Our food was delicious however the service was not that great. The only waiter that truly checked on us was the black waiter. I don't know if it was because we were black but he was not our original waiter. Our waitress came by only 3 times.

The staff were attentive and well versed on the menu. Josh was fantastic behind the bar and made me feel like I was part of the family. I love the vibe as it was inviting but still had some downtown Chicago ominous undertones. The food was amazing, French onion soup was rich and kept me wanting more after each bite. The chicken Marsala was cooked perfectly and the sauce was to die for, I could have poured that over anything. I opted for a healthier side option over mashed potatoes and went with the mashed cauliflower and it didn't disappoint. It was just as creamy as potatoes but the flavors popped more and I did use some of the Marsala sauce on top which put it way over. The charbroiled mashed cauliflower had a little crunch, sweetness and finished with an amazing flavor bomb. Highly recommend people trying this place, getting a Templeton cocktail at the bar and getting a taste of Chicago in Peoria!

We arrived with no reservations and were accommodated quickly on a Monday evening. The steaks, calamari and desserts were wonderful.

Stopped at Jim's while visiting for a concert at the civic center. This place was excellent! Ambience was that of an old timey supper club. We were able to get in without a reservation and sat in the bar area. The service was very attentive and the portions were great! We had the calamari as an appetizer and being from the chicago area, it was a ton of food. We ordered the prime rib and the filet mignon and both were cooked perfectly. The seasoning was excellent and tasted great. All the entrees came with bread, salad and a side of green beans. This place is a hidden gem and a must go if you find yourself in Peoria. Great food and great ambience!

It would be maddening to see price gouging if the food was not an ideal set of ingredients. Unlike an unfortunate city grill in downtown San Francisco last June, this chef has full skills and quality meats. Gumbo and clam chowder are rich and show off delicate proteins blended well into harty sauces. Tuna salad sandwich disappeared before the rest. Grouper, alas for its budget cuts because we needed more of that high class Caribbean cruise cuisine. But the nachos, they won the party, we started off with them and the next day continued to comment how annoyingly small they were. They desperately need an XXL size option for big table sharing! The cocktails seem also silly for the prices so I avoided them. Little in the tiki fashion to befriend the entrees and oddly not much house seasonal drinks either, was fine enough when I learned the Anchor Head brew blew my doors off! A fantastic lager, smooth, clean, easy to drink, that is how we like it. Staff was spot on to first ask about drinks while we waited for a table then escort us to one that opened up minutes later. Everyone was in tune throughout the night and we never felt waiting for service. Paying attention to the pennies, this is still a decent option alongside the excellent Kemp 208 in Morton and 2cheys in Peoria for indulging, relaxing, and meeting up to get those great land and sea meats.

Had 2 slices of bread instead of the usual single and was really perfect that should be the new usual. Steak sandwich was delicious. The fries came with some kind of mildly spicy dipping sauce that was just dynamite.

My husband ordered the Jambalaya Mac & Cheese 'without the crab'. The server never mentioned that the dish was pre-mixed or that omitting the crab wasn't possible. When our food arrived, she set down a Lobster Mac & Cheese instead. My husband hates lobster, so there would have been no reason for him to ask for "no crab" if that was what he wanted. When he pointed out the mistake, our server, Kris, initially argued with him instead of fixing her mistake. She eventually took it back, but it was another 20 minutes before his meal arrived. By then, I had already finished eating, so we weren't able to enjoy our meal together. I also had an issue with my Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich. Because of a medical condition, I can't eat the bun, so I cut the chicken up and eat it with a fork. That turned out to be nearly impossible because the restaurant only provides plastic forks and knives. While struggling to cut the chicken, my entire plate ended up in my lap. Kris didn't seem very familiar with the menu, and the overall service left a lot to be desired. Everyone has an off day, but for a first visit this wasn't a good impression and they weren't busy at the time. Between the incorrect order, the long wait to fix it, and the lack of proper utensils, we left disappointed and will probably choose somewhere else next time.
