    Chicken & Waffles
    Jolorene G.

From the outside it looks inconspicuous, just your ordinary breakfast joint. The menu has some unique items like a variety of skillets, eggs benedicts, and the usual breakfast staples. Initially I didn't know what to expect. Relatives from Vancouver recommended this place for brunch saying the Chicken & Waffles were to die for. We ordered the Bulgogi Skillet, Pulled Pork Skillet, and a few orders of Chicken & Waffles. The food came out pretty quick. My plate arrived with a mountain made out of one big waffle, lightly drizzled with syrup and topped with fried chicken and a sunny side up egg. I took my first bite and I was blown away! It was a masterpiece! Probably one of the best waffles I've had in a while. The crisp exterior and the inside was light and airy. It wasn't too sweet; the syrup adds a nice subtle sweetness. The plump pieces of chicken with a perfect crunch in every bite. Thumbs up! The Bulgogi Skillet with the crispy shredded hash browns was excellent! I would definitely come back just for these two things!

Two eggs with toast and ham, side of fries

Very few places get breakfast / brunch right and this is one of those places. Ordered two eggs with Ham, toast and a side of fries. The eggs were cooked perfectly, sunny side up. The toast was done well and the fries were absolutely delicious. The coffee was really good as well. Polite service and relaxed ambience Will definitely come back here again to try more options including something from the lunch menu. Good food, good ambience and good people. Two thumbs up !!

I've been to the location in Port Coquitlam but have heard from friends that the Maple Ridge location is better. We came on a weekend afternoon for brunch and arrived to a little line up. The wait was around 20 minutes. The interior is quite spacious but the décor is outdated. My bf commented that the men's washroom was really dirty. After speaking with the staff, we learned that this location is not related to the location in Port Coquitlam. I found the menu here smaller with less variety, but with more classic dishes. We ordered the smoked salmon benny and a mushroom and ham omelette. My bf really enjoyed the smoked salmon benny. He mentioned that the flavours were well balanced, and you could taste each of the components though they were a touch heavy with the hollandaise sauce. The shredded hashbrowns were a tad too crispy; almost like Hickory sticks. I was quite disappointed with my omelette. My ideal omelette is one that has a runnier and softer interior and is fluffy in texture. The omelette was overcooked, and the filling did not stick to the omelette. It was like an egg crepe wrapped around ham and mushroom. The hashbrown chunks were more like roasted potatoes. The potatoes at the Port Coquitlam location are cooked with garlic and onion, but not the ones here. There seems to be a lot of regular customers here though we felt service was mediocre. One thing I would point out is that while we didn't notice it inside the restaurant, we walked out smelling like oil/grease. Our shirts and pants smelled so strong that we had to go home to change because of the lingering smell. Overall, this is a decent breakfast/brunch joint at reasonable prices, but nothing excited us nor was the experience memorable.

    Breakfast Menu, you're welcome.

Quaint, rustic and modern, this mom and pop cafe is serving up some serious competition for the brunch-y food group. If you enjoy authentic comfort food with some dishes exhibiting a Korean fusion twist, Jimmy's Lunch Box is worth visiting. Small, but efficiently run, we went around 11:30am and waited about 30 to 45 minutes for a table. The boyfriend ordered the "Steak N Eggs" and I asked for "Chicken N Waffles". Both were beautifully presented and delicious, but the Steak N Eggs was the sure winner. Complete with Bulgogi Beef Steak, egg, tofu, warm kimichi slow and deep fried rice -the dish tasted phenomenal together. Flavours were balanced and tasty. The "Chicken N Waffes" was good too, topped off with thigh meat and a maple syrup soaked waffle, but it seemed to shine a little less next to its counterpart. I had zero expectations going in my first time, but I was impressed. If you're looking for a nice weekend brunch, different than the big franchise out here, but with more substance, quality and heart than this place might be for you.

Wonton soup and a side! Flavor was decent.

Can't beat these prices and customer service!! I was welcomed warmly and really enjoy the rustic ambiance! I also really like how they serve some classic brunch/lunch dishes with a fusion twist. I got the lunch special which was a ham and Swiss sandwich on sourdough, and a side of wonton soup for 7.95!!!!! The food was more on the simple side but you can't beat that price. The food came SO fast - the soup in 5 minutes and the sandwich in 10. The sandwich was perfect, crispy bread and satisfying. The wonton soup was a little simple and the wonton meat would benefit from some seasoning. They also topped the soup with sesame oil which I don't like but that's just a personal preference. What really makes this place amazing is the price and the attentive customer service. The servers were friendly, welcoming and attentive. The only loss of stars would be for flavor as they could be intensified a bit!! But will definitely be coming back to support this restaurant :)

Oh my gosh, we were out this way, without much breakfast had, so looking for brunch-ish? Ronny's was outstanding! We missed the lunch rush I think, more were leaving than coming in, but I'd say they do a good lunch, or people wouldn't be there. Did I mention they are out of the way a bit? Don't let that deter you, go there, and you'll be like us, will find a way to decide, we need to go to Maple Ridge! I love the interior with a splash of Italia, but decor is full of understanding what the purpose is. It's about feeding people in the traditional sense. You can eat in, take away ready, or take it home warm it up and feed your family. How refreshing it is for us that love the old world mindset. K's Chef's Special with fries was so good. The fries remained hot until the last one was devoured, how do they do that? She ate half the sandwich and had to box the other half. My borscht side with my Turkey BL sandwich was so good I also brought a half sandwich home. I could have finished it, but we would have had to stop for a nap prior to getting all the way home. This might surprise those that have read this far, but we are going back for sure, and you should find a reason to do the same.

It's rustic in that honest, country way: wood, warmth, and a smallish-town Squamish vibe that makes you slow down whether you meant to or not. The location does half the work for the ambiance, the rest comes from the feeling that someone actually cares about feeding you well. This is home-cooked brunch with intention. Portions are generous without being sloppy, and every plate feels thought out, like it's been tested by real people who eat breakfast for a living. The pancakes are the headline act--huge, fluffy, unapologetic, and exactly what you want when you're leaning back in your chair wondering if you should order another coffee or surrender to a food coma. And if the night before got a little loose, the double Caesar is a public service: bracing, restorative, and delivered without judgment - oh my aching head. What really seals it, though, is the staff--genuinely welcoming, on their game, and clearly proud of the place. The Crabapple Café isn't trying to be trendy or precious. It's just very good at what it does. A must-try in Squamish, especially if you believe breakfast should be comforting, filling, and a little bit healing. This is not our first time, and definitely not our last. The cafe has become our way station before heading up to Whistler. CHEERS!!!

I thought it wouldn't take too long since there were only two of us, but I greatly underestimated how many people were ahead of us. Upon arrival, there were still about 20 people on the list ahead so we ended up waiting over an hour. When we were finally seated, service was reasonably quick. Coffee is about $4 for drip coffee and about $7 for a mocha. We ordered both the eggs benny with bacon and the Dutch baby bowl to share. I was impressed by the portion sizes, definitely a good spot to choose if you're hungry! I had to box up almost half of my food as I couldn't finish it all. The Dutch baby has sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes and salad under the eggs, so it is quite a substantial meal. We both enjoyed all of the components to each dish, but for me, the bacon was absolutely perfect and my favourite thing on the plate. Thick cut, not overly fatty and had tons of flavour. I would absolutely order this again; I just wish there had been a bit more hollandaise. The server managed to always pop up at the right time for coffee and water refills, and was quick to bring the check when I asked for it. It was fairly loud in the dining room due to the number of people talking and eating, but not a deterrent to go back. I'd just try to join the wait list a bit earlier next time.

I was excited to visit Eastsound and did some research on the current food vibe. Being a caterer/baker myself I was super excited to check out Brown Bear Baking and "treat" our group to some of their bakes. Sadly we were pretty disappointed in 2/3 of our purchases. First of all, the sticky bun was underbaked, doughy with no spring to the roll. I will say that their "sticky" was delicious. On the other end of the spectrum the blueberry peach almond coffee cake was burnt and extremely dry. My daughter did enjoy her peanut butter cream filled sandwich cookie so, points for that. What makes me sad is that I am not sure when I will get a chance to return to see if it was an off day for them and also, food prices are SO high it is disappointing to basically throw away $15 worth of food. Lastly, I am not sure what it is...but what happened to "service with a smile"?....it seemed lacking at most of the places we patronized yesterday.
