I'm going to level with you - I was actually hoping to go elsewhere (In Easton), but underestimated the breakfast Valentine's crowd. I was hungry, and this place was [relatively] nearby, and had solid reviews. I ordered the No. 4 - The House Special and a coffee. Pancakes, toast, home fries, two eggs, bacon and sausage. I will say that having pancakes AND sausage is always appreciated (and quite rare). Otherwise, other than being a filling meal, there was nothing to write home about. I mean... there is something to write on Yelp about, but there's always something to Yelp about. Same thing with the coffee - solid, but nothing to go out of my way for. Something of note: I prefer my bacon and home fries to be a little more crisp, though I wouldn't call them underdone. This is more preference than anything else. My server, Martha, was very kind and took good care of me. Finally, with the COVID situation - when it gets busy, the operation becomes a little disjointed. There is one person seemingly acting as host, cashier, and take-our coordinator. Who's next in line, and for what? For instance, I went up to pay, and was charged without the option of leaving a tip (until I asked). Breakfast is o.k. Nothing special. Prices are a little high. Only complaint is that I paid bill by credit card and found that tip is automatically added to bill and charged on card before I received receipt and no signature required to pay. I had breakfast here today. Horrible food! I couldn't eat half of it, it was so bad. Food tasted as if it was precooked and just reheated. The sausage was dry and rubbery as if microwaved, home fries were disgusting. And had the nerve to charge almost 30 bucks for two breakfast orders. I will not give my money to a business that serves trash to the community. I was waiting for Chef Ramsey to come in and shut it down! My Boyfriend and I were in town from Chicago visiting his mom and dad. We came across Alexander's Family Restaurant while we were in Brockton and I just so happen to find it on Yelp! We were in the area and I thought it would be nice to grab a quick breakfast and based on its yelp page I thought we couldn't go wrong with this place! I was very happy to say the least and very surprised by their enormous servings! Came in last Wednesday (9/21) just before the lunch hour and perfect timing for brunch! Upon entering we were greeted and welcomed by the friendly staff! We seated ourselves and just before looking over their menu I got a good look at the place and was very happy with what I saw. Alexander's definitely screams family! The atmosphere is very laid back - everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves, it's got that Diner look and feel, and the exposed Kitchen gives you a chance to see the Cooks in the back was a nice touch! Once we were settled in our booth our waitress came by to greet us and take our drink orders. She was really great, very sweet, and really made it a point that we enjoyed our experience! We all ordered off the Breakfast Menu, I went with the Mexican Omelette! The wait for our food wasn't long, we were hungry and ready to eat, the moment our food arrived we were all shocked at the portions! Our plates were packed and we were ready to dig in! Everything was delicious and it was a perfect start to our morning! My Mexican Omelette was packed full of flavor, the potatoes were nicely seasoned and the perfect side dish, and the toast was perfectly buttered! I couldn't have asked for more! Everyone at the table was totally satisfied with their dishes and ended up completely stuffed! There was so much food and they don't skimp on the quality, it was all great! I'd definitely recommend checking this place out, I should mention that they have a pretty hefty menu and have just about cater to everyone!! Most important to know, I only eat here for their breakfast so I only know about the quality and great prices of those items. They have fast, friendly waitstaff, the place is always clean, good coffee which is included with breakfast, fresh food, made to order. I recommend the corned beef hash with poached eggs and the eggs benedict is delish, also can't beat the preices for the portions. Homefries are tasty and cooked to perfection. I have to agree with several Yelpers that the service is REALLY good. Our waitress was attentive, and personable. This place is cash only, which is a bit annoying but I can deal (they have an ATM in the place, after all). My companion's pancakes were lovely, and my bagel was fresh. I ordered an omelette and was very specific with the waitress - NOT well done, softer than my BF after a night of hard drinking - you get the picture, right? Right! Soooo, it came out all brown. Eggs (aka omelettes) are yellow, not brown. Even the waitress noticed and expressed her concern as she put it in front of me. Not wanting to be a total PITA, I thought I'd try it, but alas...too overcooked to stomach. So I sent it back, apologizing (waitress said "no, YOU shouldn't apologize, I told them it looked overcooked). A sweetheart to be sure. So it was redone...and still way too cooked for my taste...cooked average, I'd say - nothing "soft" about it. I didn't have the heart to let her down when she said, "Is it better? I told them they screwed up the first one!" I almost ordered the Eggs Benny ($6 or 7) based on Dan R's review (now regretting that I didn't). Not sure what folks who are complaining about are using as a reference point, but $10.95 for Eggs Benny at IHOP so this place is a STEAL. The best part of our meal was the entertainment that came with the experience. We were treated to a theatrical production of "Imma-gonna-breaka-your-face". The guy in the booth behind us, dining with his ~ 7 year-old daughter and wife, was holding an increasingly loud phone conversation with his mechanic about his "tranny" (the car kind, not the sexual orientation kind). It went back and forth for about 5 minutes over how he was going to sue the guy for not fixing it right the first time, and the mechanic responding that he was right, but that it would take him 8 months to get a court date. The conflict escalated and the conversation finally ended with the diner shouting "Well how's about I come down there and punch you in your face?...............I'll be right there!". Lol. We'll give this place another shot when we are in the area and see what happens. I'll try the Eggs Benny and perhaps we'll get to see a catfight! read more

Me and my families go to place for random breakfast outings on sundays every once and awhile. Usually you seat yourself and a server comes over with in minutes, the prices are pretty fair for the amount you get. Usually I get the big breakfast the one that has eggs, pancakes, bacon etc and split that with both kids along with an extra side of eggs and it feeds us all. And my SO tends get the steak and eggs which is one of the more expensive items which I get but last time what he got for almost $18 wasn't worth it the piece of steak was super small and there was barley any eggs. I usually add a side of the home fries to my plate which I always do forgetting that is really the only item I don't like much there and home fries are always my go to! It seems to vary which I assume depends who is cooking. I like mine soft inside but bit crunchy outside and sometimes they can be super soggy or over cooked but all in all this is a good breakfast/brunch place I will say. Staff is always friendly and they make sure your satisfied and if need refills. And even when it's packed you typically don't wait no more than 20 minutes tops for your food to come out to your table from when you have the server your order. Just make sure to bring cash because I am 99 percent sure they only accept cash and no cards. I've never had anything other than breakfast but it does seem they have a lunch/dinner menu, but I have never really seen them open for dinner. They always seem to be closed late afternoon. But I never have really checked into the hours so I assume they open for dinner only certain nights. read more
