I ordered the El Cubano meal. I really like Cuban sandwiches but was a little hesitant to try a "fast food" version. It was loaded with meat (ham and roast beef). It wasn't on pressed bread, but the bun was fresh and tasty. It also had pickles and Dijon mustard. Over all, I liked it and will order it again. The only downside of my meal was the fries. Lions choice is my favorite fast food, the only I regularly get (double king beef fits my macros perfectly). This is the worst LC location in my experience. Staff is much nicer than they used to be and no longer get orders wrong a lot, but quality can be mixed. Not sure if this an oven or user error. Lion's Choice is a St. Louis-based chain restaurant. They are a lot like Arby's but with better roast beef sandwiches. This location is clean and the staff are friendly. Our meals arrived very quickly. The roast beef sandwich included in the kid's meal is tiny. We thought it was a joke. So, I gave my oldest child a large roast beef sandwich which he finished. I think he may have grown out of kid's meals. The hot dog and chicken strips included in the other kid's meals came in large portions. The quality of the food is much better than other chain restaurants. They had so much food that they had trouble finishing it. (More for me.) The ice cream treat included in the kid's meals is that little reminder that Lion's Choice is a great restaurant chain. The attention to details like that and the sauces will keep me coming back for a long time. read more

I always feel bad leaving a less then stellar review but on multiple occasions this place has been not the best experience. I have been multiple times now and the food is always good enough, but it always takes a minute or two for someone to even come up to the register to take an order (it might be easier to just order online if I ever go again). When we came in it took a few minutes for someone to come to the register and there was an employee with their head down in the dining area- understanding they may have been on break I didn't think of anything till they took a drive through order on a headset from the dining area- Once we got our order taken we got the food pretty quickly. Overall I know that this location used to have a lot better service and experience which is to bad because I grew up on lions choice as a kid and loved it! I would recommend maybe just having screens people can order on if their staff is not going to be available to take orders- this may save money on staffing and make the experience better. read more

Stopped in for lunch today around 12:30. There were several tables, 6 or 7 empty but all were dirty so we had to clean our table. Ordered 1 regular roast beef with Swiss and 1 regular roast beef with Swiss meal. They put all the food on 1 plate so we had to go back and ask for a 2nd plate for my order. They didn't put the cheese on one of the sandwiches and the French fry's were barely warm so obviously not freshly cooked. The roast beef sandwiches were good as usual. Lion's Choice used to be my go to fast food, but ever since Covid it has gone downhill. We decided to give it another try. I ordered the traditional roast beef sandwich, fries, and a drink. Almost $10. Yikes! I wouldn't mind so much if it was a big sandwich, but the sandwich seemed much smaller than it used to be. It even seemed like it's a different, smaller bun now. The sandwich and fries were tasty. I like their seasoning salt that they add on their sandwiches and fries. They do serve it differently. Now they put it on a tray with a checkered paper. I like that idea because it reduces waste in the landfill. They no longer have their Ajou sauce out in front where you can get it yourself. We had to ask for it. The server was very nice and actually brought it to our table. The only problem with it was it was cold. Not really worth dipping your warm sandwich in cold Ajou. They did have good music playing. It was very upbeat and gave it good ambience for a fast food. We still always get an ice cream there. Not too many years ago. It was only a dollar now it is three dollars plus for one small cone. Not quite worth adding seven dollars to our dinner. Especially when Ted Drews is right up the street. I'm not sure why lions choice has raised the cost of ice cream so much. it used to be the best ice cream but the last time I got it, it was really gritty. This would have been a five star rating. If the portion size were a little bit larger, the Ajou was not cold, and they would put their ice cream cones under two dollars. I usually also get a baked potato instead of fries, but they were out of them. We got there around 6:15 PM so I guess we should've gotten there earlier. read more

Never again. I'm never going to this location again, I've had it with this place. The last 5 or so times I've been here, both day and evening, the roast beef has been over cooked & over salted, so much so that it tastes like I'm eating a chewy salt block. I've never had this bad of an experience 5+ times in a row at any place. I kept hoping I just came at a bad time or something but obviously that's not the case. Love me some, Lion's Choice. It is a quick and easy fast food fix. The Roast Beef is always so tender and juicy. I like the fact that there actually is a little red tint to it. Other fast food places, over cook their RB, leaving it dried out. The seasoning, also puts Lion's Choice above the others. Speaking of their seasoning, it is now available for purchase in their restaurants. I've grabbed a couple of bottles to use as fill-in's for some of my holiday gifts. Spices/Seasonings are always great gifts for a foodie friend. To accompany their sandwiches, their long thin fries are always hot and crisp. I use a combination of BBQ Sauce and Ketchup for dipping. For those who are fans of horseradish on their sandwich, Lion's Choice offers it as a condiment. Other highlights, that set LC above that other fast food place that serves, "the meats" is crushed ice and soft serve ice cream cones. Oh, I don't want to forget to mention, Orange Freezes. *Update: After sending feedback online to Lion's Choice the manager kindly contacted me and said this is not how their sandwiches are normally made. She also offered 2 meals for a future date. Growing up, my father only allowed us to eat Lion's Choice and Arby's was never to be spoken of in our household. I've always been a fan of their roasted beef and fantastic crispy fries. However, the Chippewa location has been a rude awakening to my previously rose-colored glasses view of the chain. Tonight I ordered a Large Roasted Beef Meal after getting a hankering for a roast beef sandwich. The cashier had a hard time opening the register to take my order, which was okay because I wasn't in a rush. After another employee helped her log in she unenthusiastically asked for my order. Again, it's later in the evening so I understand she's probably tired. I pay and wait for my order. Once it comes out I head home around the corner. I open the Lion's Choice bag and take a bite of my sandwich. Immediately I notice the sandwich is cold, even though I live less than 7 minutes away. The beef also tasted extremely squishy, unlike any other time I've had before. I remove the top bun to discover way undercooked meat and pink stains making the bun all soggy. I know Lion's Choice Roasted Beef is normally a light pink with a hint of brown,but this was full on pink pink and had a really undercooked, squishy texture. My husband took the sandwich back to see if he could get a properly-cooked replacement, but what he was given was the complete opposite of the first sandwich: waaaaaay overcooked. We're talking dark brown, rubber which I have never seen in between two Lion's Choice buns in my life. The bun was also no longer dry and was saturated in beef juice to the point of no return. Rather than trying to go back a third time only to be disappointed, our dog got the sandwich. No luck for dinner for this Type One Diabetic who had already injected insulin for the meal. I'll know better now to not go to this location again, and crossing my fingers for no food poisoning. read more

This was my first time trying Lion's Choice. I was looking forward to it given its history. I ordered a French dip with Swiss cheese through the drive thru. I noticed they had forgotten the cheese, so I parked and went inside to get a new one. The two girls working there had differing opinions on how to address the error...replace with a new sandwich or just hand me a slice of cheese. Surprisingly they chose the latter and gave me a wrapped up slice of cheese that stuck to the paper when I tried to use it. The drink was filled mostly with ice, so I ran short on soda to wash down the meal. Overall, I expected more and felt let down by the experience. read more

Horrible. This was by far the worst fast food that we've ever had. We ordered a King Roast Beef Sandwich and a Regular Roast Beef Sandwich. The King size was no bigger than the regular size and we were still charged the King size price. The beef was a tasteless mess of shredded up meat which was cold and tasted horrendous. The fries were tasteless and cold stubs of potatoes. Arby's food is 50 times better. Also, this place is way overpriced for the amount of food that you get. We had to go eat more food at another restaurant because the portion was so measly. Service at this location was efficient, but the staff was not very friendly. I do not recommend this place unless you want to take a dog there to eat. read more
