There is just something about the pit operations outside and the tables under the canopy out front that reminded me of some of the barbecue places i visited in Austin. If sitting outdoors isn't your thing then they have a nice little dining space inside too. I was craving ribs but on a late Sunday evening they were out so I ordered the brisket tacos and they didn't disappoint. The tacos were like small street tacos but totally loaded with brisket. And because the laser potatoes are among the best spuds I've ever eaten, we shared an order of those too. Employees were friendly and the chill atmosphere was nice for a Saturday night. The dining room has a cool industrial and retro Korean feel, with concrete and brick, vintage phone displays, K-pop touches, wood accents, and large screens throughout the space. It gives the place a fun, distinctive atmosphere without feeling overly gimmicky. The staff has always been friendly and personable, which is another reason we enjoy coming back. We usually get the pork belly, and it always hits the spot. The banchan is also a highlight for us--we somehow manage to eat every bit of kimchi they bring to the table. On our most recent visit, we had the pork belly along with the kimchi stew, which made for a really satisfying meal. You can debate the principle of having your age verified on any number of points, but when someone is clearly multiples older than 21, the principle falls away and the insult to intelligence begins to set in. I emailed the Gmail account associated with their contact form over a week ago and never got a response, which at this point, is my primary complaint and a point for people to take note of should they run across a situation where they try to reach out to leadership. Much like most places, it's luck of the draw and we got a really lousy draw last time, but honestly the service is somewhat lackluster. They have these tablet devices they want you to use, but you have to first have them be enabled by your server and then it's hit or miss as to when they will return to check in (presumably because we can order some things on the tablet, but not incidentals like a fork or a spoon, etc.) YMMV.
