Went in for a latte this morning, and it was a great experience. They were busy, and despite just having one barista, everyone was served promptly. When told I was from Alaska, he made small talk about it. He seemed to genuinely enjoy serving the public. The dining room was clean, and well kept up. There were pictures and Knick knacks, all with a positive or humorous theme to them in the establishment, and several American flags lined the entryway. Hubby and I stopped in on our way home after a week of camping in a rainforest of the Olympic National Park. Finding a quaint restaurant along Pacific Coast Highway is always a welcome change from the endless fast-food chains. Sam, the owner, was kind and made suggestions for lunch. I had the Panzanella Panini and hubby had biscuits and gravy (his favorite) with sausage, topped off with an over-easy egg. All delicious! Sam made me the best Cafe' Con Azuquita I've had in a long time. I love the attention to personal service, the military display, historical photos, and the nod to Christ. Great experience! read more

Can I please give this place more than 5 stars? I've been wanting to go here for years but the hours didn't align with my schedule until they extended them post covid. I was pleasantly surprised by the cafe itself with the high ceilings, hardwood floors and the beautiful pastry case. It has an old but warm charm especially in the beautiful LaVogue building. The owner was more than kind and welcoming. I told him I've heard nothing but great reviews from locals and was so excited to check this place out. They have some breakfast items, lunch items, and soup of the day. All made in house. The owner recommended the chicken tortilla soup, white chocolate raspberry scone and the cafe con azuquita. I was sold as you can tell he knows his coffee. Pastries are baked in-house daily, meals are made to order and the coffee smelled like quality. Tortilla soup- check. This stuff was perfect on a cloudy Grays Harbor day White chocolate raspberry scone- I don't even like white chocolate but this was excellent. The texture was soft and moist on the inside (can you say "fresh"?) And the flavor was on point. Can't complain about the size either! Cafe con Azuquita- this is a Puerto Rican flavor latte of a mixture of sugars and salts put into a paste that the owner has been working on for years. It wasn't too sweet so you could actually taste the coffee. People, this is what a GREAT cup of coffee is! The owner and baker were both at the cafe and were incredibly kind. He was quick to help me with the door as I ordered more than what normal people probably do for one person. Hoquiam, you've been blessed with yet another great establishment that I hope sees many successful years. You can bet that I will be back! read more

(Not cheap) first, they only brought out one water with 6 people at a table, they took 40 mins to get us the first dish, each dish was brought out over the course of 10 mins. 5 out of the 6 dishes were prepared wrong or overcooked or with the wrong sides or with something we didn't order. It took them 10 minutes to fix this. After all of that the avocado toast was lightly toasted bread with sliced avocado on top, no salt not mushed. This took 40. This is a great little place for a nice breakfast with a cozy vibe. We wanted something quick, but we didn't want fastfood. The breakfast sandwich was large and yummy. The whipped oatmeal was both light and filling. The cappuccino I had, had the right amount of milk and just enough sweetness to smooth over the espresso for me. It was obvious that the place had good wi-fi and that it was a good place for a one-on-one meeting. They kept the original front door, so make sure you close it upon entering and leaving. I am so very pleased with the service and product offered at the Jitter House. We were planning and preparing for a wedding and trying to cater it on a budget. The Jitter House came through with providing 60 panini sandwiches that we received in our cooler to keep warm for serving when needed after the ceremony. There was an assortment of chicken apricot, vegan, and vegetarian panini which everyone loved and ate their fill. No-one left hungry. :-) Sam made the arrangements painless and easy. All communications were prompt and curtious. The other staff were very helpful with our paying a deposit and choosing the appropriate sized cooler and even with carrying the full cooler out and into our car. The Jitter House is a great place to stop and visit as well as they can work with your needs for providing food for catering of an event at an affordable price. read more

If you're ever in Hoquiam, this place has the best coffee!!! We both had Cafe Con Azuquita--delicious!! My son had one with dairy milk, I had mine with almond milk (the cafe offers almond, soy, coconut and hemp for vegan options) We got our lattes and enjoyed a few games of chess at one of the tables. The place has a nice food menu as well, though we only had the coffee while we were there. Service was nice, the staff and owner were welcoming and it just felt like a nice place to hang out for a bit. The bonus part of our visit to this cafe? I went to the bathroom and found the owner and my son playing a speed round of chess, which my son thoroughly enjoyed. While my son is a pretty good player, the owner is better. My son loved it, since he learned a few things from this spontaneous game. While we aren't locals, we will definitely come back when we are in the area again. read more

Honestly blown away. Best hand crafted coffee I've ever had - cafe con azuquita. A tiny hint of salt, sweet and a strong complex flavor of coffee. It was delicious. This is a 5-star coffee house in every way. We were searching for a quiet, sit-down coffee place and everywhere we went was a drive through until we found the Jitter House. We walked in and right away felt at home. The owner was incredibly hospitable and welcoming; he even let my work-from-the-road husband set up his basically full-scale computer at one of the tables. The coffee was delicious (and original; I tried one of their own unique latte recipes, yum) and the food was delicious and our entire experience was delightful and is now a fond summer memory. Hopefully we will return again someday, but you should absolutely go here to create your own fond memories if you have the opportunity. We stopped for coffee and a snack and were blown away by the friendliness of the woman working there. It's a great space in an old building.
