new to the area, I went in search of a decent Chinese food place. Sadly I did not find it at JinJin. there was nothing on the website that would prepare anyone for the horrible conditions there. It is take out only, they store their boxes of paper goods in the center that used to be a buffet, the person who took our order was rude but, worst of all, the food was horrible. The chicken lo mein tasted like it was cooked with a utensil used to cook fish and both of us had the runs the next day. It would be best for owners to recognize when to close up shop and hand a prime Easton location to another restaurant that actually wants to be in business. read more

First time I went there I got the Singapore mei fun which was decent so I decided to try them again tonight. I ordered a regular general's tso chicken which tasted very bland and such a small portion for 12 bucks. I'm glad they offer plenty of sauce packets, you'll need it if you order it. General tso's chicken: 6.4 out of 10 Chicken fried rice was just yellow rice with sauteed onions and chicken, nothing remotely looked like it was fried. I'll give it a 4.1. The egg roll was decent even though it wasn't crispy. With a little help of the spicy mustard and made it a 7.1 which is generous It's in downtown Easton so parking can be limited. They do have some tables inside on one side of the buffet which looks like it's being used for storage and on the other side of the buffet is storage for bicycles. read more

My husband was born and raised in Easton and raved about how good Jin Jin's was growing up, especially the egg rolls. So when we took a trip out there I couldn't wait to try it. Baybee...I was truly disappointed. For one, the portions were small. I ordered shrimp and broccoli, which not only was small, but had like 3 small shrimp in it. My husband got lo mein, which also had 3 sad shrimp. He said it was the worst he's ever had. My child had their version of fried rice -- which is just yellow rice with two small pieces of scallion and some onion. Oh, and 3 salad shrimp -- yes salad shrimp. No soy sauce, seasoning, veggies, nothing. (See pic). Not a single thing fried about it. The eggs rolls tasted like they were previously frozen. I had to comfort my spouse as he poured one out for the good times, because sadly, this place has lost its luster. Clearly the original owners sold it to some lazy folks who didn't care about its legacy. Really sad all around. Two stars because the wings were the only palatable item. So long, Jin Jin's. I was staying at the Tidewater Inn with some friends this past weekend and we wanted to get something simple and relatively light when we arrived Friday evening. After meandering around the historic district we came across Jin Jin and set our expectations for neighborhood Chinese food. They were busy taking phone orders and there was a relatively steady flow of people coming in so we ordered the basics: shrimp egg rolls, shrimp egg foo young, shrimp lo mein, and spicy beef curry (foolishly expecting something similar to Han Dynasty). Someone impatiently took my order and gave me the total $48; I paid, went for a walk and returned 15 minutes later for the food. The woman was a bit rude when I asked about utensils and sauces...they are available at the end of the counter. I asked her if they had any paper plates and she said no. I attributed her aggressive demeanor to being busy because I refuse to accept a language excuse if you're running a customer facing business. As we were leaving, I noticed some small clamshell containers and asked the guy if I could have one of those. She must've overheard because she dashed out of the kitchen and said "one dollar", I pulled out the dollar and said fine but I just gave you almost fifty. The guy smiled, gave me the container, and refused the dollar. She went ballistic. You can't go wrong with egg foo young, but this gravy had a weird sweet tang. The lo mein seemed to have been doused in oyster sauce. And the curry had the hint of a good flavor but it was in a cornstarch sauce with lots of peppers and onions (and no spice) and I just couldn't handle the weird texture of the meat. This place is a dud - the interior needs an update, the people are rude, and the food is lackluster (even for neighborhood Chinese food), but I assume it's the only game in town. read more

I called in an order for pepper & onion steak combo meal & a sweet & sour combo meal. It had gone from 6.95 to 9.95, to meat in both combos was so tough with gristle I couldn't even chew it! The rice was not fully cooked & just the taste was nothing I have experienced before from Jin Jin's. Plus charging me a 3.00 delivery fee on top of me having to tip the driver it cost me 26.00! This restaurant came up in a list search for Chinese food, so I drove to Easton and thankfully there was one empty parking space across the street I did not realize that this was in downtown Easton which has very limited parking spaces. Needless to say I ordered pork fried rice wonton soup and two egg rolls I'm just going to summon it up from here on the food tasted sub par the pork fried rice was so so the wonton soup had to be the saddest wonton soup I have ever had the broth itself tasted like it was just yellow water. BEWARE ANY ASIAN CUISINE RESTAURANT THAT HANDS YOU YOUR FOOD IN A STAPLED-CLOSED BAG! I phoned-in an order of Kung-Pao chicken and a side of fried rice ($11). When I went in to pick it up they told me they don't accept American Express (what restaurant doesn't take Amex?). No biggie...I paid cash. 15-minutes since I had called-in the order, I waited another 10-minutes for my order before it was presented (I expected this as Kung Pao chicken takes a bit longer to make as the meat and vegetables are marinated in Kung Pao sauce...it's not just stir-fried.) When handed me the food order it was in a stapled-closed bag (red flag!). Before I accepted the food I opened and inspected the order. I'm not sure WHAT they were giving me but it wasn't Kung Pao chicken (which I get regularly at other Asian restaurants). It was a tray of essentially diced green peppers with diced baby-corns (although they were the biggest baby-corns I've ever seen in a dish, in-kind they were diced-up also) with a ridiculous amount of chopped celery covered in raw peanuts, all resting in a translucent, slimy sauce. No zucchini, no red bell pepper, no scallions, ...not even a single red chili pepper visible! Confused and assuming I got someone else's order, I brought this to the attention of the clerk, who assured me that it was Kung Pao chicken and she explained that they don't put much red chili peppers in it as "their customers don't like it spicy." I asked them to make it traditionally/correctly and she took the tray back into the kitchen and returned 2-minutes later with two chili peppers placed on top (WTH?). Again, I asked her to remake it properly and she insisted it was they way 'they' make it. She added there was more chili pepper on the bottom of the order and invited me to stir it, so I did with a fork and observed zero additional chili peppers (and hardly any chicken for that matter) to which she insisted there was "tiny bits" of chili pepper in there. I sampled a taste of the 'stuff' and it was completely blandish tasting, not the sweet-spicy that Kung Pao gravy tastes like...it basically just a (very) few slivers of (some kind of slimy) 'chicken', green pepper, mini-corn (which is NEVER in Kung Pao chicken), a ton of diced celery, and covered in a layer of raw peanuts...missing half the vegetable ingredients of traditional Kung Pao chicken. There was no red sweet-spicy sauce to this concoction at all, but rather some slimy translucent, greasy gravy. Literally the worst and loosest interpretation of a traditional Asian-American dish! I'd venture a guess that this 'stuff' was stir-fry vegetables and chicken with some chili powder sprinkled-in and peanuts added. At this point the clerk started telling me I don't know what Kung Pao chicken is (though for the last 25-years I've been ordering it elsewhere and it's consistently the same appearing and tasting recipe.) I also inspected the side of rice which was suspiciously yellow (not fried) rice...I've no idea what this is (how does a 'Chinese' restaurant not know what fried rice is?) Since she refused to make it again, I politely asked for a refund, at which time the clerk became visibly angry and began to verbally berate me and said "never come back"....like she had to ask? (I assure you I won't.) Not only was there hardly any chicken in this stuff, it wasn't even Kung Pao sauce! I'd venture a guess that there was literally less than a dollar in total food cost in this tray of slimy 'stuff': disappointing and DISGUSTING! My greatest regret is that I didn't have the awareness at that moment to take a photo of the tray of stuff they were passing-off as Kung Pao chicken...the photo would have been worth a thousand words. But, I've added a photo of what Kung Pao chicken is supposed to look like...maybe it'll be a starting point for their cook(s)? I have little tolerance for retailers that want me to have what they want me to have, not what I want to have. If you enjoy good Chinese/Asian food, this is NOT the place for you! I'm left with the impression that they prey upon ignorant shore folks not knowing any better nor inspecting their food before they walk-out. read more

I love Jin Jins. It has been my go to place for Chinese food for over a decade! Walking in, it looks horribly sketchy. Don't let that discourage you! I always end up ordering a ton of food that I eat over the course of 2 days. The fried wontons have a crab and cheese filling that is just to die for. The boneless spare ribs are also a great treat. I love the shrimp egg rolls, and all of their fried rices or lo meins are great. The sweet and sour chicken, general tso's and orange chicken are also family favorites that won't steer you wrong. I've never found a little hole in the wall that gives you great prices for such great Chinese food. My standard when judging all other places! read more

I'd have to say that Jin Jin (or as I always have called it and everyone else seemed to Jinjins) it probably the best chinese food I've ever had. Don't be intimidated by its appearance. I know it's surrounded by the more higher class restuarants, but the food is amazing. I'd have to say my favorite item there is the General Tso. I haven't had anything ever as good. The prices aren't bad either for the amount of food you get. So if you're in the Easton area looking for good chinese food, make sure to give Jin Jin a try. read more

Horrible. I stopped in to order carry out last evening. I ordered an egg roll, fried dumplings, egg drop soup, combination fried rice and orange flavor beef. It was $25. for what I ordered. As I waited I noticed how run down this place is with wallpaper ripping and sparce chairs and tables (I guess no one dines in here) The lady brought the order to me all packed up and bagged, so off I went. When I got home I was surprised to discover that the orange beef was soggy and under cooked - virtually inedible. The soup, dumplings and egg roll were just ok. The combination fried rice was missing. So for $25. I ended up with about $9. worth of food. The orange beef went in the trash. NEVER again. read more

I agree with that, Chicken wings are so good. But i have to say that shrimp broccoli are amazing omg I love it sooooo much. If you come to Jinjin don't forget grab one shrimp broccoli. If you don't believe, just get one and you will know how amazing it is. read more

I was disappointed by Jin Jin the two times I tried it out. It is typical greasy Chinese fast food. It doesn't bother me when a Chinese food is a typical takeout place and not authentic, but I just didn't think Jin Jin's was good even by that standard. The rice and lo mein noodles were okay but nothing special. The General Tso's chicken really threw me for a loop, I've never seen it like that. They were small little round balls of chicken in sauce that was too sweet and oily. I am used to larger chunks of battered chicken, these were more like tiny meatballs. The veggies in the various plates we ordered weren't fresh. The staff was friendly and the portion sizes were good, but the food just wasn't up to par. read more

The food is not bad. The delivery service is absolutely terrible! I have lived in a development that was built in 2007-08. They have gotten lost twice now trying to find the house. But no phone call they just don't show up. Then when you call to find out where your food is (an hour later) they explain that the driver is lost. Lost with your food that was cooked awhile ago and getting cold. The last time they showed up an hour late and didn't even have all of the food. They didn't include one whole dinner. Jin Jin gets a hard time from the locals because it was one of the first Chinese restaurants here, so the usual rounds of the old-timers tasteless jokes. I have eaten plenty of take out Chinese food all over the states, and Jin Jin is right up with them all and better then most. The chicken egg foo young that I got had a really good texture and taste, the orange chicken - good flavor with nicely cooked pieces of broccoli - not over cooked. Even the beef lo mein noodles ( normally lo mein is half-ass done in take out joints ) was tasty, hot and just right. It is take-out, and Chinese-American, not "authentic" Chinese but it is well done. They do have a lot of different appetizers as well that are good too. read more
