What can I say? They are all unique and delicious. Just pick one and go home and bake it. Nothing better than a homemade pot pie.

Its honestly insane that I've been coming here since the beginning and have never taken the time to…read morewrite a review. I remember the first time I walked in with my bestie. RC had approached her with a flier at a gas station, informing her that his restaurant had just opened up. Anyway, I'm ordering my meal, the same meal I always get each time I go. Fried fish (whiting), collards and the baked beans (unmatched). And he goes, "What would you like to drink?".... I'm like, "What do you have?" (Assuming the usual. Sweet tea. Lemonade... I was probably gonna go with sweet tea. ) He lists sweet tea of course, and then hes like, "Kool-Aid, coke, sprite" - IM LIKE WAIT. DID YOU SAID KOOL-AID?......... He's like, "Yeah??..." Im like, "what flavor???.... "Purple?...." I had never heard of that at a restaurant, and quiet frankly, that's all I needed to know. At this point, I literally go nowhere else for soul food. Also, RC is amazing. Really good guy, and his team offer the best service as well. A job well done, always.

I had the 1/2 chicken with no sides. It was perfectly smoked, was tender and juicy and the seasoning was spot on. This was probably the best smoked chicken I have had in a very long time. Thankfully it wasn't too busy and they were happy to push a couple of tables together in the add-on dining room. The staff worked together as a team to bring out the food quickly and they regularly checked in with us to clear empty plates and ensure we had everything we needed. I ordered the sampler and thought the ribs were the best. I also really like the Mac-n-cheese side dish and almost wished I'd order a second serving. Their version of coleslaw favors the vinegar while I'm more in the creamy sweet camp, but it was still nice. Their BBQ sauce has a noticeable heat, and they offer a selection of sauces to suit other tastes. The sausage is a mild variety with a mealy texture, and garnished with sautéed onions and bell peppers. The chicken, pulled pork, and brisket I would have preferred in a wetter style (they were NOT dry, just toward the dry side of the wet/dry scale) and the brisket was nicely marbled with a good crust. Plates were served with a thick slice of bread, pats of butter, and crunchy dill pickles slices.
