Apple fritter cruffin, chocolate zucchini muffin, cranberry orange muffin, rhubarb danish, cheddar chive scone
    Del A.

Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 I'll start off by saying that I haven't tried any of their drinks at this location but I got a few pastries and was pleasantly surprised at how good they were! I made my order for pickup in the evening and scored with having no line when I walked in. The staff member behind the counter was really friendly and had my order ready to go which was great because I was in and out in 2min. I picked up an Apple fritter cruffin, a chocolate zucchini muffin, a cranberry orange muffin, a cheddar and chive scone, and a rhubarb pastry. Normally with chains I have low expectations for pastries but these were all really good! The muffins were super moist and the scone had a great flavour but the two winners were definitely the cruffin and the danish! There's ample seating here but whenever I pass by it seems to be a popular spot for people on their laptops so it might be hard getting a table since the turnover is quite slow. I plan on coming back to see how it is sitting in the cafe as well!

14th and Main Street location of JJ Bean offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, JJ Bean baking and a homey interior. Our first time at this location, we were able to find street parking a few steps away. There are a lot of dining and coffee places close by, this area is popular with locals and tourists alike. We shared our standard Americano plus a savoury cheese and chive scone and very berry muffin. Nice touch, they have wooden cutlery and butter on the condiment area. They also have stevia and a good supply of napkins. Staff was friendly, order came up quickly and the coffee was very good. Establishment was clean and tables were cleared. Overall 4.5 out of 5 IMO.

Stopped by for some bike ride coffee stop at 7.30am on a weekday. Great service and really convenient location. Spacious patio outside away from the traffic / cars.

    Terrible sandwich

Yes, another disappointment and very surprised as this place had four and five star reviews. Coffee smelled great that's what brought me in and I wanted a sandwich to go. I bought a package roasted chicken sandwich for $11. Photos below and what a surprise that it had nothing in it except hard discolored chicken with no lettuce or tomato and Soggy bread. Oh well scratch this one off my list for next time

    Vegan berry parfait

This review will be short, but perhaps not sweet. I've been here before and wasn't a fan, and years later I'm still not a fan. I ordered a vegan parfait and honestly it could have been so much better than it was. I particularly didn't like the granola. It was literally all pumpkin seeds. The parfait also wasn't sweet enough. It was one of the most unpleasant desserts I've had in awhile. Just because it's vegan doesn't mean it shouldn't be appetizing. I could have a designed a better one, honestly. The ambiance is ok, nothing great. I doubt I'll give this place a third chance.

Came here for some coffee. Parking is available on the side streets. This location is quite different in that there is a really nice large patio that extends onto the street. Definitely makes the outdoor experience way more enjoyable. Special mention. Not sure if this is only during the summer months though. As for the coffee, it's pretty decent.

The mochas and their Krispy Oatmeal Raisin Cookie are a must try!! (or just try ANY cookie - I swear they never disappoint!) I've tried my fair share of mochas across Vancouver, and nothing beats the mochas made here! I love the strong chocolatey taste, and it honeslty feels like a warm and awakening cup of hug. This JJ Bean is in a very lovely and friendly neighbourhood. As a bonus, only at this location, there are always a few pigeons who somehow sneak in the store, and it's so entertaining watching the pigeons pick up the crumbs off the floor and eventually find their way out of the store!

Parking can be a bit tricky -- if you're lucky, you might find street parking right out front. With limited space inside, expect a line outside if there are more than a few people ahead of you. We ordered the Earl Grey Matcha, Earl Grey Flat White, and a Pastéis de Nata. The drinks took about five minutes to prepare, and the staff worked efficiently. Their menu seems to rotate seasonally, so you might find limited-time or specialty flavors depending on when you visit. As for the drinks, they were just okay in my opinion. The flat white was quite strong, and while it included Earl Grey syrup, the flavor didn't come through as clearly as expected. The Pastéis de Nata was decent -- not too sweet, but a bit dense. Overall, prices are reasonable for what you get. Worth a visit if you're curious about their seasonal offerings.

This was excellent. They also do the traditional strawberry as well. They also had the best cardamom bun I've ever had. Truly a must visit if you live here or you're visiting. The way they do the frozen matcha is amazing. Truly epic.

Unfortunately, this one was a bit disappointing. The interior was overly moist, the caramelized crust lacked the crispness I was hoping for, and the honeycomb structure wasn't very well developed. Overall, it was just average. We also ordered the Strawberry Pistachio Tart. The strawberries were fresh with a nice balance of sweetness, and there was a good amount of pistachio chunks. However, it lacked the layers of flavor that make a tart memorable. On the bright side, the coffee was excellent and easily my favorite part of the visit. I'd happily come back for a coffee, but I'd probably try different pastries next time.
