Sherri & I had lunch at Henry's this past Sunday. We live OOT so we hadn't been there in years. It was outstanding! Every bit as good as we remembered. Sherri had a nice red blend. I had a sazerac. They make a really good one. We shared the 3B (butter, bourbon, and bacon) shrimp. Very nice, with lots of French bread to sop up the sauce. Sherri had the half portion Shrimp Ooh La La. She barely finished it even after sharing a couple of bites with me. Tasty! I had Gracie's Salmon, blackened. Big portion, cooked exactly to the temperature I requested. Generous helping of wild rice and Brussels sprouts. Delightful. No room for dessert, but the choices looked fun. Service was attentive but not obtrusive, just how we like it. We may have to come home from Atlanta by way of Acworth more often. read more

Food was great with exception of fried shrimp. They said they were jumbo but they were not they should have likely been classified as medium. Their fried batter is okay just not great. Their sauces are however outstanding The cornbread that they serve is absolutely amazing. Ambience is great. Portions are large. There is no need to get a full portion unless you can take it home or you are splitting meal with someone. read more

Out here in Acworth for a trip and was recommended this place by a local. The place is located in a quaint downtown setting and when you first walk in it's got that feel. Older but true to its nature it features old church pews for seating and the beads around customers necks, all smiling and enjoying their food. This place is a unique treat. I started with a Southern Mule, beware the Rye! This leaves you with a fragrant and flowery finish. The specials board was intriguing and I selected the Shrimp and scallops with peppers and linguini in a creamy vodka sauce. What a flavor punch. The creamy vodka sauce with a nice spicy kick was absolutely delicious. Portions are generous and favors are true to some good Louisiana Cajun style. Service was given with a smile and very attentive, drinks were monitored closely! Bread and cornbread is given to accompany the meal or just a simply to eat on it's own. I used mine to get more of that vodka sauce l! Cornbread kind of gummy consistency, seemed like it was made with grits rather than coarse ground corn meal. My wife and I have been coming here for years! We used to drive all the way from Cumming GA to eat here. So glad it's close by now! Henry's is an experience! Being landlocked as Atlanta is, it's hard to find really good seafood and being from the panhandle of Florida, and that close to Louisiana, I know when this type of food is legit. Our server, Sophie greeted us immediately. She was fantastic! We got there early enough so there was no wait. Trust me this place is always packed! Our drinks came out fast, and stayed full during our stay. She made some great recommendations for an appetizer and we landed on the Seafood Fondue. This cheesy goodness was Packed with flavor and the first thing my wife said was this is seasoned!! Had only a slight kick, but it was seasoned to perfection. At first it only came with three or four slices of bread and we were worried. Sophie immediately noticed we were out and brought over a basket of not only more French bread but what I would compare to pita chips and the most epic cornbread I've ever had. Pro move: scoop some of that fondue on top of the cornbread and eat it like cake OMG!!! Next we had a side salad with proper ranch dressing. (I will always call out IMPROPER Ranch dressing) It was delicious. Had I known how big the portions were on the entree (that my wife and I split) I would have skipped the salad but I needed my veggies. Sophie brought out this massive plate of fried seafood: catfish, shrimp, a TON of crawfish tails, oysters and hushpuppies. Seriously this was enough food for 4 people. We didn't put a dent in it! We polished it off with an EXCELLENT Vanilla Crème Brûlée. Perfectly smooth and creamy with a proper Brûlée on top. Very classic and delicious! Everything was DELICIOUS !! I love the vibe in this place. This experience screamed "Let the good times roll!" There are folks walking around tossing Mardi Gras beads around necks. (Don't worry I didn't have to flash anyone) and the decor was very New Orleans with large tables big enough for parties with seating that were former church pews. Families, couples, old, young, all are welcome. I love that. I want to mention one thing that really stuck with my wife especially; The staff here really seem to like working here. It's noticeable whether it's true or not. The entire staff HUSTLED! They were all incredibly friendly and good natured from the hostesses to the people clearing the tables. This is a well oiled machine, and a happy staff is a testament to great owners. (Just wanted the owners to know that....nice job) To the staff, you crushed it tonight and we can't wait to come back!! Saturdays are my Cheat Days, duly noted. Today, Friday, July 10, is my birthday and that means TWO CHEAT DAYS this week. Initially, I had this really good seafood restaurant in Marietta on my radar but I wanted to try something different. So, I Googled and Yelped, finding this place. Henry's Louisiana Grill. It's far, like crazy far from my home. It took a long while to get there. Like there was no McDonald's or Waffle House ANYWHERE!!  Not that I eat that stuff but you take my meaning. I got there, went to the hostess stand and was greeted warmly by two young ladies. They directed me to the bar, as I was taking it to go. Spain was playing Belgium at 3PM and I did not want to miss it  When I went over to the bar, I met this really cool Bartender Goddess named Julie. She could not have been more hospitable and cheerful. I placed my order with her and in about 15-20 minutes, my food was packed and ready to go. The time was not a problem; everything is made to order. What did I have? I ordered their hot chili gator for one and their Chef Henry's Seafood Platter. It was plenty and it was really good. As if I wasn't stuffed enough, I also had their bread pudding. There is something in the sauce, I was scraping the bowl and I never do that...LOL Moreover, the long drive was worth it.  Henry's Louisiana Grill definitely served a good birthday lunch/dinner. I enjoyed every bite and still have leftovers, even of that bowl-scraping bread pudding. Oh, Spain won, 2-1. Awesome! read more

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and had such a great time! Our server was so much fun and the atmosphere was lively. The place was packed but we had no problems getting a spot in the bar area. We were also welcomed by (what I assume is) the manager who brought us Mardi Gras beads. What fun! I think we ordered one of everything lol or it certainly seemed so. Since hubby wasn't with me, I ordered a good tasting of several dishes to immediately be packed in to-go containers and the served was right there with me. This worked seamlessly. Every dish came out and was immediately followed by a to-go container to be added to the bag. We started with a few appetizers. The Hot Chili Gator with remoulade and hoisin (just to try both) was great! It's rare to get good gator this far up in GA. They had a special of Flash fried crab claws served over French bread and Scampi butter, such a delight! We, of course, had to try the Pan Seared Sea Scallops that were served over fried spinach with crumbled feta and Sweet Soy Molasses... perfection. For our entrees we ordered the Crawfish Etouffee and the Cajuns Sampler with Red Beans & Rice which unless you're from Cajun country you don't know what you're missing, this is some of the best I've had in so long, the Louisiana Shrimp & Grits, and (probably my fav of the meal, though it's not an easy decision) the Shrimp Creole which was so rich and flavorful! Can't finish out a meal without a proper dessert so duh, the Bread Pudding had to be done! We had to! And it was rockin'! It's a big portion so save some room! You gonna want it! Or take it home and enjoy it with some vanilla ice cream, unnecessary but no regrets ;) perfect for the season too! It is fall after all! This isn't my first visit here, I've been a couple of times when passing through this side of town and every time it's been such a great experience! This is no exception. The ambiance is great! The staff seem to really enjoy working there, like they are having fun too! The food is incredible! It's no surprise it's been packed every time I've dined here. Always a great meal! read more

My husband and I stop here in the fall and spring going to and from Florida/ Columbus Ohio. My husband always gets Chicken Ooh La La and it's always fantastic! I tried the Bayou cake&grits ... fantastic! The bartender that has been there for 7 years (Ashley) has always given the best service and was training a new bartender (Riley) both are so friendly and quick! We love this place. Dominique was extraordinary! We went on Mother's Day and arrived about 7:00 PM. She had been serving all day from 10:00 AM. We would never have known her long day or how tired she was because she was bubbly, effervescent, and gave us extremely great service. We even spoke to her Manager about her exceptional service. we were on a return trip from Florida and happened to stop at that location for dinner. Was I. The area with my wife getting my windows tinted and wanted a good spot to dine. Looked all over YELP until we stumbled k. This gem . Arrived and was immediately seated. Our waitress was nice and explained the menu and chefs menu (as new patrons). We don't eat pork (anymore) so we missed out of a lot of NOLA staple foods like red beans n rice, jambalaya, boudin balls, and tons of other options that smelled delicious and based on other ppls orders and recommendations tasted awesome. My wife decided on the lobster rolls and I went with the fish n grits. Rolls came out first as an appetizer and tasted great. I was expecting hot lobster but it was more of a lobster salad on warm rolls. Soon after the cornbread came out. Their cornbread can be eaten alone but would pair better with a sauce to dip in. I opted to go with one fried and one blackened catfish (best of both worlds). The fried tasted better but over all I KILLED IT!!! Delicious to the last drop. My fiancee and I just moved to the area and a friend of mine recommended Henry's Louisiana Grill. We sat at the bar and our bartender, Ashley did a great job. In spite of the place being packed, she didn't miss a beat and was very attentive and personable towards us. The food was delicious too. Had to get my Henry's fix again and even though a read over the menu (there really is a ton of excellent choices) I usually gravitate to the Seafood Plate. Had the shrimp and catfish, full portion and it was delicious. I thought I could finish but fell 6 shrimp short and a bunch of French fries! We did have reservations for 6:15 so got our table right away. Our server was right there, ordered waters and I added an Abita Amber, which was delicious! We got our bread - always look forward to the cornbread. Food came out pretty quickly and the plates are never large enough! My wife got the shrimp po-boy, which is ALWAYS overloaded and the bread is sooo good! Already looking forward to our next visit to Henry's! read more

My wife and I have gone to Henry''s for birthdays, anniversaries, every year for about 6 yrs. We have never been disappointed and have enjoyed awesome food, service, and ambiance. (Henry is a pretty cool guy as well!) Today was my 60th birthday lunch and it was fantastic! Our server, Ria(sp) was quite helpful, prompt, polite, and offered advise on specials and such. Even sang Happy Birthday to me! My wife and I enjoyed the hot chili gator and house salad as our appetizer and we both had the Louisiana Ooh La La which included fried shrimp, oysters, and crawfish with spinach and a creamy white sauce over angel hair pasta. Absolutely delicious! To sum it up, I highly recommend Henry's and my wife and I will continue going as we celebrate our lives together! 5/3/2025 This was our first time at Henry's Cajun Restaurant, and while there were definitely some bright spots, the overall experience was a bit hit or miss. The highlights: the gumbo was excellent--thick, hearty, and full of flavor. It leaned more toward a stew than a traditional gumbo, but it worked and was easily the best thing we tried. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, and the service was excellent throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the food was inconsistent. The jambalaya lacked the bold Cajun flavor we were hoping for and was oddly served over plain white rice. The Cajun shrimp were overcooked and didn't have much seasoning. The catfish poboy came loaded with large slices of raw red onion, which didn't really belong and threw off the balance of the sandwich. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, but we probably wouldn't rush back. read more

Go for the food, go for the vibe, go for the entertainment, just go. I have been to Henry's twice and both times were amazing. The food is great and comes with so much flavor. I've been both before and after it was sold and I cannot tell the difference. Henry, the founder and previous owner use to come out and mingle with the guests and give everyone beads. The new ownership does the same thing but with a little more excitement. For food we had the hot chili gator for an app (taste like chicken...) and a big honkin bowl of jambalaya. Good grief the bowl of jambalaya was so good and filling. I needed a nap afterwards. Service was great but do plan on a wait if you walk up. I think they take reservations and I would highly recommend it. read more

I'd say it is the best restaurant in Acworth. I was stopping by a lot during the pandemic and picking up curbside. They did a great job with that. So tasty! I like their Cajun sampler appetizer. You get to choose three small portions of dishes that are all good. Great hush puppies. Their gumbo is nice. Shrimp Creole is good. My mom loves their Shrimp & Grits. So much fun to eat in the bar area, hang out and party like New Orleans. Fun customers, fun staff and sometimes Chef Henry walks around and says "hello." btw - Like New Orleans - Acworth lets you take drinks outside. To Go! Luv It!! Just don't walk by those signs that say that it's the end of the designated drinking area. read more

We wanted to grab lunch here for Fat Tuesday. I made reservations for 2:00 pm and we arrived at that time. The restaurant was buzzing with diners but we were seated upon arrival. Chef Henry greeted us at the door and slung some beads around my neck. He complimented my better half on her Mardi Gras themed top and leggings. We were seated at a high top in the bar area which allowed us to people watch during our meal. Our server Ella greeted us and took our drink orders. She was super nice and helpful. We asked her about the frog leg appetizer and she said that the servers taste all the specials each day but she was not a big fan of frog legs. We love them and ordered this dish as an appetizer. They were absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly. For lunch, we ordered the blackened shrimp, scallops and salmon served over couscous. It was awesome and an ample portion that we could have shared. The drinks were great and the restaurant was busy the entire time we were there for lunch. They even gave us a small slice of King Cake for dessert as Lagniappe (look it up if you don't recognize the phrase). All in this was another great dining experience presented by Chef Henry. This Cajun Grill is a must try in Acworth. read more

This is our go to place for Cajun food in the area. Enjoy the service. Love the atmosphere, it feels like you are in NOLA.

Chef Henry is doing something special in Acworth, GA. This restaurant has everything you would expect to find in Louisiana and if you're lucky you'll even catch Chef Henry tossing some beads around your neck along with some great conversation. He's quite the character and I'm sure has enough life stories to keep you coming back here over and over again. Everything about Henry's is exceptional. Atmosphere, Service, Food Quality, Taste and Authentic Flavors - all of it top notch. Even on a Tuesday night this place drew in a crowd and I suspect it's busy each and every night. Even if there's a wait, it's well worth it. The Jumbalaya and Chicken Ooh La La dishes were out of this world Delicious. Jumbalaya is perhaps some of the best I've had. The perfect mix of andouille sausage, seafood, creole-style rice and onions and peppers. The Chicken Ooh La La was so rich and satisfying. That is one dish I would order again and again and again. My only complaint is that this place is too far from my home town in Florida. I'd come back here just to come have dinner here again. Can't wait to do just that. read more

My wife and I stopped in for lunch on the Tuesday before Xmas. We had some seasonal cocktails, a fresh salad, and each ordered a sampler trio. The et tufay is amazing, the gumbo to die for, end the shrimp and grits had a nice creamy sauce that wasn't bad but not my favorite. I prefer red eye gravy. Went to this restaurant on a Thursday night, the waitress was friendly and the food and drinks came out very quickly. I started with the gator appetizer, which was tasty. For my entrée, I had the Oyster Oh La La, which was also good. For cocktails we had the Sazerac drink which wasn't great seemed a bit watered down. The overall vibe of the place was nice, with some of the New Orleans decor. Overall, I had a good experience. read more

Excellent food, drinks and service! Drinks are strong and if you're a light weight drinker, one drink will suffice. The food is excellent here, from the calamari, gumbo bread basket and hushpuppies, catfish and specialty dish. All the food is seasoned well. Will definitely be back. read more
