Let me tell you how excited I am to FINALLY find a not just got, but DELICIOUS Chinese restaurant in the area! :D It's taken me about a year and there's definitely been some misses. I was looking for not only good quality food with my favorite Chinese dishes, but good service too. I found a restaurant in Valley Ranch, but the manager is just awful. Here at JJ's Diner that is not the case. We ordered a few different things: the Mongolian beef lo mein, egg roll, wonton soup, orange chicken and hot jasmin tea. Everything was delicious - ESPECIALLY the beef lo mein.This alone made me want to be glutinous. The orange chicken was good too and surprisingly meaty. You get large chunks of chicken that's well flavored in the orange sauce and not too bready. Our server was attention and polite. The hot tea was served in a cute tea kettle and rid enough for a two or so people. I'll be glad to go back SOON. read more

We love this place. Always reliable-always fresh-always hot. We have ordered delivery from them consistently before and after the pandemic and it's still delicious. You can order online and if there is an issue-they will call you right away to make sure the order is okay. I always forget my last experience and return... food not good - Panda Express is even better... staff is very nice but it smells inside and the food is not proportional for what one would expect. I ordered orange chicken and the pieces are so large that one must work extra hard just to get to the meal. Had Kung Po Beef. Very bland and sauce seemed somewhat lumpy. Seemed more like brown gravy thickened with to much flour. Thought I would give the place and now I know. Hope you have better luck. read more

We had dinner this past week at JJ China Diner. Food was excellent. I had orange chicken. It was fried crispy then put in a sauce. Large chuncks of chicken. Food looked very appealing. I very much enjoyed it. Along with steamed rice. Husband had mushu chicken. It was delicious. We were very pleased with the food, our dining experience. Food excellent. We will be back. Often. Customer service excellent. Our server was great. Highly recommend. We will be back very soon bc you will crave the food. We'd had several times take out. Quick good place for lunch. Standard Chinese American fare. Nothing to write home about, but no complaints.

The restaurant can be an empty sometimes, but don't let that fool you, the the price is great and the flavor is even better. Whether it's to go or eating inside, they're super quick it's super fresh. I will also say I've never experienced any time where it's not been super clean on the tables or the floor always looks the same super clean. - And just as a personal note, I am someone who's very particular what I want in and left out and so on my food and they make me happy every time. read more

Take-Out Order The sweet and sour pork was so fresh and they gave me so much I literally ate it for lunch with no complaints for the following 2 days. The chinese biscuits came with powdered sugar on them and they were honestly the best I've had yet. On the other hand, I didn't really care for the crab ragoons which are usually my favorite. They lacked in flavor and crab, I honestly don't think there was crab in them at all. JJ China Diner I ignored since they have opened back in 2014 because I thought this was another mediocre Chinese restaurant like everywhere else in a 10 mile radius but in the past several months I have been here quite a few times and I have grown to like this place each time I come to dine or take out. the food here is not excellent but its good & delicious. their single order are portion for two people but I'm not complaining! who doesn't love bang for their buck when you can get a lot for a little. two single orders I can probably feed a family of 4-5 save yourself some money while doing this, they also offer family dinners for 2 family and dinners for up to 7 people so a family of 2 can feed about 6 people it all depends on how certain people like to eat. as for the food I've had several items on the menu and my top 2 dishes is the shrimp lo mein and the sesame chicken in brown sauce these two I recommend , the shrimp lo mein is bomb! some of the best lo mein I've eaten in a long time and the shrimp are a nice size cooked well also I've had the combination lo mein that has beef, chicken & shrimp and chicken lo mein, these lo mein dishes are good but I prefer the shrimp over all. the sesame chicken in brown sauce is delicious their boneless white meat chunks which you get about 6 pieces in an order. other good dishes I've eaten like chicken & broccoli, kung pao shrimp, shrimp & chicken cashew, chicken & veggies in brown sauce are all good to name a few. I'm a little surprise to see that they have quite a few curry dishes and Thai dishes on the menu, now as far as Thai I've tried the shrimp pad Thai it's not authentic but was good I can say it was a generic version from authentic, but I look forward to explore their curry's and other Thai dishes. for apps and soups I've had crab Rangoon, vegetable spring rolls, wanton soup, and egg drop soup and they are all delicious and goes good pairing with your meal. the place has some comfy seating for dine in, the place is clean. this place also has flat screen tv's on the wall and they have enough seating to accommodate a small group of people. good place for some good Chinese. Even though Panda Express is next-door it pales in comparison to JJ China diner it's way more delicious, and less expensive. I don't understand why people would go to panda express when they have this great diner so close. Their food is made to order and the lunch pricing is awesome.I've been coming here over two years and not once have they let me down. JJ China diner always exceeds my expectations, not only just in food, but also been cleanliness and friendliness. Great staff with great food and great service for more could you ask for. Ordered Orange Chicken with fried rice and fried vegetarian egg roll to go. Surprisingly ready in just 4 minutes! "Fresh" from frozen? Couldn't get past first few bites. Rice undercooked, discolored and bland. Tasted dry and past hold time. Breading on orange chicken was crusty and did not taste fresh cooked. Chicken breast meat was dry as if cooked from frozen, not fresh chicken. Spring rolls were lesser quality than store bought...also cooked from frozen, not fresh and discolored as if fried in old oil (what kind? Hydrogenated?) Commercial sweet and sour side had after taste. Printed Take Out menu read, "New Management", and yet, reflected "new prices" since last, less than satisfactory experience more than 2 years ago. Total bill was nearly $16....Neighboring Panda Express, though not much better (see past reviews) would have been better option at HALF the price, WITH vegetables and better quality spring rolls. Maybe the extra 2 miles to Pai Wei on Kingwood Dr would have been worth the drive? Will attempt to return and request either a full refund or, another fresh made menu option to be consumed (maybe?) Me and the wife tried it for the first time on Christmas Day. I got the fried rice combination and the wife got the sweet n sour chicken. May I say they are VERY generous with the quantity of the fried rice and the chicken. As far as flavor it was pretty good! Will definitely be my go to for fried rice! read more

I ordered the ginger tilapia with fried rice and it was a disappointment. The fried rice was simply white rice fried in soy sauce for way too long to the point where some grains seemed to have reverted back to their natural state. There were no vegetables or anything tossed in with it. The rice wasn't even the worst part. The ginger salmon was terrible. The sauce was very thin and runny. There was more broccoli than there was actual fish. The batter on the batter on the fish was soggy and fell off the fish as well. I think the part that put the final nail on the shed was the ginger. They didn't even try to finely dice up the ginger. There were just huge thick strands of ginger in every bite and you could even see that the outer layer of the ginger was not cut off. read more

I've tried this place three times. The food is awful. It has no seasoning. The chicken is big hunks of quartered chicken breast. Even the wings do not have good seasoning. On the good side, despite being bland, it didn't taste salty either. One strange thing though. Their General Tso's Chicken was startling because it contained many identically huge round solid balls of chicken. It made me think:of the chickens from Mysterious Island or the Food of the Gods. We found out this place had just opened and we went last night for dinner. My thoughts. 1. Brand new so it was super clean. 2. Small but spacious booths 3. Went there yesterday (3/27) at around 4pm-5pm for dinner before work, and I have to say that it's not to shabby. Walked in, was greeted and said "Sit where ever you like". Took the waiter a bit to come ask for my order, but I guess he wanted to give me adequate time to look over the menu since there's alot of food to choose from. Ordered the Crab rangoons (6 for $4.50) and they were amazing! Hot, fresh and crispy just how I like them!. Proceeded to order the Mongolian chicken. Fresh, juicy, not as spicy as I would have liked them to be, but still great! More than I could eat so I didn't finish on account of the 4 Crab rangoons I just destroyed haha. Good news: convenient, decent price, & good portions. My Gen Tso chicken was very good and the sauce was delicious. Service was good outside of the waitress barely didn't understand English or what we were trying to explain that we were sharing it all. Bad news: wife got lo mien chicken, son got chicken broccoli, & I got Gen Tso chicken. On the Lo Mien & Chicken Broccoli, the chicken was rubbery to me. Wife/son thought it was ok so maybe it was just me & they didn't want to complain & were really hungry. I tried the restaurant for the first time. their dine in area is closed, only curb side is open. I drove there and called my order in from the parking. one order of chicken lo mein and one order mangolian beef. almost 20 minutes later my food came out. I paid and drove home. Once home we sat down to eat and I we opened the bag, there was one large order of beef fried rice and the Mongolian beef. never mind the flavor of the food, that was unacceptable service considering they are not even open for dine in. I have a thing for sweet and sour chicken...and this is one of the closest places around that I can get it...and get it cooked very well done...the staff is very helpful if you are not sure what you want...and the sizes of all the dishes are pretty huge...biggest plus is the price tag on each dish...my little man loves coming here...so when I ask him if he wants Chinese food...he always picks this place...I have yet to take home anything I didn't like...but I nearly forgot their attempt at making Chicken Pai Thai...let's just say that that's the one dish I won't be ordering again...but overall the rice...soups...and most of the chicken dishes are pretty tasty and always fresh... I don't eat beef or pork so I can't speak on those dishes...but if you live in the Kingwood area... this is a really nice place to relax and chill read more
