I love the food here. Best catfish I know of in this area. Service has been very bad since the move. I would go a lot more often if they would have onion to go with the fish. They load me up with tarter that I don't want but don't want to give any onion. I don't care if they charge extra for them but it is needed when serving catfish. read more

Good ole Southern Fried! Catfish, Shrimp, Chicken, and Country Steak with tasty sides like hush-puppies, fries, slaw and their signature white beans. Catfish are available whole or fillets. The two piece dinner is a copious plenty or a 3 piece dinner would be enough for the average couple to share. Perfectly breaded and fried fillets served with french fries, hush-puppies, slaw and deliciously seasoned white beans. Honestly , the best fried fish I have had in a very long time. It appears most of their business is phone ahead take out but there are a half dozen tables with a capacity of about 24. If you don't phone ahead expect about a 20 minute wait for a delicious cooked to order Friday supper. Order at the counter and everything is packed to go but feel free to sit down in the inviting but small dining area away from the service counter. The staff is way friendly and accommodating! Tea and soft drinks only, but the beer store is right next door. I find Ice House is a nice pairing.;) This is an ole fashioned weekend fish fry only open from 4 to 10 on Friday and Saturday night.. I have been wanting to try this place out for a while and finally dragged my wife in a few weeks ago. The food was delicious. Very fresh. Atmosphere was fun and the service staff was very friendly, BUT there isn't much space. I think he operates this place more as a "catering base of operation" and that's why he isn't open all the time, but I recommend going when they are open. What good is a great restaurant when it's only open 10 hrs a week. The hours posted on Yelp and the web said they close at 10. After driving around to find an ATM since they only except CASH, we get there at 9:20...they are closed with a 9 written on the 10pm. Thanks. read more

This place is amazing. I'm not a fan of catfish, but my husband is and said it's wonderful. But I can tell you that his fried shrimp is some of the best I've ever had. This is a go to spot for fried fish dinners for me and my hubs. We used to love BBQ street which was an almost constant Saturday meal. When BBQ street went downhill we had nowhere to go to get our traditional fried fish dinner. It seems we have tried all of them and found nothing good enough until JimPa. My dad told me about this place years ago when they were in a different location. The fish is well seasoned and fried perfectly crisp. The sides are good. I've heard so many Great compliments about JimPa's catfish! My friends said, "being from New Orleans we know you would appreciate Great Catfish." They were not lying at ALL!! You would think he was born and raised in the heart of New Orleans the way the seasonings come together, when you take a bite of JimPa's catfish right out of the hot grease serve with tarter sauce or ketchup. This awesome place is in the former Huddle House on the corner of Cobb Pkwy and McCollum Pkwy. When I get a craving for some fried deliciousness, this is the place I go to. I usually eat pretty healthy but I'm Southern and it's in my DNA to eat fried food. I consider myself to be a good cook but I suck at frying anything. This place takes care of that. I highly recommend the 2 piece catfish fillet dinner. It comes with 3 hush puppies which are each about the size of a golf ball and are perfect. Slightly sweet with just the right amount of onion and perfectly cooked to order. I get the fried okra and onions rings which are some of the best I've ever had. But the highlight of all this fried heaven is the catfish. The two pieces are huge and are cooked to order. The cornmeal breading is light and flavorful and the fillets are meaty, moist, and tender. All the food you get is cooked after you order it so be patient. Your food will be fresh and hot and worth the few minutes you waited. This isn't a cheap meal but the portions are huge and it's worth every penny. The folks are friendly and provide great service. When you need fried fish, this is the place to go. read more

OMG, this is the BEST catfish ever. It's quite a drive for us coming from Marietta, but well worth it. If it were closer, this would be our Friday night go-to meal. The owner, Jim is, as other reviewers have indicated, a really personable guy. My husband has chatted with a couple of times about the other establishments he's managed/owned. We've enjoyed them all. You just need to go now! Most places that serve fried food, it all somewhat tastes the same because cooked in the same oil...not this place!!!! The food comes out piping hot. The meal I ordered was nine dollars and came with two MASSIVE filet pieces, four hush puppies that were moist and delish on the inside and perfectly crispy outside. The best puppy I've ever put in my mouth actually. It was also served with northern white beans simmered with ham and onions!!!! Come on! Really? And the answer is yes!!!! Then they add fries and slaw. Yeah they took it there. Two people can easily share this meal but I promise you won't want to share. You will eat until you feel sick. Go try. I dare you not to like this place. I think it's literally impossible. The only reason for four stars is the sweet tea. Not sweet enough for me and the fries are steak fries, not my favorite but still good, crispy fries. Just not my favorite. My family eats here almost every Saturday. They are always packed, but if you order ahead, your food is ready in 20 minutes or so. Everything is made to order. They have some of the best catfish and hush puppies I've ever tasted. We always get the $20 box with 8 pieces of catfish. Seating is limited, so we always get it to go. read more

We've never gotten anything from here that we haven't loved. As I started to write this review, I realized I was using "perfect texture" to describe nearly everything. And I think that's what makes them so great. Everything is cooked perfectly. Never greasy, never underdone, never overdone. The catfish is so flavourful and it's cooked to the perfect texture. The chicken tenders are my husband's favourite because they are so moist and the breading is crunchy,flakey and delicious. For sides, you must get the hushpuppies because they are the best you will ever have. You can't go wrong with the white beans; so creamy. They don't always have dessert available - and when they do, it sells out fast - but if you're lucky enough to be there when they have banana pudding, order it! You will not be sorry. The food alone would be worth it but the friendly service just makes it that much better. Prices are fair and the portions are large. Open Friday and Saturday nights only and make sure you have cash because that's all they accept. read more
