That would never happen if I was sitting alone at a table. The diner is cute and old fashioned with wooden booths--love them! The waitresses treat you like family. They genuinely care about your experience and make sure you're happy with your meal. Anyway, I had the lamb kabob sandwich. On the recommendation of the (wonderful) waitress, I chose to have it cooked medium rare. It came out beautifully, served with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber in a pita half with a yummy dressing. (For once, the first time in my life, there was enough dressing! I always have to ask for more.) The dressing was tasty and distinctive--very enjoyable. Definitely add feta cheese to the order! What's Greek food without feta?! The desserts looked fantastic, but I had no room left. Next time. ***Please know they only accept cash, so come prepared.*** There is a small parking lot (with small spaces) next to the restaurant. The restaurant is located in the section of Braintree that seems to be alive and relatively thriving, unlike so many town centers of moderate income. I finally found a place that has a great eggs, Benedict. They also have homemade corn beef hash. Both are A1 and could be served at any establishment across the country. Dina looks like it's been there for a long time. It has an old time breakfast counter and maybe about 15 to 20 booths and tables. The staff seems like they have also been there for a long time very polite, extremely efficient, well mannered and honest to goodness they seem like it's deep from in their heart. We had some real old-time food and service. In today's market and selection of restaurants if you want breakfast, this is the place to go. I have not tried the mid time day meals yet, but I definitely will be trying them. They also have a small parking lot so there is offstreet parking available. I usually wouldn't give a small diner five stars but they have it all going together if you want a nice old time old fashion, honest to goodness all American pastime Dina with top-notch food I can guarantee for breakfast you will receive nothing but good service and good food at this location. read more

We always get a cup of the chicken and rice soup weather we are having breakfast or lunch. It's awesome! Today we got the stuffed chicken with cranberry and green beans. It was fantastic!!! Olympian Diner & Restaurant has a small private parking lot, and limited 2 hour parking out front, but I just kept missing spots which was kind of annoying. But at least once we made it inside there were a number of free tables, so we just sat ourselves down and waited to receive a menu. The daily special menu listed the day's vegetables and their soups of the day, along with a number of options for lunch and dinner. We ordered a bowl of their corn chowder $2.45/$3.95, Irish Eggs Benedict $8.25 with Corned Beef Hash, and a single slice of Honey Cinnamon French Toast $2.95, which was perfect for our two lightweight appetites. The chowder came quick, with some crackers. It was good with hearty chunks of potatoes and corn kernels, but not quite the sweet sort I prefer. The Irish Eggs Benedict was a bit uneven. It was pretty skimpy on the corned beef hash, and some of it was rather burnt. One egg yolk was hard while the other had just enough gooeyness to be considered a poached egg. The accompanying homefries were also rather small a portion. The Honey Cinnamon French Toast made with cinnamon bread was rather tasty. Service was sufficient - they checked up on us frequently enough. And we were in and out in 35 minutes. The accessible bathroom was tidy enough, but needs a hook. Cash only, but they also had an ATM just inside the entrance. read more

While visiting in Abington, my husband took me to this treasure for lunch. An old time diner, which he used to go in his youth. The food was fantastic. I had a greek chicken wrap that was probably one of the best I have ever ate. My husband had a chicken salad club sandwich which was plentiful and delicious! It's first come first serve seating and you can just seat yourselves if the whole party is in inside. Remember to bring CASH!! There was a lot to love about the Olympian and I struggled between picking 4 and 5 stars. On the side of 5 stars, good food, clean, good service and very good pricing. My only bit is a pet peeve of mine; in a place with high volumes of diners, why can't they use fresh mushrooms instead of canned??? Obviously mushrooms are risky for restaurants because they spoil quickly, but I would think their volume is strong enough that they could properly use inventory and not waste money with spoilage. This is our go-to breakfast place. Everything here is just freaking good. You can't go wrong. My go-to's are either the cheese omelet with raisin toast or blueberry pancakes (with an ice-cream scoop sized ball of butter); and always with a side of the BEST home fries. It is very clear that Olympian has a regular clientele. It's like going to Ma's for breakfast, it gives you that home comfort feeling. Great coffee, always re-filling your cup. Cash only. ATM in diner. Usually ends up being about $20. You seat yourself at a clean table. We have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Small parking lot beside building, we usually get pretty lucky, but there have been times we park across the street at CVS and we haven't been towed yet. read more

Was in a huge rush to grab something quick before we hit the road for a long drive. We so happen to be in the area and found this and stopped in. This place is a very simple breakfast spot. Come in and seat yourself and servers come over and takes your order. Everything comes out at once and bill comes and youre out. It was exactly what we needed at that moment. But i dont think i will stop by again unless i was really close by and starving. The food is okay. I dont feel that the eggs and proteins were very fresh.
