We had an awful experience with our first pool contractor. They had dug and completed the rebar but then left it like that for a year with no further work. We decided to work with JJ pools to finish the job. Both Jesse Jr and Jesse Sr were easy and great to work with. They responded quickly to any text or email we sent and finished the pool in a very reasonable time frame. We also had them do our pavers and retaining wall and the they did a phenomenal job for a very good price. Jesse Jr even helped us place an order for pavers that we used for the pool for a landscaping project even after the project had been completed. I would 100% recommend them! read more

We absolutely love how our pool turned out from JJ's pools. We had to get our pool refinished and plastered. We also got brand new light installed as well. We are absolutely in love with the way our pool looks. Jesse had great communication and was very thorough with the work that was done. He was genuinely concerned about how we felt about the pool coming out and wanted to make sure that we were absolutely 100% happy with the service that was done, and we can both say that we were extremely impressed and blown away. He went above and beyond to make sure that we felt comfortable through the whole process as well as making sure that there were no hiccups, problems, or discrepancies left behind. His company met our expectations and exceeded them. His prices are extremely fair compared to everybody else on the market. Not to mention every time we called big pool companies they never returned our calls or seemed to never have time for us and the prices seem to be pretty unreasonable and extremely expensive. Jesse returned our call promptly and made time for us. He gave us an extremely fair price for the work that was being done on our pool. This was a process that was completely unfamiliar to us and he was good at explaining what was going to be done to our pool from start to finish, and never seemed to have a problem when we asked questions about the process. It made us feel a lot more comfortable about the work that was being done. There is even a start up process for your pool after it has been refinished and plastered and he was able to recommend a guy to us that was able to help us out with a month-long startup process. I searched for a company that did pool replastering week before last and got nothing but recordings or no call backs, very disappointing. I then found JJPools and hit the pool jackpot. When I called a human answered the phone. A polite, professional, with obvious pool knowledge after a couple questions. I have a free form pool with large Acapulco bench that's twenty years old. JJ Pools, which stands for Jesse Jr. and Jesse Sr., "J & J," is a father and son team that did a great job on our pool - see photos attached. They are an established family company and after interviewing 5 or more different companies to do our pool, we choose JJ Pools. JJ Pools was reasonable in their price point compared with the other contractors who had fancier brochures but hire random subcontractors to do the work after you sign the agreement. Because JJ Pools is a family business, they do the work themselves, and therefore don't charge all the extra overhead, time or labor. Most importantly, JJ Pools is honest, and they run the business like a family business, the way it is supposed to be. Anytime I had a question Jesse Junior would respond right away or come over to address it head on. Anytime there was a technical problem JJ Senior would personally be there to figure it out. The communication and teamwork was great. On our project, like any project, there were some surprises after we broke ground, but JJ Pools took care of the change orders, reasonably, instead of trying to price gouge us when we were under duress. With JJ Pools, they were just focused on doing a great job, delivering the project how they had promised it, and ensuring customer satisfaction too. We needed to resurface our pool and redo the plumbing. I didn't appreciate that the Yelp reviews for all pool builders in the bay area are generally terrible. I invited 6-7 contractors out to our site to meet each group in person. The bids from several were nearly 2x the average and those contractors were eliminated immediately. JJ's bid was not the lowest but was fair relative to where others came in at. What stood out to me was Jesse's responsiveness on text/email. I hate contractors that go dark on you (especially when problems happen) - Jesse is the most responsive I've worked with across multiple projects. They did an excellent job with the pool itself and dealt with a painful permit process with Woodside. We are extremely happy with the pool and even happier with our choice of JJ. Called several times to my an appointment to have my pool sweep repaired and no one ever answered or returned my voice messages

Our 40 year old swimming pool recently developed a serious leak mainly due to a deteriorating light fixture and light niche. It needed repairs which would force an entire resurfacing. Unfortunate for us, since we had had the pool resurfaced and retiled with new coping and equipment approximately 10 years earlier by a different company. Didn't want to use that company again and the other pool repair places suggested by our leak detection company either did not service Santa Clara County, were unable to schedule the job until September or bid the job way outside our budget range. Finally found JJPools by word of mouth recommendation from our HVAC tech. JJPools did a great job taking care of the whole project in less than a month. They were willing to work with us to keep the cost within our budget, suggesting an alternative cleaning instead of replacement which allowed us to retain the tile and coping. They also brought electrical and drain fixtures up to current code and supplied electronic documentation for the new light and drain equipment we received. Enjoyed working with both Jesse Sr. and Jr. very much. Communication via texts and emails always answered my questions and cleared up any issues so there were no problems. They don't do the chemical start-up after the pool is refilled, so my regular pool service took care of that.
