Came here on a Sunday afternoon with my family (4 of us). It wasn't busy. We sat at the sushi bar. Ordered edamame and calamari for appetizers while we decided on sushi. Rolls were great, fish was fresh. Except the lobster roll smelled pretty fishy and unappetizing. They just have forgotten about the appetizers. I asked for them twice and they brought the edamame out. But asked them to cancel the calamari since I asked for the check and we were done eating. The Server and owner still brought it out and made my Mom feel obligated to eat it and pay for it. It was awkward. Lastly, there was a raw sewage smell wafting through the restaurant a few times. And the bathrooms were disgusting. Don't think we will be back. It wasn't a great experience. read more

Our new fav local sushi spot. It tastes so fresh and the fish is consistently good! We now come almost weekly to enjoy our favorite sashimi + rolls. We love the Geisha roll, we keep trying new ones every time but so far the Geisha roll is a consistent favorite. I love Jin sushi so much, the food is always good no matter if it's packed or not. The workers are always nice and welcoming, I've never had an experience with one of the workers being mean or rude. The music is always fun, the TV are massive (Low taper fade Iykyk), you could always asked to change the channel as well. I'd give this place a 10/10, for the amazing service, the scrumptious food (I like getting the Bento Combo with the salmon teriyaki and California rolls), and the awesome atmosphere. read more

I feel the love here. It's that feeling when you know the people working there care for you and want to make sure that you're doing okay. I've been here twice and both times the service was amazing. The first time we sat at the bar and the sushi chef took our order and worked on it ASAP. The second time we sat down and the lady in charge was very friendly and helpful. Both times we ordered the baked green mussels it was amazing. We ordered several rolls between our two visits but our favorite has to be the red dragon roll. The fish tasted delicious and fresh. You can definitely taste the quality in the ingredients and food. Hands down the best sushi place I've had in a while. I'm definitely coming back and determined to be a regular here. read more

They are open and have outdoor seating only. I was a bit unsure when I first got there since it was fairly new but ended up being a great dinner overall. This place has really good quality sushi and everything we ordered was very good. The shrimp shumai and garlic edamame were good starters. We each ordered the udon soup and one with tempura which was a typical udon soup and still very good. We tried the monster roll which had spicy tuna and also a spicy yellowtail cut roll. The rolls are not that small like some places. But if you're in the area or live nearby then definitely give this place a try. There's plenty of parking and it's located in a strip mall type area. Mixed emotions about this place, let's start with the good, I loved their udon noodle soup and uni, the spicy hand roll tuna was alright nothing special but where it got icky was "the fresh oysters" I saw this little animals crawling and jumping on my oysters, I posted it on my social media asking what it was and someone told me it was an amphipod they come from the family of shrimps and crustaceans, so I guess their oysters must be fresh? Lol I never seen this things nor want them in my oysters so I ended up return them but their udon soup was bomb. Oh their costumer service was good! read more

Clean place, small, busy. The sushi was fresh but there wasn't much of it. That is the fish pieces we're a bit on the thin side. The rolls were really small too. I had the Philly roll, a California roll & the crunch roll. Also had the salted edamame. It was just ok for me. I've had tastier sushi. And the bill was $44 with tax and tip. We were served pretty quickly despite them being busy and there was plenty of parking. None of this was enough for a return visit though. read more

I live nearby and am usually a takeout person with them, and I have never been disappointed. Very consistent and an employee even suggested that I call rather than order online because it's cheaper and BOY LET ME TELL YOU lol she was not lying and I appreciate her. Giving two stars because my past experiences were positive. My family and I moved into the neighborhood over the summer and this has been our go-to sushi spot for takeout since then. However, I've been extremely disappointed with our past two take out experiences. The second to last time, I had to wait for 20 min despite my order being ready. When I got home, I realized they had forgotten some of my order. This was frustrating but not a huge deal because I could see they were overwhelmed with low staff. They were apologetic when I called and I went back in to pick up the missing items. On Friday though, I was extremely dismayed with the customer service. After getting home, in the middle of dinner, I realized the two orders of salmon sashimi was bad fish. I thought it smelled slightly funky and the second I took a bite, I had to spit it out. I called because I did not want to be charged for two orders of salmon sashimi that was bad. The server put me on the phone with the chef who told me he checks all the fish before it goes out and that mine couldn't possibly be bad. (We had multiple other rolls, including ones with salmon, that were all fine). He offered to remake it but I told him I just wanted it refunded to my card. He abruptly put me on hold and then I was disconnected. I called back, the server went on to tell me that the chef has over 20 years of experience and the sashimi couldn't be bad. Again, I told her I wanted a refund and she hung up. I explained to both the chef and the server that we order from them often, that I had other rolls with fish that was fine, and it was obvious that the sashimi was rancid. I called back a third time to get clarification on how I would be refunded and was told I had to go back in to be issued a refund. Extremely disappointed in the customer service and couldn't believe I was hung up on three times and told that my sashimi couldn't be bad even though we pretty much order the same items every time. read more

Korean Bulgogi and Shrimp w/vegetables tempura it came with white rice, miso soup, 2 gyoza , house salad. Well I did not receive Korean Bulgogi what I got was a beef salad so I was sold two salads 1/3 cup rice not even a normal cup size the. This is the house salad potrtion literally fit in .h one hand with the exception of 2 2 small lettuce pieces that fell of while attempting to take photo. The best thing from this disaster special luncheon with my daughter was the vegetables and shrimp tempura. Know look at this broth with no flavor what they call miso soup version lmao. I provided photos with captions so this was $24.14 I do not know how they have the rating they do. Go to San Sai or Joe's sushi in Bellflower they are worth price. read more

They are in a bad mood they don't even bother to ask if we need napkins we called them for refills and they get bothered and on top of that they charged me tip included in the bill we were 5 total keep in minds I have 3 kids 2 little ones but because they take a space in the table they are counting her . So that makes 5 to them she added 20% on my bill for doing nothing absolutely nothing but bring the food to my table . This is just ridiculous . First time visit but definitely won't be my last. Dont let the bland, slightly run-down, shopping center this restaurant is located at fool you. This place is good. First impressions walking in, I appreciated the themed decor, greeting in Japanese, and a conscientious chef. You will notice the sushi chef is in sight of everyone, which is a must in my book, not hidden away in a back kitchen or some dark corner. Staff was very nice and chef even gave me an update on my order as he prepared it. Maybe it was the shock factor of the quality at such an unsuspecting location or that I was starving for some sushi but i vote this place a must try. Overall: Fairly priced, decent sized servings, responsive staff and delicious food! I will update this review soon as I try more of the menu and visit during different times. This is my new sushi spot since I moved to Downey! Have not dined it but have ordered take out a few times. Sushi is great, edamame is my favorite!! My go to order is the Mexican roll + garlic edameme. Only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because I ALWAYS ask for EXTRA spicy mayo everytime I call in for take out, they always assure me they will include the extra spicy mayo and they NEVER go through with it. Last night I ordered a total of 3 rolls and side of garlic edamame and got ONE spicy mayo... ONE for 3 rolls.
