This is southern cooking at its finest. The staff is super friendly and there is a lot of seating--booths on one side and tables on the other. Everything is fried fresh to order, from the pork rinds that you can even choose the seasoning to the juiciest chicken breast you've ever had, and the delightfully seasoned cat fish down to the mouthwatering fried pickles slices. And you already know that mac n cheese was super cheesy and creamy. I'd go here everyday if my arteries would allow it. Also had their peach cobbler and blackberry cobbler and both were perfection. If you're like me and have driven by this place forever swearing to try it one day, then consider this your sign to do those taste buds of yours a solid.

So, I've heard a friend or two tell me they liked this catfish place called Jim Pa's. Supposedly they won some awards for their food. I am here to tell you this place has the BEST fried fish I have EVER had. Not only that, the fish is so good I didn't want to ruin it by using tartar sauce or malt vinegar. I'm not kidding. This place is truely a hidden gem... or am I just late to the party. The fried shrimp were delicious as well. I had the collard greens , Mac and cheese, and coleslaw. Everything was perfectly seasoned. For dessert, peach cobbler. Stop whatever you are doing and goto Jim pa's and get a fried fish filet. Even if you aren't sure if you like catfish, you will!

    Blackberry cobbler almost all gone!

EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS! Every. Thing. My husband was in the mood for fish and chips, so I searched Yelp and found Jimpa's. It had been years since we have been there, and now this restaurant will be on our regular rotation. The staff is fabulous. So friendly and helpful, all of them! We enjoyed catfish, fried okra, greens, and hush puppies (the best homemade hush puppies I've ever had in my life!). My husband had blackberry cobbler. Truly, everything was delicious. Fresh, homemade, seasoned properly. I highly recommend Jimpa's!!

We stopped by for lunch. The place were pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon. Food were great. Staff were polite. Can't complain. Definitely worth stopping by if you happen to be around the area.

This pepper was sweet and not too spicy.

Food, wonderful. Service was also great. Ambience was as southern as it gets. This place has my winnahs stamp of approval! Go try em.

The chicken is amazing. The fish is hand breaded and out of this world. Everything was hot and fresh.

Great southern food. Fried catfish, fried chicken. All the sides... all done well! Great service, friendly staff. Cute diner-type vibe.

Had to write another review because Jimpa's never misses! Every time I visit, the food is hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside while staying juicy and tender inside. The catfish? Flaky, crispy, and packed with flavor. The onion rings are massive and have that perfect crunch with every bite. And let's talk about the new apple fried pie--WOW! It's a must-try. If you haven't been to Jimpa's yet, you're seriously missing out!

Comes with your choice of one side and I got the sweet potato fries which were good but not much different from other places. I would definitely go back again for for the Chicken and Waffles but am sure there are other great menu selections like corned beef reuben sandwich or chicken fried steak.

It was fairly crowded when we arrived on a Saturday late afternoon, but we were seated right away. Our waitress was super nice and attentive but didn't know the specials or the answers to our questions. It's a casual place with lots of parking, and a very southern type of "diner." I had the fish tacos (grilled) and tater tots. I enjoyed the tacos and appreciated the amount of fish and toppings, but they were very hard to eat. I was able to pick up the first one without making too much of a mess but by the time I got to the second one, the tortilla was too soggy and I had to eat it with a fork and knife. The tater tots were fine, just regular frozen tots, but they weren't even hot when I received them. There were two things that knocked down the rating. The food took forever to come out! And one plate came out several minutes after the others. More seriously, one of our party has a food allergy and when our waitress checked with the kitchen about what dishes she could have, she didn't seem to be able to get a straight answer. Idk if the kitchen staff just didn't know but that seems kind of dangerous... Luckily she picked something that doesn't typically have this ingredient and was fine. Overall everyone enjoyed their meals but I don't think anyone was particularly wowed. Feelings were mixed on the fried okra. The fried squash could have been amazing but they were huge inconsistent-sized pieces of squash. While one friend enjoyed her burger, it was so messy and impossible to pick up. I do appreciate that the sides were marked if they had meat in them. We got two desserts to go - a slice of pecan pie and a slice of strawberry cake. I was disappointed in the pecan pie. It was a small piece for the price and it wasn't great. If it was delicious, I wouldn't mind paying. The slice of cake was a decent size but was also nothing special, although I think it was enjoyed more than the pie. I also have mixed feelings on listing the cash and card prices. I get it, but I'd rather just know I'm going to be paying a whatever percent convenience fee for using a card.

I went in thinking this was just a chain and the quality would be roughly the same as a fast food chain. Boy, was I wrong. The sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit was fantastic. Honestly, I should have ordered two and skipped the cheesy grits. The biscuit was warm but held up. The sausage was flavorful, and the egg was cooked to perfection. You order at the counter, and they bring your food out, so there is not a lot of interaction with the staff. That said, the cashier was friendly, and the chef came out at some point to talk baseball with my son. Not the cheapest meal, but I happily paid a little more for this than something from McDonald's. On a scale of 1-5: Food - 5 Service - 5 Price - 4

We just saw it driving by and were hungry for breakfast. Price shock hit me. Yelp said $10-$20 per person and it was every bit of that and more for two breakfasts and two coffees. I guess that's not too much for a treat but I certainly couldn't afford that for breakfast on a regular basis. They were packed which was a good sign but the restaurant was chaotic. When you go in you get in line and order at the counter. Then they bring the food out. You can pick up a menu to look at while you wait in line. Service took a while but it was made to order and they were crowded. I got biscuits and sausage gravy and added eggs and a cinnamocha coffee. My wife got the avocado toastie with a praline mocha. The biscuits were ok. Not as good as what I make at home but not bad for store bought. A bit heavy not light or fluffy. But ok. At home I would have split my biscuit in half and put gravy on it open faced. They just pour gravy over the top. Not bad but changes the ratio of gravy to biscuit. The gravy is good. Not as good as what I make at home but good. Has a smokey hint that was different but really good. The avocado toast was good with a sunny side up egg that was cooked perfectly. Overall I can't go over 4 with the price. The food was good but not great. I am leaning more towards 3 stars than 4 but I will go 4 as the coffees were excellent.
