I…read morewait 8 days before I call and ask the status and was told that the 'manager tried to reach out to me' I received no phone calls or email so the dude just forgot and never called back, additionally during the phone call they told me that it would be an extra 85 dollars for the coating of the polished aluminum lip. I wait 5 MORE DAYS before I call again(over 2 weeks at this point now). They tell me they'll call me back in 5 minutes so they can check the status(spoiler they don't) 20 minutes pass by and I decide to call again and they FINALLY say their finished and ready for pick up. I arrive and MY TIRES AREN'T EVEN MOUNTED TO MY RIM, I ask where my tires are because they're over 500 dollars for just a pair of them. They look confused and have to go ask before me having to wait another 30 minutes in the lobby for them to mount and balance them. I pick up my wheels and the product isn't even anything to brag about, it's straight and polished but you can clearly see where they welded and polished the bend, not to mention they ripped and tightened down the ever loving piss out of my valve stem seal and now it's torn and protruding instead of sitting flush, and when asked what happened was told 'it's a common thing to happen'. Paid 335 dollars for all of this. Yeah they have good ratings but I hope you have a better experience than I did because Jesus Christ I had a horrible time dealing with them

The next morning, The first shop we went to decided it was the water pump as the pulley for it had a slight wobble. The shop manager stated they hadn't replaced a water pump on our model van and his reference books stated that the engine needed to be pulled to replace the pump. They were too busy to take that big of a job on short notice and said that they could do in in a week. We didn't want to wait as we needed to leave Canon City to get back to Seattle. The shop manager provided us with the names and number of a couple of other shops in town and the dealer info in a town 30 miles away. We made the trip to Austin Auto and they confirmed the water pump needed to be replaced but they were booked a couple weeks out. Kevin the shop manager did state that he felt the water pump could be replaced without pulling the engine. We went out to our van to figure out another option. We were in the process of calling the dealer to check with them when Kevin walked out to talk to us. He said he talked to his shop foreman about the water pump replacement and the fact that we were in a bind and were supposed to leave the next day. The shop foreman had experience replacing water pumps on this type of engine and apparently took pity on our situation and said he'd be willing to do the work himself so we could be on our way on schedule. Kevin said they'd be able to have the work done late today or the next depending on how it went! Late the same afternoon Kevin called and said the work was done and we could come and pick up the van. We were ecstatic and so happy that Austin Auto was so helpful and efficient The 3 people we interacted with at Austin Automotive were super nice, patient and helpful in every way. I'm ranking this as the best experience I've ever had with any auto shop. Period.

I found out all this and sent them a check the day after I got the tires. They still charged me all the fees even though they had received the check 2 weeks before they sent the bill. I fought with them on all the fees. They charged me a late fee for not paying the fees and I hadn't received a bill for them. After several calls and telling them their fees were wrong since the tires were paid off before they even billed me they finally took off the fees.
