So I called him after emailing him some pictures. He said he was sure he could match what we had. So he came out to double check, to see what we wanted and to give us a price quote. He's pretty much out the same day you talk to him, or maybe in one day. To me, that by itself is remarkable as most installers need to schedule a time days in advance. Then, at the time he comes out he gives you the price. Granted, it may be written on the back of his business card. But it's immediate. Again, with other installers we talked with they had to go back to their shop to give us a price quote, usually a few days after they came out. We changed out mind about what we wanted a bunch of times. David was able to give us a price change immediately when we told him what we wanted. Of course, my wife wanted to get other estimates. I told her to go ahead with that. That took months because aside from people taking a week or two to come out and give us an estimate, a lot of them either disappeared before giving us an estimate or after giving us an estimate, or changing their mind about doing the work. So when we finally settled on D&O out he came again, took measurements, a deposit, and returned promptly within less than his estimated turn around time to put in what he'd built. A great match. Looks like they were always there. I'll add that if you don't know exactly what you want David will tell you what you'll like. And even if you know what you want he may still tell you. Regardless, he's professional, a pleasure to work with, and provides excellent, consistent, quality workmanship - much more a craftsman than an installer.

The cabinets are OK but the installation was sloppy…read more Upon further review I found the 4 problems with the installation. 1, They reused an existing molding. That was OK but one side of the molding is installed crooked ( the 45 degree angle is lower than the matching side). 2. One molding is a quarter of an inch short and is leaving a gap between the moldings. (No effort to fill it) 3. The molding was nailed in place but the nails are showing. *Should have been set and filled). 4. While drilling an access hole in the cabinet no effort was made to drill a clean hole and it splintered as it went out the other side. Very disappointing to spend that much money and have a sloppy installation.

The master installer came over, took a look at the space and the existing cabinet doors and instead suggested a custom color matched shaker drawer with soft close to match the rest of the kitchen. I was nervous about the color match since our cabinet colors are very unique but the team ensured that they would keep color matching until it was a perfect match. It looks fabulous in person and the job from cabinet measurement to install was completed in less than a week and for a price that was competitive with other cabinet installers. It started off fine. I asked them to hang a door, and they asked for pictures of the old door. I…read moresent those, they quoted and scheduled the job. Great! But when they showed up on the installation day, they announced that they had quoted it wrong because the door was a different size than they had imagined. They had to select a whole new date, and they raised the price by about 50% (for a door 1 foot taller than it was in their imagination). They also mentioned, for the first time, that my initial price had been "discounted" because they had included staining, which I had declined on my signed work order - where it was shown as a separate line item with its own price. No sign of a discount anywhere. Anyway, after some haggling we agreed on a new price and a new date. The guy who hung the door was actually great, but then the stain guy did not show up. I was told he had an emergency and would come early the next morning. We agreed on 8:30 AM. No sign of him at all until just before 10 AM. The first full sentence he spoke to me was a suggestion that maybe we should wait until the *following* morning to do it (Sunday). I said I didn't want to devote a third day to this, and that we should just forge ahead and get it done. I had an any case already canceled everything else I had planned for Saturday just to make sure I would be available for these guys. He then announced that he had to go get supplies, even though the team had now seen the door at least twice previously. I asked how long that would take, and learned that it should be about a 45 minute trip. 2 1/2 hours later and no sign of the guy. It seemed clear when he arrived that he didn't want the job, and as I write this my expectation is that he is not coming back at all. At this point, I don't think I want him to. It would be hard to trust the quality of his work. To make matters worse, there appears to be no way of communicating with the company so that we can be sure we are all on the same page. The office line does not pick up, and emails have gone unanswered. All this despite agreeing to a far higher price than initially quoted, giving them the stain work that they insisted they wanted in order to give even that price, and then devoting several hours on each of two consecutive days to allowing them to do said stain work only to have them do no such work at all. Based on other reviews, I realize this is not typical. But the fact that they appear to have no good way of managing the situation when there's a problem with one of their workers does not reflect well on the company as a whole. UPDATE: The guy who hung the door (whose work had been great) took over the job and handled the stain. He was able to get back out fairly soon, and though the overall time commitment to this job on my part was unacceptable it seems to have been largely due to this one fellow, the original stainer. I imagine they will take steps to prevent it from happening again. And the oversight in quoting the job properly, while hard to understand, was probably just that - an oversight. Raising from 2 stars to 4, though I can't see my way to 5 given all of the above.
