My husband and I absolutely love this place! The price can't be beat! I often get the wonton soup and lomein and have also had their pad Thai and love all of them! Great little place, good service and fast!

We finally took in JJ China Diner for lunch. Food was fresh and very tasty. I had Happy Family with fried rice. Service was excellent and the prices are good. They do have lunch specials. Large portions on the regular menu. Enough for two. This will be a place we will be going a lot!

Egg drop soup was great flavor and consistency

Sweet & Sour Pork - Fried Rice & Cream Cheese Ragoons w/ Biscuit

Take-Out Order The sweet and sour pork was so fresh and they gave me so much I literally ate it for lunch with no complaints for the following 2 days. The chinese biscuits came with powdered sugar on them and they were honestly the best I've had yet. On the other hand, I didn't really care for the crab ragoons which are usually my favorite. They lacked in flavor and crab, I honestly don't think there was crab in them at all. Fried rice wasn't all the rave but, was good with the addition of their sweet and sour sauce.. which was also a bit runny than I prefer.

JJ China Diner I ignored since they have opened back in 2014 because I thought this was another mediocre Chinese restaurant like everywhere else in a 10 mile radius but in the past several months I have been here quite a few times and I have grown to like this place each time I come to dine or take out. the food here is not excellent but its good & delicious. their single order are portion for two people but I'm not complaining! who doesn't love bang for their buck when you can get a lot for a little. two single orders I can probably feed a family of 4-5 save yourself some money while doing this, they also offer family dinners for 2 family and dinners for up to 7 people so a family of 2 can feed about 6 people it all depends on how certain people like to eat. as for the food I've had several items on the menu and my top 2 dishes is the shrimp lo mein and the sesame chicken in brown sauce these two I recommend , the shrimp lo mein is bomb! some of the best lo mein I've eaten in a long time and the shrimp are a nice size cooked well also I've had the combination lo mein that has beef, chicken & shrimp and chicken lo mein, these lo mein dishes are good but I prefer the shrimp over all. the sesame chicken in brown sauce is delicious their boneless white meat chunks which you get about 6 pieces in an order. other good dishes I've eaten like chicken & broccoli, kung pao shrimp, shrimp & chicken cashew, chicken & veggies in brown sauce are all good to name a few. I'm a little surprise to see that they have quite a few curry dishes and Thai dishes on the menu, now as far as Thai I've tried the shrimp pad Thai it's not authentic but was good I can say it was a generic version from authentic, but I look forward to explore their curry's and other Thai dishes. for apps and soups I've had crab Rangoon, vegetable spring rolls, wanton soup, and egg drop soup and they are all delicious and goes good pairing with your meal. the place has some comfy seating for dine in, the place is clean. this place also has flat screen tv's on the wall and they have enough seating to accommodate a small group of people. good place for some good Chinese. I will continue to keep coming back.

I've done Peking…read moreCuisine for years and shifted to Arco for my duck cravings, but if you're willing to drive out to Humble (pretty much anytime you're in the IAH area), you gotta check out Bamboo House for the best Peking duck. And their other menu items are fire as well! We went on a Sunday late evening. We had a 9 pm airport pickup at IAH so it was a perfect opportunity to grab a spectacular dinner and make the 30+ minute drive out to IAH totally worth it. Parking lot wasn't too full so that wasn't an issue. While the neighborhood ain't River Oaks luxury, it ain't too scary either. We kept it simple - ordered a whole duck and Bamboo House Special Noodle with Beef. This place ain't cheap but the food is worth every penny. It was very busy that evening so it's not a well-kept secret but also proves that eventually, Houstonians will figure out where the good food is. The duck was near perfect. They serve the duck with the pancakes (as opposed to the buns like at Arco) which is my preference. The soup that comes with it was also extremely flavorful. And the house special noodles with beef - oh my. I swear it's just one really long noodle so you may be frustrated trying to divvy up the family style bowl, but the labor is worth it. So good... Can't wait for my next airport run so I can sneak in a lunch or dinner at this place. So many other menu items I want to try!

I had previously visited the now closed Bamboo House on Westheimer and I remember being impressed by the food. I had to make an airport run and decided that it would be perfect timing to stop by this location. I highly recommend ordering the duck ahead of time, but we were lucky enough to snag one of the last ducks when we arrived around 7 pm on a Sunday evening. The waitress was super friendly and upbeat and the restaurant is older but well maintained. You can see where the food is being prepared/cooked and you can see ducks being cooked/warmed behind a glass window. The duck was absolutely spectacular with the perfect seasoned and tender meat accompanied by well rendered crispy skin. I love how the pancakes are paper thin and pair well with the scrumptious duck and other toppings. They also provide sugar and plum sauce as additional toppings which I thought was interesting but not my cup of tea. The duck soup was extremely flavorful and full bodied and went well with the duck. The noodles were also amazing with likely hand pulled noodles served with an abundance of tender beef and vegetables with a little Sichuan kick. I was intrigued by a strawberry chicken dish that I saw on the menu and I plan to try it the time. My diagnosis: hands down the best Peking duck in the greater Houston area!

They are not related to another similar sounding restaurant Nee Hao, over near the airport. Their layout is L shaped once inside and fairly bright compared to old school Chinese restaurants with darker floors and interiors. I felt the interior is very mixmatched with a tropical theme in one area, a replica british telephone booth in another area, a room decorated in numerous flowers, and restrooms with distressed wood looking porcelain giving off a Texas country vibe. The space does have high ceilings, which is fairly unique for a casual Chinese restaurant. The menu contains 2 parts, their standard menu and a separate single-page combo menu. Each combo which is a few dollars more than the entree and comes with iced tea, a sesame ball, a fried chicken wing, crispy spring roll, a soup and crispy wonton chips. Wow, they really include a lot for just a few dollars more. Most of the entrees are your typical Americanized Chinese dishes but a few are more authentic, like the 3 different fish filled dishes and the black pepper chicken cutlet. Their regular menu has hot pot, some Sichuan cuisine appetizers, beef noodle dishes, Taiwanese dishes, veggies, a fried section, and a fried rice and noodle section. Some of the more interesting dishes include a swan-shaped durian pastry, brown sugar sticky rice cake, and 2 different stir-fried crawfish dishes. I went with the tried and true Mongolian beef combo. This turned out to be one of the best Mongolian beef dishes I've ever had. It gets an 8 as far as presentation and is very colorful. It comes with cilantro and diced green onions, which you dont see very often on this dish. The sauce, which is normally a thick brown, is a lighter chili oil here instead and tastes like a dish you would eat at the more authentic Chinese restaurants in Bellaire area. The beef is very tender and melts in your mouth. I was unfortunately not a fan of the chicken wing or the vegetarian spring roll. Maybe it was the oil they fry them in.....not sure. Service here is pretty good as well. My iced tea was refilled a few times as needed. I will say their TV's were on the fritz during my visit amd should be checked. One had no signal and another above my table was frozen on a children's program.
