The new Jimmy's is a good solid joint. Props for the non-smoking, even if you like to go outside and puff with the "real smokers" now and again. I am very nostalgic about L.A. places so I miss the charm of the old place and its location. But.. They still have the great American Fare with some unique twists and a good traditional burger and such to order off the menu. And Hey..They make a good French Fry too huh? The staff seems to still be nice and attentive and and attractive. (Hot waitresses and bartenders may or may not matter to some) . The new digs also seem to offer more space and opportunity for entertainment etc. Perhaps a better layout for a sports bar as far as seeing a TV. Sure you cant hit Holiday Lanes on foot after an evening at Jimmy's but , go shoot a round of golf at Hawk and hit Jimmy's after. If you havent been there, order something that offers the chipolte spicy ranch. Good stuff. Great place for a gathering with friends- good food, good beer, great service, inexpensive menu, tv's and- most importantly- Jimmy's is smoke free. What else could you want for casual night out? Try the Hawaiian pizza- its awesome. read more

This was probably my worst experience at Jimmy's ever! I visit on multiple occasions both for lunch and dinner and you would think a slow Sunday afternoon/dinner would be a breeze. Far from the case. It started poorly with the service. One server came and took our drink order only to tell us another server would be helping us. Twenty minutes later, no drinks and no sign of the new server. We finally get our drinks and order. I'm not sure if the server put the order in as again we wait. Finally, I go to the bar and tell the bartender I'll pay for the drinks and we need to cancel the order since it has taken so long. Amazing the food shows up while I'm doing this. In delivering the food, a cup of soup is dropped and shatters adding to the experience. At this point, we tell her it needs to be to go. She takes the broken soup off the bill but basically a hollow sorry about the whole experience. I've had better service at a fast food place. I'll think long and hard before I go back. We ending up eating at another place, great service and the food was quick. read more

Food is good but the service is quite poor. First the waitress tells us that the beer list is old and inaccurate, but puts it back on the table for the next customer to deal with. Then as we're starting on our food she needs to "cash us out" NOW because she has to leave. Is that all about getting your tip? I wanted to say thank you for the amazing experience the Jimmy's staff help provide to my family and I last night. The staff helped to make our gender reveal party extremely special and a lot of fun. We all had an amazing time. The manager was very friendly, accommodating, fun and amazing. She made us feel like we were the only customers in the whole packed restaurant. The rest of the staff was also amazing. They were wonderful with drink and food orders, always there for us and fun to be around. The food was all correct, hot, yummy and fast. We were so impressed with our experience. I would recommend Jimmy's to anyone! Thank you so much! if I could vote a zero I would Jimmys Pub is probably the worst place I have been in my many years of eating out in the area the service was terrible the 2 times I have been there the first time we waited almost 45 minutes for our salads, and when we asked for a manager, we also waited another 20 for her to show up at our table, and this was on a slow night. our waitress on our first visit was new, she had no help from anyone else, she finally brought out our salads at the same time as our food. BIG NO NO in my book to "make up" for the inconvinence they caused, the manager took 5% off our bill, which didn't even cover the 4 salads we never recieved. the second time we went there it was a little better, still took forever to get our food and everything else I highly discourage anyone in the east lansing/lansing area from going to jimmys pub. you will get crappy service and a management staff that doesn't give a crap if your service or experience matters, they are just trying to get you in and out the door asap so they can serve the drunk students of the town. Stopped by last night after the MSU basketball game. I really enjoyed the Blu Cheese Burger and my wife had a Calzone. The burger was cooked exactly how I ordered and the Calzone was very tasty, although it could have had more cheese. Fries were just ok...nothing special. It would also have been nice to see a larger craft beer selection from a variety of our local brewery's. My wife and I went here for dinner last night. We had the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer. It was so good! They serve it with fried pita. It probably has a billion calories but it's tasty. I ordered the meatball sub and my wife had the French dip sub. I had the French fries and she had onion rings. After eating half the appetizer we could barely finish half our entree. Jimmys is a great place to just hang out. Never seems to be to loud or crowded. The whole place is non-smoking, which seems odd given its location in the middle of thousands of student apartments, but is nice for those non-smokers. I smoke myself so this is a bit of a drag in the winter. Keno, Pull tabs, some megatouch machines and a pool table are there for entertainment. This is my 3rd time and last. First time they put the wrong cheese on my salad, and the waitress argued that feta and gorgonzola are the same. The second time I waited to be greeted at the door for a seat for 10 min. There was very few people in the restaurant, it was slow and nobody cared. This last time we were greeted with napkin right away. Then waited 10 min for the server to return. My mother (76yrs) got up to find our server sitting at the bar. After taking our order, she returned twice to ask about salads that went the pasta and then the one for the pizza. When the bill came we noticed they did not take off the happy hour discount. It was written on two boards in the restaurant. The manager came over and agreed that it was on the board, and was getting ready to make an excuse with an attitude. I asked that she go change the boards as that was false advertising and maybe an apology. She got an attitude and rudely asked if I wanted my $1 and then walk away any by us with a rude look/attitude. Needless to say this is the first meal my kids did not finish as the food was not good nor was the service. read more

We go to Jimmy's on a regular basis. The food is always fresh and good. I love getting salads there because it is fresh. They also have a variety of choices from pizzas, sandwiches and dinners. My family loves their pizza so much we get it to go often. The staff is always friendly and attentive. There are a number of televisions, if there is something you want to watch, they will turn one of the televisions to that station. They also have quite a few beers on tap and several wine choices. I love that this is not a "chain" restaurant. This is a locally owned restaurant that has it's own character and style. read more

They just changed their menu and were pushing the 12" pizzas, so I got one. It was terrible - half the pizza was crust that had air bubbles in it. I ordered one a few days later thinking the other one might have just been an outlier, but received the same quality. They were comparable to a mediocre frozen pizza or Little Caesar's. Their 8 inch pizzas, which they've removed, were hand tossed crust pizzas and very good. I also have gotten the meatloaf before. I used to like it, but now it's a really thick slab of meatloaf that wasn't cooked fully through. Jimmy's - please go back to the order menu with 8" hand tossed crust pizza and thin cuts of meatloaf! read more

Go to Jimmy's a couple of times per month. Went today at about 1:15 for lunch and left after 10 minutes with no one stopping by to take an order, or even acknowledge our presence. Food has always been good but service is spotty. I have walked out once before without being served, but thought it was just an off day. I won't be back again for a long while. read more

This is a convenient location, but rarely go here, and my last visit confirmed why. We stopped for lunch on a Sat. afternoon, restaurant was not busy at all. We placed our order, and I specifically said, twice, that I did not want mushrooms on my sandwich. After waiting 15 minutes to take our order, then another 20 minutes to get our food, my sandwich came with mushrooms. I waited another 15 min. for waitress to return, told her I didn't want the order with mushrooms, so waited another 20 minutes for the correct order. It was not worth the wait, either. The service here was absolutely amazing! Being in the restaurant business and knowing how stressful it can be with large parties at night, they handles everything very well. The party before us was very rude and disrespectful to the manager and staff. They were supposed tolerable by 6 so we could have our party at 630 and they refused to leave. The manager and staff had multiple yelling at them and telling them they would not leave. So the manager and staff gave us a different area to have our surprise part of our party and while they got the other group removed and the room cleaned. They then helped us set up and got drinks and appetizers in within minutes of us being in our correct room. Food was very good and again the service was amazing! My friends ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. The pita chips that came with it were so salty, we could only handle a few and had to stop. I had the bruschetta and the garlic and basil flavor was barely present. The basil was so finely chopped in the tomatoes, it was hardly noticeable. I asked for basil chiffonade and that made it better. I ordered the crab rangoons and they came with a sauce that had a pretty intense orange flavor that just wasn't that desirable. My brother ordered the smallest size pan pizza. The crust was soggy and the ham seemed pretty much uncooked. My friends had the margherita pizza and they said it was alright. read more

Disappointing. We purchased a Groupon for Jimmy's a couple of weeks ago, we went there for dinner tonight and were told we could not use the Groupon. Never was it clearly posted that it could not be used until next year. The waitress said many other people had come in to use theirs only to find out that it was not being honored yet. This is a small neighborhood pub - we have never been there before - They have had Groupon's available all year why would they set it up so that if would not be able to be used until a month after purchase? Deceitful. Management could care less we were unhappy with the circumstances. We paid our bill, left a 20% tip and will never return. I also expect #groupon needs to refund with cash - not credit since we will not be going back. read more
