) satisfied me. The fries were the perfect cut and crisp. I have more food to try the next time I come across this truck and hope to at more local events.

    On Scott AFB!!!
    Wanda H.

So, I'm giving them an extra star for pulling through and showing up, even though they were short on workers. It's definitely not easy for food trucks to come to Scott AFB and I appreciate each and every one that goes through all the trouble to do so. The food was DELICIOUS! Healthy? Me thinks not! The grease on the paper in the box was pretty obvious. And I know those two go hand in hand (delicious and greasy). But they didn't over salt the fries, and I reeeally appreciate THAT!. I also very much liked the way ordering was done on the a pad, outside the truck. Though that does take away the ability to pay cash. But everything has good AND bad points. Would order from them again, though I don't necessarily think I'd go out of my way to get to the truck (if that makes any sense). P.S. That burger and fries (with a few bucks for a tip) cost almost $25. Eh... Not worth it.

I promise it's worth it. Kitchen 95 is a Taiwanese restaurant located off of Page in Overland area. They used to be partners of Taike Shabu Shabu, the biggest Taiwanese restaurant in St Louis area back in the day so you know the food would be fire. My favorite is their fried boneless chicken leg, which would be offered for free if your order is over $50. It tastes almost the same as the one I had in Taiwan. It's crispy on the outside and super tender on the inside. Another dish that I love from here is the braised beef noodles soup. The broth was so flavorful and the meat was super soft. It's the best that I have had in the Stl area. Other dishes that I would recommend are the Hakka stir fried and the fish with black bean sauce but overall you can't really go wrong with anything. HAPPY AAPI MONTH!…read more Wow, I return to the country and STL has a new veg spot that just opened this week! They are labeled as vegetarian, so I had to call them to inquire if they had any vegan dishes. The lady was very nice and informed me that as of right now, everything is vegan. Due to previous snafus with vegan restaurants serving things made with non-vegan ingredients, I kindly grilled her a little bit more. She assured me that everything is vegan here, for now. However, they are still in their soft opening, and she says the menu will change and may include vegetarian options. (Look forward to some ramen in the future.) The menu has a nice variety and everything is extremely affordable a la carte. You can also get bento boxes in small, medium, or large. As a foodie at a brand new restaurant, it was my sworn duty to try as many menu items as I possibly could... Ya know, for research purposes. Family Bento Box - Comes with 2 large sides, 3 entrees, 4 spring rolls, and a large box of white rice for $34.99. You pick your sides and entrees from a preset list of choices. My two sides of choice: STIR FRIED CABBAGE - I honestly didn't love the cabbage. I'd prefer it a tad more seasoned and stir fried. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order it again. SOY BASIL - I love basil, so this was quite tasty to me. They were out of their lo mein, but I'd definitely order this again and couple it with their fried rice or lo mein. My three chosen entrees: FIVE SPICED DRIED TOFU - firm, not soft, tofu cubes that are seasoned by the hands of Father Flavor. 10/10 will order again ORANGE SOYA DELIGHT - reminded me of a beef and broccoli with a tangy orange twist. Not bad. SEA-Y FILET & CRISPY SUJI FILET - each of these can be order separately, a la carte. I love that you get a taste of each in this family bento box. One is a fish alternative, the other is a chicken alternative. I really like them both (very good flavors), but the Crispy Suji Filet was my favorite. 10/10 would order again. Additionally I ordered... CY BRAISED DOU BAO ROLL - delicious. Would order again. MA PO TOFU - I don't like soft tofu, but the sauce alone makes this dish worth it. TLC FRIED RICE - a tasty turmeric fried rice that I used instead of the white rice. I don't like mushrooms so I just picked out the few lions mane shrooms that came in it. Would order again. FRIED DUMPLINGS - veggie-filled pan fried dumpling. They were good, as were the spring rolls. It's a nice sized eatery; very open and spacious. They're doing carry out only right now, but they do have tables in case you need to eat right away. Everyone was so nice and patient with my line of questioning. I look forward to seeing what they do with the menu. One parting suggestion would be to label the vegan and gluten free items on the menu to lessen confusion.

TLDR: Good Food, But A Lot of Red Flags…read more I had been wanting to try Shabu Day for a while and finally made it out. The food was honestly really good -- but there is a lot this place needs to fix before I can fully recommend it. The first thing that hit me when I walked in was the smell. And not in a good way. It smelled like a sewer. Not what you want when you are about to sit down and eat. It lingered the entire time we were there and was really hard to get past. The front of the restaurant looks okay at first glance. But once you sit down you start noticing things. The tables are wobbly and clearly rigged up with makeshift fixes. Extension cords are running visibly across the floor which looks bad and feels unsafe. The menus and sauce bottles were sticky -- like they had not been wiped down in a long time. Little things like that add up fast. I caught a glimpse of the back of the house and it looked grimy and dirty. That is a problem at any restaurant, but especially at a place where you are cooking your own food right at the table. The staff were not very welcoming either. They were hard to find when you needed something and did not seem very interested in making sure you were having a good time. Now here is the thing -- the food was actually fresh and delicious. The broth was flavorful and the ingredients were good quality. That part genuinely impressed me. But for the price they are charging? The total package is just not there yet. Good food can only carry a restaurant so far. They need to clean things up -- literally -- before I come back. UPDATE: One more thing worth mentioning that I think is really important. Shabu Day is strictly all you can eat -- and that is the only option they offer. For most people that is fine. But for anyone with a medical condition that limits how much they can eat, this format is a serious problem. You are being charged full all you can eat prices for food you physically cannot consume in that quantity. That is not fair and it is not inclusive. A lot of restaurants in this space offer a la carte or smaller portion options for exactly this reason. Shabu Day should do the same. It is a simple change that would make a big difference for a lot of people and would show that they actually care about all of their customers -- not just the ones who can eat the most. Clean things up, fix the smell, train your staff to be more welcoming, and give people a fair way to order. The foundation is there. Now build on it.

While browsing reviews, we came across a hidden gem in St. Ann called Maaji's Street Kitchen that had surprisingly high ratings. I couldn't believe how well-reviewed it was, so we decided to check it out for ourselves. We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Monday and were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in. We made our way to the counter to place our order, and the staff member was very helpful once we mentioned it was our first time. He walked us through the menu and even pointed out different dishes and combo options on their digital signage display menu, which made ordering much easier. We placed our order to go and waited inside. It's a small space, but it's decorated with unique art and has a really unique vibe. There was a hypnotic Indian song playing in the background, which added to the atmosphere. We sat at a table that had a game on it--I believe it was called Carrom, a tabletop game where you flick checker-sized discs into corner pockets, similar to a mini pool table. A woman who I assume was the owner or manager came out from the back and greeted us. While we waited, she showed us how to play the game. As we were playing, she came back and even offered us samples of the food we had ordered. I was honestly impressed by the level of hospitality--it's not something you experience very often. The sample alone was some of the best Indian food I've had. The spices were perfectly balanced for my taste, and it made me even more excited to get home and dig into our full meal. My wife ordered the Mixed Vegetable Curry Bowl, and I went with Combination #2 (Shredded Chicken Curry, Steamed Rice, and Parantha), along with a side salad. Overall, the experience was fantastic. Our recent orders: Stirfry basil with beef (17.99): our favorite Chili's stirfry chicken (14.99): it was better the more you had it, but it was just strange that the chicken was coated in sauce so it didn't make it quite crispy Five spices tofu (13.99): this was pretty good. It's perfectly crispy on the outside and the dipping sauce was not too bad. But Covid killed buffets, so I thought my Indian buffet habit was a thing of the past. Recently, my wife drove by this place and saw all the signs for a lunch buffet, so we decided to try it. It didn't disappoint. The place / decor is simple and the place wasn't crowded. In fact, I was concerned that there were so few people there. But oh my goodness, it was amazing. I really liked every dish I tried, even the ones that weren't exactly what I remember from other experiences. And my favorite dish was one I'd never had: Kamundal aur Sarigobi, which is broccoli and mushrooms. It was phenomenal. Everything was just the right spicy too. The only thing that didn't blow my socks off was the kheer, which was just okay. The price did blow me away though. It was really expensive. With tip, like $30 per person. So be aware of that. But soooooo good. I also want to say that I met the owner and she explicitly said she'd cook a dish for us special if we called ahead and asked for it to be on the buffet. How awesome is that!? Anyway, definitely check this place out!

The food came out fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The popcorn chicken was crispy and perfectly seasoned, the stir-fry was delicious, and the sizzling pepper beef was easily one of the highlights -- incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and there wasn't a single disappointing dish on the table. This was our first time trying ChiliSpot and it absolutely lived up to the recommendation. One of those places where you're already looking at the menu deciding what you want to try next time before you've even finished your meal. Fantastic food, great experience, and an easy 5 stars. We'll absolutely be back!

The lamb pieces used to be small but they are huge now! Appreciate the owners taking the feedback. I think they make the tofu in house. They are huge thick soft pieces with enough crispness on the outside. It's a good introduction to how seriously Chinese people take tofu and how in other countries they have a huge variety of tofu, vs the select few we have in the U.S. And I used to be partial to the spicy fried fish at cate zone, but chilispot has upgrade this dish a lot. It's perfectly crispy and hot!!! Even if you don't like fish, it's a great dish and also makes for great leftovers. I know the fried chicken is popular but I find the chicken pieces are too small. Even with two heavy eaters, we still have leftovers for another meal

But it's all good and we all smile through. Took my brother Sunday night while he was in town cause he lives in a less diverse area and craves city access to all the thing. As soon as he said let's get Jamaican I began craving a meat pie. Have mercy I love them! They ain't playing with the spice either so I keep drinks handy. Ended up ordering one meat pie and a bowl of the soup of the day. It was red bean soup he said. But wow the depth of flavors and textures, it should get a better name! Love it and happily ate it all! The meat pie took longer of course to come out and they weren't kidding it was hot! Loved it and shared a tiny bite (cut off) with bro whose eyebrows lifted in joy. He had the jerk chicken plate and ate every dang bit! I have had wings, goat curry, jerk chicken, curry chicken, rum punch and lots more on other visits and had always left happy & full. The folks who work here are good folks and enjoy seeing others enjoy the food they prepare. On nice days there are a few tables out front, good to sit there except at rush hour cause you are next to the street. They do a lot of to go service so you will see a steady stream of folks in and out.
