We've been coming to Jongro since they opened, and we've enjoyed it every time. We've been with a…read morelarger group of friends and have also stopped in for a more casual meal for two, and it works well for both. The restaurant itself has a lot of personality. The dining room has a cool industrial and retro Korean feel, with concrete and brick, vintage phone displays, K-pop touches, wood accents, and large screens throughout the space. It gives the place a fun, distinctive atmosphere without feeling overly gimmicky. The staff has always been friendly and personable, which is another reason we enjoy coming back. We usually get the pork belly, and it always hits the spot. The banchan is also a highlight for us--we somehow manage to eat every bit of kimchi they bring to the table. On our most recent visit, we had the pork belly along with the kimchi stew, which made for a really satisfying meal. After several visits, Jongro has become one of those places we know we can return to and have a good experience. Good food, a great-looking space, and genuinely personable service.

Wow was the brisket and steak SO tender! And the Inju steak was very well marinated. And the pork jowl was so deliciously crunchy. So we got some more steak and pork jowl! And then we got the egg soufflé and seafood pancake. Wow the egg was so fluffy and flavorful. And the seafood pancake had some legit seafood flavors in an extra large pancake. We had to take it home because we just could not finish any more. But overall this place is a must. Service was top notch as he explained everything and even helped cook for us. And the interior decor is so cool with all of the retro Korea vibes. Definitely recommend!

Anju was really good! We met a man who lives in the neighborhood and frequents the restaurant…read moreoften, and he gave us some great recommendations on what to order. The host was super friendly and seated us right away. Our server, Wendy, was patient, attentive, and welcoming throughout the meal. For drinks, we ordered the Sparkling Rosé, Blck Pnk, and a beer. The Sparkling Rosé was phenomenal. The Blck Pnk was on the bitter side, which may be perfect if that's your preference, and I appreciated how thoughtfully crafted it was. The beer was ice cold and crisp. To start, we ordered the mandu and two orders of the chikin. For our mains, we had the pork rib & kimchi fried rice and the dolsot bibimbap. Everything was delicious. My only critique is that some of the dishes could have benefited from just a touch more salt to really make the flavors pop. The restaurant itself is small, quaint, and feels very homey. I loved the family-style setup and how easy it was to share dishes and move things around the table so everyone could try a little of everything. Overall, I would definitely recommend Anju to others and would happily return with a group of friends. It was a great dining experience with excellent food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

It was packed but we got one of the last tables available and were seated right away, others that came later had to wait. Service was great--staff were friendly and attentive. My favorite dish here is the Fried Chicken Wings with Garlic Sauce (Bone-in)--lollipop style wings, the flavor is unique and delicious, and the portion is huge! The Noodle with Pork & Black Bean Sauce and Noodle with Veg & Beef Spicy Seafood Soup are my top favorites noodle dishes here. We also got the Fried Dumplings, which were just okay. For drinks, they have a variety of Soju, another drink favorite of mine lol. Highly recommend this place!

Pros- Clean establishment…read more Cons- High priced Food is ala carte Service could be more attentive We came to check this place out as my daughter likes it. In the door the place was clean and well lit. Our server was attentive to us in the very beginning b I t did decline. Menu choices to me were a little odd to include everything is ala carte, you dont even get rice with a meal. We were a party of 8 so we all ordered something different. For me the food lacked flavor and the fried beef was like eatting beef Jerry. We had some children with us who dont eat with chop sticks and getting regular utensils seemed difficult. Our server filled our waters in the beginning but that was it, after that finding her for anything was not happening. Finally, they attached a automatic gratuity which i have an issue with, I am a great tipper but if service sucks then it should be my decision on how much to tip.

This one feels most authentic…read more.. Before I say anything else yes, parking is limited. Why? Because it's in an area dominated by industrial businesses. Not a retail space. Boo-hoo, look around and you'll find a spot unless you're driving a yacht. Now, to the setting and the food...the setting is the way I like it. Rustic, clean, unassuming, not fancied up. Wooden privacy screens are set in between tables. (Perhaps because of Covid? Not sure.) This to me was really comfortable, didn't feel like I was stuck in a cattle car. I'm sure there's Korean BBQ here but we weren't at such a table. In fact it looked like grills had been removed from some tables and replaced with wooden covers. So nice to have that extra space because... Ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, steamed dumplings, etc. The extra side dishes I enjoy (kimchi, sprouts, etc.) were there as well. Ice tea, yadda yadda. Korean music was playing but it wasn't loud, on another screen by the kitchen I could see Family Guy. Again, not loud or intrusive. Didn't feel like they skimped on portions, there was plenty. Almost too much, wasn't sure I'd manage to finish the bulgogi but I did...mmm. Overall, this place is a nice break from other places. If you want to take someone out and just enjoy yourselves, this would be it. Perhaps a bit different when full, but still. Btw, it's been 13 years since I first went here. This week was only the second time. I totally forgot where it was or whether it was still around. So glad it is.
