Dont blame me. We are not dive bar kinda people. This was Mr. B's pick. Not sure what he was thinking. But he figured this is the kind of place to find good greasy spoon kinda food. He is getting out of hand now that I taught him how Yelp works. So, we came for breakfast. After spending the night at the exclusive Hilton downtown, we had to shake off some of that snobbery. Smelled like smoke when we walked in. There were at least 10 TV screens in this dive bar. Big and roomy, a local gathering place for watching those all important football games. I would describe this as a "period place". By that I mean it was probably new in the 50s. And not a whip of change since. You know, "If it aint broke dont fix it." Stucco exterior, dirt parking lot with large holes disguised as puddles of mud. Even the ladies bathroom had that old fashioned towel dispenser with the continuous roll of blue cotton. Not paper. A real Pinball machine and several other video games, a crane game for winning a stuffed animal. 6 lottery machines and a carnival popcorn machine. A lot of forgotten caps and jackets all hanging on 4 hooks by the door. Two pool tables. Set up area for live country (?) music or (shudder) karaoke. And don't forget we are in U of O Duck country. The sign said GO DUCKS! So, "Go Ducks" (I just said that so I wouldnt get jumped. God help me if I said something about cute little beavers). So, for starters their coffee is good. Not thin and nasty like many a mom and pop cafe tries to pass off. Mr. B ordered a hamburger, me a veggie omelet. Both were real good. Generous amounts of delicious vegetables and cheese in the omelet. The hash browns were crispy good. You know, heart attack crispy. Even the toast was real good, already buttered. The hamburger, overdone (he requested medium rare, but delicious regardless. And he opted for a plateful of healthy alternative salad instead of the obligatory fries. Good job, honey. So, other than the strange looks of "hey, yew ain't bin here before" from the guys at the bar, this was a good spot to kick back and get real food. read more

I went for the fish and chips night at 12.00 dollars and had a really horrible experience. My fish looked like 3 chicken nuggets and my fries were undercooked and the waitress accused me of being drunk because I sent them back! I feel very discriminated against. We have eaten here twice in the past few weeks. The downside, inside appears to be in need of deep cleaning & better cooling system for hot weather. The UPSIDE, really good food including an improvised Philly cheese steak made with burnt ends on homemade a roll. The fries are my new favorite! Crisp outside soft inside not greasy..YUM! I came in with my husband and ordered the fish and chips and got 3 small chicken nugget size pieces of fish and under done fries an s sent them back. The service was really poor because other people got big portions while I got small and then was accused of being drunk because I complained about my underdone fries and small portions. Strike out! I should have known better than to order a French dip in this location. But.... It said that it was house smoked brisket so I rolled the dice. Unfortunately the brisket was sliced very thin which totally dried it out. Sometimes this can be saved by ajus but not this time. I ate a third of it and finally had to spit out the last bite In my napkin. It was served with no sauce so I requested horseradish which was good because it at least gave the sandwich a few bites of hope. The server was ok but I found myself trying to draw her out. When we got there she threw the menu on the table and walked away without saying anything. I would not suggest this establishment for eating. Maybe drinks and lottery but not food.... read more

Just came in today for the wing Wednesday and let me tell you 10/10 recommend. They smoke the wings and they are delicious. You get the sauces on the side which is super cool too. I got the buffalo and teriyaki sauces. I will definitely be back because you really can't get a pound of wings and a side for 10.00 anywhere anymore. read more

I used to like coming here but since the ownership has changed, the food isn't as good as it used to be. The cook was really nice though. The bartenders are forgetful, get orders wrong, ask repeatedly to check on order details, don't know how to refill drinks... let alone how to make drinks! There was no salt or spices in the bloody Mary. It tasted like vodka, tomato juice, and some Tabasco, that's it! I have pretty low standards when it comes to bars/restaurants, I work in the industry, I understand, but when there are only 8 customers in the entire bar, there shouldn't be this many issues :-/ read more

I have been an independent contractor as a kj for over a year... and the new owners are proactive and made positive changes to this establishment! New floors seating and a stage outdoors... the food menus are also a nice change love the Mac and cheese with burnt ends are definately my fav!... Well I have not tried the food at this dive bar, but I some how ended up here on Halloween, and again last night. Halloween was surprisingly fun. They had a few games and it was decorated nice. I never thought I would be back because honestly I guess I am from a different crowd of people. We had ride night last night and we ended up here. It was actually not bad. The patio was really nice. Cute potted flowers every where, nice fire pits, nice patio seating, and a great live band. I even got a glow necklace to take home from the band. There was a lot of people dancing. I didn't because I have a toe injury. But all of us had a great time. One of the gals I was with said the food is not bad. Update I have heard there isn't the best type of people that frequent this place, I know a gal that does hair and her disabled clients purse was stolen from a bar patron. And they don't have video surveillance. I probably won't be back and will veto this place on our ride nights! read more

Jimmy Macs isn't bad but it wasn't great either, the food was pretty mediocre, booze is booze, every time I go the place is pretty quiet. It's not bad, just definitely not great either, if you want a bar that's fairly calm and laid back; this is the place you could go. read more

Been going here for years now - love the atmosphere and employees. The Jimmy-MAC burger is awesome. Where else can you have a burger featuring three different kinds of animal - including the magical pig, which gives us bacon, pork chops, and ham. The egg on the burger makes my cholesterol sing. Just reviewing the food now. Not gonna talk about the noise, the clientele, the germs, etc. I have dined here many times. The food is very good. The only thing I've had that I didn't like was a soup, one time, which was very salty. Another time I was informed (not asked) that a steak I ordered would be substituted by a different kind of steak (very weird). However, this is the only restaurant in town that can make a proper poached egg, and that includes the more upscale restaurants. read more

With daily burger specials, along with standard comfort food, there is something on the menu for everyone. For those of you who do not eat meat, they do offer a vegetarian burger as well as seafood and grilled cheese. These burgers taste like a burger from a bbq in your backyard. My favorite is the bacon cheeseburger with additional avocado on the burger. If I am going to have a heart attack meal, I am really going to do it up! Even though the outside looks like a cry for a health inspection the interior décor is...... really pretty horrible also. Just close your eyes and try to get past this. Lots of wood paneling and occasionally sticky tables. Also every time someone opens the door and walks in from the smoking section, you get a couple of drags of nicotine. Plus the added bonus of watching and being watched by the crowd of video lottery patrons, that is an extra treat. But as real estate agents will tell you "It has that open concept". Which basically means no privacy at all. But their breakfast burrito is awesome. And for $7.00, that is a deal. You can make it the way you want within reason, which makes it good, but their green chili "Verde" sauce is what makes this dish killer. This is the only place I know of in Eugene with this sauce. Turns a regular breakfast burrito into an extraordinary burrito, just a fair warning, you may want to order a side of it. I don't know that I would ever go to this place for anything else. But the burrito ensures that we go here for at least one breakfast per month. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! If you want the best breakfast burrito in town-go here...it's covered in chile verde sauce and so dang good!!! well this is a blue collar working man's bar for sure. Brought here by Mr. happy hour himself. food was cheap and you got what you paid for. drinks were strong and service was super friendly. If you are looking for a dump worse than a dive then you found it. It was far more dirty than a dive, hot and muggy - maybe the owner was trying to replicate the Deep South and filled with smoke. Come on owner - fix the damn door so it's not like a M80 going off every time someone walked in or out. If you enjoy the typical grandfather beer selection you will feel at home here. read more

Although to some people The OT may lack some atmosphere, to me it is full of what feels like family. I have been coming here regularly for nearly 8 years. The food is outstanding and the patio has heaters and fireplaces to keep you warm in the winter. I always feel welcome. read more
