When I complained about the $173.00 charge for 2 minutes work. I was read the riot act about their expertise in pushing a horn. They do good work but the next time I will shop around and you should too! They will skin you alive! I paid $173.00 for them to push my horn. How dumb am I? A HUGE thumbs up for Austin Auto…read more My wife and I were in Canon City for a weeklong event. On Wednesday of that week We noticed a minor noise coming from the engine. The next morning, The first shop we went to decided it was the water pump as the pulley for it had a slight wobble. The shop manager stated they hadn't replaced a water pump on our model van and his reference books stated that the engine needed to be pulled to replace the pump. They were too busy to take that big of a job on short notice and said that they could do in in a week. We didn't want to wait as we needed to leave Canon City to get back to Seattle. The shop manager provided us with the names and number of a couple of other shops in town and the dealer info in a town 30 miles away. We made the trip to Austin Auto and they confirmed the water pump needed to be replaced but they were booked a couple weeks out. Kevin the shop manager did state that he felt the water pump could be replaced without pulling the engine. We went out to our van to figure out another option. We were in the process of calling the dealer to check with them when Kevin walked out to talk to us. He said he talked to his shop foreman about the water pump replacement and the fact that we were in a bind and were supposed to leave the next day. The shop foreman had experience replacing water pumps on this type of engine and apparently took pity on our situation and said he'd be willing to do the work himself so we could be on our way on schedule. Kevin said they'd be able to have the work done late today or the next depending on how it went! Late the same afternoon Kevin called and said the work was done and we could come and pick up the van. We were ecstatic and so happy that Austin Auto was so helpful and efficient The 3 people we interacted with at Austin Automotive were super nice, patient and helpful in every way. I'm ranking this as the best experience I've ever had with any auto shop. Period.

The minute you pull up, someone is out, offering to drive the car around, and showing you inside. The mechanics are all very helpful and friendly, and will double-check everything and offer do extra without being asked. They actually offered to put my new plates on my car when try saw then sitting on the passenger's side seat, which I hadn't had the time to do after I registered my car. They also saw me to the car, and made sure I was off safely, after they finished. Also, for new customers, they offer a freebie gift with your payment. I ended up getting a spot treatment stain remover, which has actually come in handy, between two dogs and a baby in the car. The price for the oil change and air filter was average. Not on the cheapest side, but definitely not overcharged. The entire time I was here, though, I felt welcome and taken care of. Exactly how customer service should feel.
