3.5 stars. This is the second time we've eaten here and I remembered really liking it but was less impressed this time. It was fairly crowded when we arrived on a Saturday late afternoon, but we were seated right away. Our waitress was super nice and attentive but didn't know the specials or the answers to our questions. It's a casual place with lots of parking, and a very southern type of "diner." I had the fish tacos (grilled) and tater tots. I enjoyed the tacos and appreciated the amount of fish and toppings, but they were very hard to eat. I was able to pick up the first one without making too much of a mess but by the time I got to the second one, the tortilla was too soggy and I had to eat it with a fork and knife. The tater tots were fine, just regular frozen tots, but they weren't even hot when I received them. There were two things that knocked down the rating. The food took forever to come out! And one plate came out several minutes after the others. More seriously, one of our party has a food allergy and when our waitress checked with the kitchen about what dishes she could have, she didn't seem to be able to get a straight answer. Idk if the kitchen staff just didn't know but that seems kind of dangerous... Luckily she picked something that doesn't typically have this ingredient and was fine. Overall everyone enjoyed their meals but I don't think anyone was particularly wowed. Feelings were mixed on the fried okra. The fried squash could have been amazing but they were huge inconsistent-sized pieces of squash. While one friend enjoyed her burger, it was so messy and impossible to pick up. I do appreciate that the sides were marked if they had meat in them. We got two desserts to go - a slice of pecan pie and a slice of strawberry cake. I was disappointed in the pecan pie. It was a small piece for the price and it wasn't great. If it was delicious, I wouldn't mind paying. The slice of cake was a decent size but was also nothing special, although I think it was enjoyed more than the pie. I also have mixed feelings on listing the cash and card prices. What a great diner! There is plenty of parking in a small strip mall. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The patio is quite large. They have a great selection of items. Diner items like meatloaf and veggie plates. I love that the vegetables Were marked if they have meat in them. There were a lot Of options that were meat free. I got the mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese, broccoli casserole tomato and cucumber salad. The broccoli casserole Seems like it had been rewarmed a few times. Sunday afternoon and looking for a spot off the beaten path and found this little gem! From the moment we walked in, we could tell it was different. The staff were all smiling and energetic and made us feel very welcome. Our server, Jessica, was all smiles and friendly. She made several recommendations based on her favorites. Hubs chose the turkey and dressing while I opted for the pecan pork chops with blueberry chutney! I wouldn't say it was a flavor explosion but it was very good. Visited on November 29th. We walked in expecting a good experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. We were barely greeted by the group of four staff members at the podium. A young lady hurried us to a dirty booth until I requested a different table. After two minutes, a man took our drink orders (Sprite, hot water with lemon, and iced water). While we were looking over the menu, another man approached us, asking if we were ready to order, informing us that the kitchen was closing soon. When I asked for the exact closing time, he replied, "now." This was confusing as other tables were still enjoying their meals. Our waiter, seemingly unaware of any kitchen closing, took our orders for a shrimp basket and a spicy po'boy special. There was confusion over the sides; we weren't informed about additional charges for substitutions, like the mac and cheese. The fries were okay, but the po'boy was disappointing with stale bread and lacking spice. I ended up eating the shrimp with a fork, which was the only part I enjoyed. My daughter liked the shrimp but found the mac and cheese mediocre. Throughout our meal, staff members sat at the bar, some wiping down tables and putting chairs up. New customers were turned away, being told the restaurant was closed. Our bill included a charge for a tea we never ordered. Though I mentioned it and assumed it was removed, it remained on the final bill along with extra charges for the side substitutions. Despite the waiter being nice and in training, the overall rushed service and mediocre food were disappointing. I tipped 18% for the waiter's effort, but the experience left much to be desired. The Good: Our server, Amy, was amazing. The food was plentiful and delicious, and she was easily one of the best servers we've ever had there. She was attentive, friendly, and truly elevated the experience. The Not-So-Good: I'm giving four stars only because of how things were handled before the manager stepped in. Had she not come out to make things right, this would have been a one-star review. I do appreciate that she took ownership and corrected the situation. One ongoing frustration is the 3.5% surcharge for using a credit card. Personally, I don't believe customers should be penalized for paying with a card, and I won't give five stars to a restaurant that adds this fee. We've loved this place since moving to Cobb County 11 years ago. It was always our go-to spot for our family (originally 8, now 6). The selection was great, portions were generous, prices were fair, and service was consistently solid. Unfortunately, since the pandemic, the customer service experience has noticeably declined. Since then, we've visited 8-10 times. Nearly every visit has involved a 30-60 minute wait for a table, followed by another 30-40 minutes for food after being seated. On two occasions, we left after waiting over an hour despite seeing open tables. We were told they couldn't combine two adjacent tables because they were in different sections. Each time we expressed our frustration to the hostess, but nothing seemed to change. Yesterday followed a similar pattern. When we arrived, we asked about the wait time and were simply told to "go sit over there." We waited about 35 minutes while watching smaller parties who arrived after us get seated. When we asked for an update, we were told they didn't know and that it might be another 45 minutes. After continuing to wait and seeing no progress, we decided to leave. When I expressed our frustration, the hostess didn't seem concerned and simply offered to remove us from the list. As we were leaving, a manager ran out to the parking lot to apologize and asked for a chance to make it right. She followed through and seated us as soon as two tables opened up. I genuinely appreciate her effort. If she hadn't stepped in, we likely wouldn't have returned or continued recommending this restaurant to friends. That said, we're hesitant to return as a larger family group. We may come back for a date night, but not with a larger party. A reservation system for bigger groups would make a big difference -- I'd even be willing to put down a deposit to secure a table. read more

The food was good southern choices and seasoned so well. I had the black-eyes peas, collard greens and fried okra. The 3 selection veggie plate. It was made perfectly-comfort food at its best! We also had the Reuben, one traditional and one without bread due to gluten allergy. Had the French dip with French fries but the au jus spilled on the plate and it made the sandwich soggy. Wow!!! I came here a couple of days ago with my mom and grandparents. I am SO glad they invited me. It was incredible. The side salads are so big. Wow!! This place is Comfort Food Central! This was our first visit and we were guided here by the Atlanta Passbook. I am so thankful because I have never had a better quality comfort meal anywhere. I had the Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes & gravy and a side of Corn Casserole. The chicken was so moist & tender and unbelievably flavorful (lookout Colonel!). The corn casserole exploded with savory flavors of peppers, onion, etc. My wife had the Turkey dinner - sliced turkey, awesome stuffing, fresh cranberry relish, mashed potatoes & gravy, and mac 'n cheese.
