I know my noodles, and my bowl of noodles at this place was not fully cooked. The texture is soggy. I ate the meat and greens and not much of the noodles. Maybe my bowl was an accident?! This place had a line so I thought was worth the try... The lamb skewer-fat, chewy, and the flavor is just on the surface of the meat. I ate what I can and spit out the tough part. I think if the meat was cut into smaller pieces and grill a little longer would be more enjoyable. The chef has room to improve... this place did not meet my expectation.

My wonderful mom picked me up a noodle soup to-go from here. It's a solid noodle soup. The beef is tender and fatty, the noodles are chewy and fresh, and the broth is flavorful with the perfect touch of spice. The portions and prices are spot-on. I can't speak for the service of interior as I got a to-go order.

Delicious Chinese food in Millbrae! I was craving some lamb skewers and came by this place around dinner time. It was quite packed on a Friday night but we got seated pretty quickly. We ordered on the phone and paid on the phone as well. The food then came one by one. I got the beef noodle soup special with the smashed cucumbers and the lamb skewer. The lamb was perfectly cooked and super tender. The cumin balances out the lamb very well. The bao was decently OK, nothing really stands out about it in my opinion. The noodles are al dente in the beginning and the broth gives warmth. The chili oil noodles are even better, it is delicious and smells super fragrant of scallion and onion. I would get the dry noodle dish again if I go back! Overall, the experience is positive and I would go back for the dry noodle and the lamb skewer! The prices are reasonable as well.

Met a friend here for an early dinner and the place was empty. We ordered a signature beef noodle soup and a dish that basically seemed like a spicy tomatoe beef over hand cut noodles. (sorry didn't snap me menu pics). You can order from a QR code at the table and you hear your order go through with a "ding" to the kitchen. The food came out quickly and was nice and hot. My friend enjoys spicy so that's what we got. The beef noodle soup was generous with the beef and the spicy was not that bad. The tomatoe beefy noodle was 'cough' spicy! woo wee what heat! After my mouth got used to the spice level, it was pretty tasty! Overall a good hand pulled noodle place that had nice chewy noodles. The place is chill and not so noisy that you have to yell to be heard. I'd come back if i was in the mood for hand pulled noodles!

I love Lanzhou pulled noodles, and Jinweide is no exception. Once you arrive, you are able to scan a QR code to order. I got the potato salad and the zhajiangmian, and my boyfriend got the Lanzhou beef noodles and pork burger. I wish they put the components of the dish in the menu online so you could opt out, because both my zhajiangmian and potato salad came with bean sprouts (which I hate!!). I just picked through all of them and ate the remaining dish afterwards- the potato salad was yummy and the zhajiangmian was savory and came with lots of minced pork! My boyfriend enjoyed his Lanzhou beef noodles a lot, the beef was tender and the broth was incredibly flavorful and delicious. He liked the pork burger a lot as well, they did not skimp on the meat and the bun was fluffy! I would highly recommend this dish to anyone, it's a classic that is done well! This is a great addition to the downtown Millbrae array of authentic Chinese restaurants, I will be coming back!

Jinweide Lanzhou Beef Noodles in Millbrae is easily one of the best spots for authentic Lanzhou-style hand-pulled noodles in the Bay Area. From the moment you walk in, it feels casual but polished, with a clean, no-frills setup that lets the food shine. The noodles themselves are incredible--freshly hand-pulled, perfectly chewy, and obviously made to order. The broth is rich and savory without being heavy, and the slices of beef are tender and flavorful. You can customize the noodle thickness and spice level, which makes every bowl exactly how you like it. Portions are generous, service is quick and friendly, and the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality. Whether you're a long-time fan of Lanzhou-style beef noodles or trying them for the first time, Jinweide delivers an authentic, satisfying experience that keeps me coming back. Truly one of the best authentic Chinese noodle spots in the U.S.--worth the trip to Millbrae.

Came here during lunch hours with my sister. We ordered braised beef noodles, tomato egg noodles, and the cumin lamb chops. It was around 3pm when we got here. They do have parking here, but it's very limited parking in front of their restaurant. What I really like about this place is that the noodles are made fresh everyday. When you come into the restaurant and sit at the table, you can immediately order through the QR code. I was confused though about the different noodles you can order because it only said extra thin, regular, large, flat, sliced, but didn't show a picture example on the menu of which each one looks like. Because of that, my sister and I ended up ordering the wrong type of noodles. However, the employee was kind enough to give us the correct noodles on the side for us, which we really appreciate! I will say that there is a picture of the different noodles on the wall, but some of the names of the different types of noodles didn't correlate to the names in the QR code menu. I wanted the extra wide noodles, but when you order online or through the QR code, extra wide wasn't an option. The beef in the braised beef noodle soup was very tender. The broth was beefy and comforting. I do wish that there was a way to order extra green onion though. I've seen photos of other people's noodles come with a lot more green onion. If there's a way to customize spice level and the toppings, that would be great. I know you can add fried egg, radish slice, stewed egg, but that is just add-ons. The noodles were pretty good, but I was hoping they would be chewier. I really like how fresh they are though! Tomato and egg is such a classic and definitely did not disappoint. I usually go for a tomato and egg rice dish, but this one is worth trying too! I wish the menu actually had a description of what each noodle dish contains (including the toppings). This one was comforting as well. It was tangy, acidic, not too sour and savory. I like that both of the noodle dishes came with vegetables. You also get a decent amount of noodles. The cumin lamb chops were very flavorful. I'm a big fan of cumin seasoning. The lamb chops were the most expensive item we ordered, but we really wanted to give it a try. They were a little dry, but oily. I did love the crispiness, but some of the ribs did not have a lot of meat on them. The photo online definitely looks meatier. For the amount you're getting and the price you're paying, it wasn't very worth it, but I am still glad I tried it! This one definitely has a kick to it. I enjoyed the food and the friendly customer service. I'd love to come back to try their other noodle dishes.

Local place in Millbrae for hand pulled noodles. You can see the chef in the back hand pulling the noodles which is great to know that is really hand pulled and made in house. The noodles was chewy which cooked perfectly. The service was ok. Kinda tired of viewing menu on your small phone. We decided to ask for a real physical menu so we can look at everything a lot easier. The food was good but I think the OX 9 in San Mateo is little better in terms of flavor. The price was descent not overpriced. The restaurant was not busy so it's easy to get a table for dinner.

This is my go to spot for a good bowl of noodles. There are 2 locations, this one and one in San Mateo. The noodles are always made fresh and are handmade. The broth is also flavorful. I like the traditional hand pulled noodles but I've recently been ordering the pickled radish noodles or the oil spill noodles. I usually order the pig ears and the tofu salad as appetizers. It will get busy during busy hours like lunch or dinner so I'd recommend coming at an off time if you don't want to wait. The servers are very efficient so if you're looking for a quick in and out meal this would be the place!

Came in for lunch on a Tuesday. The place was bus but we still managed to get seated very quickly. The inside is very plain, they do have some pictures of their noodles on the walls but nothing to point out. Service is quick and you order through a QR code from your table. We waited about 5 minutes for our food. We had the traditional beef noodle soup with the medium size hand pulled noodles and spicy pig ears. The noodle soup was great! The broth was light and at the same time very flavorful and not overpowering in spices. The noodles were perfectly cooked and fresh. It could have more meat but for the price it is not bad. The pig ears were nicely sliced and not overly spicy to the point you couldn't enjoy them. Overall the food was great, service was fast and the prices were very fair! I'll definitely be back and try the other noodles and soups on the menu.

Now that we are in December, the weather has been super cold and icy. This place is the perfect spot for hot soup and noodles. Mild spicy Braised beef flat noodles was what I ordered and it did not disappoint. Noodles were a bit doughy; however, the clear broth and tender meat made the bowl delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Simple menu, self scan to order, will try other items next visit

I've been to a handful of Taiwanese beef noodle soup shops and compared to others, the flavor here falls a little short. The broth is clean, which I appreciate, but it leans a bit on the bland side. I even had to add more chili oil, which I felt ended up overpowering the original flavor. There was barely a wait time so it's a great place to get in and get out. I do like that you can choose your own noodle style. The noodles were actually bouncy, chewy, and the portion was huge. I couldn't even finish my bowl which might be worth it for some people. Maybe I came on a day when the soup wasn't at its best, but I did enjoy how hearty it was overall. I'd be willing to give it another try.

Stopped by and was able to get seated immediately for a quick, early Saturday night dinner. The restaurant was half full and there were two people working and taking orders. Ended up ordering the beef chow mein, the Lanzhou Traditional Hand Beef Noodle, and some cold side dishes (spicy pig ears and wood ear mushrooms). Safe to say the food is on the bland side. The most flavorful dish was the beef chow mein because of the sauce and variety of vegetables. Both cold side dishes weren't particularly strong in flavor besides the raw garlic in the mushrooms. The spicy pig ears were really hard and chewy, probably would be better if it was cut thinner. Portions were decent for the price, but overall this meal didn't particularly stand out to me.

My gauge is comparing it to Rooster and Rice (or What The Cluck) which is no longer available in the area. We did take out and ordered online. It came with cucumber and wood ear mushroom at least 8 pieces of chicken, fungus salad, some peanuts, one small egg roll, green onion paste and tasty rice cooked in some chicken stock/fat. It also included a small bowl of soup. It was all great in our opinion. When you order online - you get a text message that your order is confirmed. It wasn't bad but not stellar. 3/5 2 Braised Beef Brisket and Tendon Over Rice - nice balanced flavor; briskets were soft and tendons had the perfect texture. 4/5 3 Spicy Pork Ear - heavy on the peppercorns, otherwise it would have been great. 3/5 They close early at 8pm so need to plan for an early/regular dinner. A number of people stopped by after 8pm expecting to be seated thinking 9pm is closing. We had also given the string beans, green onion pancake, and pork and shrimp dumplings a shot and all of them hit the spot. I'm usually a huge fan of braised beef noodle soup so decided to get that here too. It wasn't the same as if I had gotten this dish at a Taiwanese restaurant; compared to the strong flavors of the other dishes, this one was pretty mild. So it's something I would skip next time I come, but every other dish was on point. Our waitress was also great at taking care of us, bring out our food quickly and helping us to clear the other plates. The drumettes were meaty which I appreciated. They were well seasoned also. I think I need to try their other wings before crowning these, but some of the cruncheist wings I've had for sure. Grade: A- Beef Dac Biet Pho had some real high quality meat in it. I had options in noodle and my go-to for any pho spot is the egg noodles. I wish it had more bo vien in it, but I appreciated the combo of meats. The broth seemed authentic, but I wanted a tad more flavor out of it without adding sauces. Overall, the pho grade was a B+ bordering an A-. The star of the show was the grilled pork banh mi. The meat was tender and saucy. In fairness I asked for extra pickles and mayo, but I was very impressed. The bread had the crispy crunch we all look for but minus the stale bread. The breads soft yet crispness made it seem as if it just came out of the oven! I'm going to dub this as the best I've had in the Bay Area! There I said it! Grade: A+ Everyone who ordered the sampler seemed very pleased at other tables, I would definitely try that. Also, want to try the other banh mis and noodle options for the pho. There was a nice vibe at this place. I didn't feel rushed although they do close fairly early at 8pm. The server's mom is the one cooking in the kitchen and I appreciated the family feeling at this place. They do have a newer location in San Francisco that has a DJ Friday nights that I may check out. I believe the server said that they are open til 2am on most nights, but I may have misheard her. Feel free to Yelp that location. My only disappointment was that I really love papaya salad and it was not an option. I may make this my go-to spot from now on, but as a Yelper, we all know we will keep trying new places. This will be the one I continue to frequent. Well done Pho de Nguyen!

As our search continues for great pho closer to home than San Jose, we decided to try Pho de Nguyen…read moretoday. Overall, the meal was okay. We can't really complain, but it also wasn't memorable enough for us to come back. The broth was decent, but if you're a pho lover, you know the broth is what makes or breaks the experience and this one just didn't stand out. After lunch we went grocery shopping, and that's when things took a turn. My husband suddenly started sweating, and my stomach began making all kinds of unhappy noises. We hadn't eaten anything else that day, so we suspect something from the meal didn't sit well with either of us. That said, we can't say for certain that the restaurant was the cause. The restaurant itself looked clean, and the service was perfectly fine. Unfortunately, between the average broth and how we both felt afterward, it's just not a place we'll be returning to.
