Maybe the strangest French toast I've ever had? Not inedible. Or even bad. Just strange. They made the French toast with grocery store sesame seed Italian bread. Like... what? The breakfast was not bad, though. The bacon was good, the eggs were bland, and the French toast was pretty average. Food was on par with the Black Bear nearby, but the bill at Jimmy's Egg was much, much, much lower. Given the choice of those two restaurants and the nearby iHop, I'd probably come back to Jimmy's Egg. The server was attentive... maybe even too attentive XD read more

I have been coming to jimmy's egg for 30 years. I ate at the first one that ever opened. This jimmy's egg has been at this particular location for about 20 years and was a the go to place for breakfast in Midwest city Oklahoma. They have upgraded the interior twice and this new interior look great. But the Service is still somewhat Sub par with what it had been in the past. And if I want good service I go to a different jimmy's egg. I still of the food and great prices. Update as of 05/19 Doing much better here now. Staff has gotten better. read more

Great location on the northeast side of Air Depot and SE 15th St. Plenty of parking space all around this standalone establishment. When you walk in, you sit yourself. Between the 2 to 3 waiters and waitresses I saw, they did a great job of serving everyone. Menus are located next to the condiments on each table. The waiter was prompt and I ordered my meal right away. I didn't feel rushed. I had the famous Garbage (eggs the way you want it prepared layered with bits of sausage, onions and green bell peppers). You have one choice of side. Food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Great food and service. Definitely try this spot in Midwest City. read more

It's always comforting when I come back to any of these chains here in Oklahoma. I've been frequenting to these restaurants as long as I can remember. For my entire time with my family coming here, we always get the same thing. Why? Because a local saying here is ," if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" The breaded pork chop are truly amazing and greasy. It's a great way to help someone with a hangover and you can get diner styled coffee wth all the refills. I get home fries which used to be crispy but maybe they were in a rush to just get our food done. Scrambled eggs have always been bland because they never season it. For what it is, I'll continue to keep coming here as a loyal customer. But maybe not this location. My favorite one is the one off of classen and expressway. read more

I don't understand the low rating, given the enthusiastic recommendations from several local people. The restaurant was spotless, the waitress friendly, prompt, and hustling. Seating is comfortable and nice. My order was taken and a drink on the table in about 2 minutes. My food came out in 5 minutes - so again, they are doing great. We've been to other Jimmy's Egg locations & enjoyed the experience immensely. Our last time here was so-so; we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt & try again. Bad decision on our part. The Biscuit Debris that we enjoyed so very much at another location came out barely room temperature. Trying to flag down a server to say so was impossible - and we were well before the lunch rush. The only time we saw the server was when she brought the check about twenty minutes later. The serving staff did seem to be enjoying themselves, though, based on the volume of chitter-chatter coming from the kitchen area beyond view of the customers, and the rarity of seeing a server - any server. To say that the restrooms were in need of a refresh goes so far beyond putting it mildly that it borders on whole-cloth untruth. The restrooms at this location were run down and grimy. They had every appearance of a long service life that saw little cleaning and absolutely minimal maintenance. The bus boy was personable, and I know this because I had to ask him to wipe syrup off the table after I sat down. If you are looking for a clean Jimmy's Egg with great food and great service -- pick a different one. read more

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought I was at Jimmy's Egg, not Sunset Hills. **This is not a commentary on the clientele, which understandably skews older. I am speaking of the stench of death commonly experienced when you enter a nursing home.** We opened the front door, and were hit with the smell of human decay. I don't know how else to describe it. It. Just. Smelled. That. Bad. Why didn't we leave. I don't know. We should have turned tail and run. But we didn't. We stayed. Thing is, the place was packed on Friday morning at 9:00 am. The extensive breakfast-centric menu makes the food look quite appetizing. Mr. Bikeman and I both ordered the "Traditional Breakfast" (you pick your eggs, sides, etc...). Thought that would be safe and hard to mess up. How does a breakfast cook mess up link sausage? I don't know, but he or she did. His sausage links, which he could not decide were turkey, chicken or pork, were grayish in color, and minimally browned on one side. It is possible they had been cooked previously and nuked. I ordered bacon "well cooked" and the three slices of thick cut bacon was perfectly done. We both ordered scrambled eggs. Mine were runny inside, his were slightly dry. Both were literally tasteless. The clump of starch (aka hash browns) were nothing but a medium for the color, which hinted at being cooked in butter, but obviously had not been. Also tasteless. It happens to be my birthday today, and my husband celebrated his yesterday. When he did not want to order anything from the "bread" category, he asked if he could sub in an extra link. I cheekily said, "It was his birthday yesterday," and the server interrupted me with a straight face, "Yeah, well it was my birthday this weekend, and I had to work, but I'll ask the cook..." She wasn't being sarcastic, just rude. Okay, back to the smell and generally uncleanliness. I don't mind worn and dated furnishings, but dirty and sticky is unacceptable. The tables chairs were plain gross. The array of bottles of condiments and jams, expected at a breakfast joint, were icky. The carpet deserves it's own paragraph. It was hard to tell if the carpet was low nap, or had suffered from years of shuffling zombies. But it was *slippery*, like it had been lightly coated with Vaseline. I suspect some menu items were embedded in that pile, which contributed to the sheen. To be fair, I know it isn't Vaseline. It is cooking oil. And parking lot oil. And other petroleum products. I don't believe steam cleaning would cure this malady. It needs to be replaced. Everything needs to be replaced, down to the sheetrock. I believe this is the only way that the aroma of decay will be expunged. Although this review may seem melodramatic, I promise. I'm not exaggerating. Took family here this morning and we enjoyed our food. It was a busy Saturday morning and our food took a bit but the service was so friendly and welcoming. My only problem was the roof was leaking at the table next to us and I didn't realize it until way later. The carpet is FILTHY...there's no way they ever vacuum. Too many dirty sticky tables way too close together. There was a strange reddish-brown splatter pattern on one of the air vents in the ceiling & all I could think was "Crime Scene!" The waitress was nice & friendly, but smelled like she'd just had a smoke break...although maybe she always smells that way. Not too appetizing. .When we walked in, we were warmly greeted and told to take any table we wanted. It wasn't overly crowded because of the weather. Our server greeted us and brought our drinks. We placed our orders and then we waited. as I said, it wasn't that busy so it shouldn't have taken 20-25 minutes to get our food. When it finally arrived, the server dropped it and took off before my daughter could ask for sour cream and I could remind her that I had ordered salsa. I decided to take a bite and found that the omlette was lukewarm, at best. My daughter's omlette wasn't much better. I looked for our server and she was chit chatting with people she seemed to be familiar with. After not being able to get her attention, we were able to flag down another server and make our requests of her. When she returned with our sour cream and salsa, she asked if our server was the lady with the blonde hair. I said yes, to which she replied "make sure you tell her I took care of you and that I was sweet about it." She may have been kidding (which I don't think she was) but I was very put off by that comment considering that our server, was Karen, the Manager (at least that's what it said on her shirt). I felt her comment was unproffessional and uncalled for. When Karen finally did decide to check back on us, she did a walk by, without really bothering to stop to hear our reply. On my way out of the restaurant I commented to my daughter that " this is what we get for not checking Yelp. We need to check it so we can find a good place for tomorrow." Imagine my surprise when I did read the reviews and saw that other locations got good ratings. Based on the reviews, I would definitely try one of the other locations. Sadly the new remodel cut about a third of their floor space and seating meaning it took more than an hour to get seated and get our food. There was already often a short wait , who thought it was a good idea to force an increase in wait time for your customers? For the next 25 minutes our waitress walked back and forth past our table serving two other tables and never even hinting at taking our order. People started coming into the restaurant and our waitress continued to ignore us. The final straw was when she started taking the order at a table who arrived 20 minutes after we did. I enjoy coming to Jimmys Eggs. First of all, two reasons why I gave it five stars. First, in my opinion it's the best chain breakfast place in OK when it comes to their quality of food and options. Now if I was to compare it to Black Bear in Seattle or Whildberry in Chicago, I would give it a three but for Oklahoma, especially in this area there is not many breakfast places around that serves good breakfast besides IHOP. The prices are fair with the amount of food you get. Cinnamon roll pancakes are really good. I have been coming to this location for the past year. I walked in today and they completely remodeled the restaurant. New color painting, new booths, chairs and tables and new carpet. Even new light fixtures. The service was mediocre at best, and the food was inferior in flavor to food served at other Jimmy's Egg locations. Given that they share a menu and probably suppliers I have to assume the cooks just aren't trying as hard here. While other reviews have complained about the advancing age of the regulars, it never bothered me because I'm not a geriophobe. The Latino music coming out of the back of the resturan was annoying, the fabric on the booth seats was greasy and nasty. The walls were covers in dried crusty food and what ever else, my wife and I were there for 50 minutes for a simple breakfast, hash browns were cruchy on the outside and soggy in the middle, corned beef hash was burnt to a crisp on one side. The eggs were covered in oil. None of the food had any flavor what so ever, will never go back. My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast this morning and it was pretty busy. I was just looking for a decent breakfast and a cup of coffee. Upon receiving my coffee, I noticed the sugar wasn't quite pouring so I took off the lid to examine it. Immediately after I removed the lid I discovered LIVE ANTS crawling in there. I had already drank some of my coffee, and how many other people had consumed theirs not knowing it was potentially full of live bugs?! When the waitress came over she offered no apology and I had to ASK her to replace my coffee. Our food arrived promptly, and when I went up to the cashier to pay I had to wait a few mins while she and two of her friends finished eating their disgusting microwaved Doritos nachos. When I asked for the manager to come over and tell her about the incident with the sugar, she assumed I was talking about how they put crackers or rice in them to keep them from clumping..I didn't want to have to yell it out in a full restaurant that I found ants in my food, but since she chose to loudly speak over me I had no other choice but to loudly proclaim the presence of bugs. When this Jimmy's Egg opened, the food was served hot and had good taste. However, this being our second visit within the last two and half weeks, I cannot remain silent any longer! This restaurant has dropped into the gutter as far as food quality and building cleanliness goes. It's like the owner, manager, & cooks just gave up and have no more pride in presenting quality food at an acceptable temperature! The last two times my wife and I ate at this location in Midwest City, the plates were cold and the food was only lukewarm for the first bite or two. The hash browns tasted as if they were soaked in water before they were warmed to give them a brown color to simulate crispy. When served, they were cold, as were the eggs, and totally mushy, absent of anything tasting like breakfast. The hash browns also had a grayish greasy overcast which made them look even more unappetizing. Now for the biscuits & gravy! I was served two biscuits with gravy. One biscuit was baked longer than the other because it had a lightly browned texture on the surface; the other biscuit looked anemic as it had very little color to it. Both biscuits were cold and the whipped soft butter would not melt at all, no matter how long a person would wait. The gravy was barely warm! It would have been better if the gravy was served hot! The server said I should have said something about the food and he would have changed it out. I don't blame the server for the terrible quality of the food; that responsibility lies with the owner, manager, and cook ("chef" is too high of a title to describe the preparer of this mess.). If Oklahoma City has a health department, they need to look into closing this restaurant until the place is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized and their personnel are trained in proper cleaning and they acquire a chef that takes some pride in serving meals at the proper temperatures. In the meantime, try the Jimmy's Egg restaurant in Shawnee, OK. When you come into that restaurant, they greet you and seat you at a clean table! The food is served hot and the wait staff does not ignore it's customers. Also, the Shawnee restaurant gives military personnel a discount. I will not frequent Jimmy's Egg in Midwest City, OK any longer. I don't need the indigestion. read more
