I came to this place because Google said it's Chinese which I was craving but it's actually Korean with just a couple Chinese options. It's really small and the parking is even smaller. Service was great the ladies were really nice. I tried the Tangsuyuk for the first time with chicken. It was a large portion meant for 2 and I finished half. I liked how light and crispy the chicken was although the pieces didn't seem to have too much meat. I dipped it in the sweet & sour sauce which made it twice as good. I would go back to try something else by accident lol.
Legit jjampong. They serve a big portion that's enough for two. That was the best dish among those we ordered: jjajangmyung, seafood stir fried jjajangmyun and tangsooyuk. All were good though. Really friendly service. I'd say this rivals, if not surpasses, Peking Gourmet in Garden Grove.

While waiting for our food, I noticed that the restaurant had quite a few online delivery orders -- a good sign of local popularity. BLACK BEAN NOODLE (JJAJANGMYEON) - The Black Bean Noodles were savory and mildly sweet, with bits of pork and vegetables like onions and zucchini. It's the kind of dish that kids would enjoy -- comforting, flavorful, and fun to slurp. SWEET AND SOUR PORK (TANGSUYUK) - We asked for the Sweet and Sour sauce to be served on the side. The sauce reminded me of Panda Express's version but had a sweeter note, likely from a touch of pineapple. In Korea, there's an ongoing debate about whether the sauce should be poured over the meat or served separately. Personally, I prefer it on the side so I can control how much sauce goes on each bite. The fried pork was crunchy and flavorful on its own. Overall, both dishes were satisfying, one of the better Korean-Chinese meals I've had in Koreatown, Orange County, though not particularly standout. Still, a solid spot if you're craving these comforting classics.
Highly recommend! They had the best 짜장면, 짬뽕, and 탕수육 I've ever had (and I grew up eating these very often)! I had this craving for a while, and they really lived up to my expectations. The noodles were the perfect amount of chewiness&softness. The black bean sauce was strong, flavorful, and filled with meat and onions. The spicy soup was rich and comforting; we opted for the kalbi instead of the original seafood, and there was an abundance of meat. The fried pork had an amazing crispy texture, and I was happy to see the sauce come on the side so they don't get soggy as time passes. Side dishes included cubed kimchi and yellow radish, both ripe and seasoned well The portions were very large (my photos don't do it justice because my phone was super close to the bowls)! Each dish was family-size, ideal for sharing. We came as a party of two, but had enough to set aside some for my parents and still have leftovers for ourselves Service was wonderful! We were seated, had our orders taken, and received our meals in about 10-15 minutes! Our waitress checked on us and every table numerous times. She was so helpful, even packaging our leftovers for us and giving us extra sauces to take home Also, they provide aprons for dine-in customers, which we thought was brilliant and cute! They were freshly-washed as I could smell the detergent on them, and prevented any stains on our clothing

The jjajangmyeon ($13.99) tasted delicious and filled me up. I didn't expect to get an extra small bowl of jjajang sauce with the dish, but it was welcomed. The food arrived quickly after I got seated. There was complementary yellow radish, kimchi, and jjamppong (spicy seafood broth). While I enjoyed the food, I did see an ant on my table. For that, I'm docking off one star. Also, the picture of the jjajangmyeon had sliced cucumbers on it, but my meal didn't have them. The parking lot for this restaurant is quite small, but I luckily got a spot right as someone left. However, the nearby bus stop at the intersection of Beach Blvd. and Commonwealth Ave. has connections to OCTA routes 29, 29A, and 123 and Metro line 460.

But listen, that vegetable tofu with garlic sauce? Chef's kiss - absolute perfection, 5 stars, no question. The jajangmyeon was just okay, nothing to write home about, but who cares when the portions are MASSIVE. The service crew was very attentive. Get in there, bring your appetite, and prepare to feast like the warrior you are!

The mapo tofu was more mild than a Chinese one but was still yummy as well and goes well with rice. The spot is a cozy place in a small plaza and the service was friendly. I'd give this spot a try if you're in the mood for some Korean noodles!
Not the best but very yummy jjajangmyun that is close and convenient. Surprisingly the jjambbong wasn't as spicy as others I've tried and the flavor was very deep. Lots of seafood in the soup too! And of course my fav deep fried tangsuyuk to accompany my dishes! The waitress was really nice and even offered me a bib to cover my white shirt haha

First off, giant portions! These dishes could definitely be shared, which we learned quickly once we saw tables around us doing so. Consider sharing unless you want to try different items, of course! I came with my two other friends and there was a bit of a wait, but there is only limited seating so the space fills up quickly, especially during colder and rainy peak days. The menu is simple and offers their selection of noodles, noodle soups, tofu dishes, fried rice, and more types of stir fried and deep fried entrees. We each ordered one of their jjamppong dishes and one tangsuyuk (fried pork). We got the original, white, and stir fried jjamppong. The noodle soups had a lot of seafood from clams, mussels, and shrimp. On the side was pickled radish and kimchi which I loved to eat and were very crunchy to go with the noodles and pork. The seafood they used wasn't the greatest quality but provided lots of seafood flavor for the broth. Tangsuyuk was perfectly crispy and the aroma of the breading was in the air and made me sooo hungry! It was great paired well with the sweet and sour sauce. . Service took awhile too, but again, the portion sizes are very good. The service from the ladies in the front were so sweet and funny, I definitely enjoyed my experience here! They have a nice recognition displayed on the wall from the House of Representatives which is pretty neat! Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Jjin Jjajang and enjoyed the classic dishes they had to offer!

I called and placed a to go order from here and it was ready for pick up within 15 minutes. Super easy experience ordering and getting my food. I did get pretty lucky with parking though because there's a lot right out in front but it isn't very big Stir-fried jjajangmyeon: 4/5 pretty solid and I liked that it came with the sides. If you are thinking of getting handmade dumplings as other people posted the pictures, do not order it. It just regular korean style dumplings, that you can get at the market. I wish they had picture or clairfy the yelp review or pictures most updated item. read more

Ordered the stir fried Jjajang and Tangsuyuk. The portion of the platter jjajang was about the same as a regular jjajang--very misleading compared to the picture. As for the taste... I honestly couldn't tell, since I kept spitting out crushed mussel shells that were mixed in. The tangsuyuk is made with chicken by default, and you have to pay extra to switch to pork. It was extremely tough, some pieces had double layers of batter, and a few even had a fishy smell. Overall, very disappointing for the price. read more

Must order the jjajjangmyan black bean noodles. It's delicious flavoring and the noodle itself is slurp worthy. The shrimp was good but overpriced. Same for the fried rice. Limited seating inside like 6 tables. Limited parking less than 10 spots in its own small parking lot. Would definitely go back for the noodles! Service was quick and kind. read more

The chicken fried rice is pretty good. Comes with complementary sides. I especially like the (what I believe) is soy paste, as it adds flavor to the chicken. I normally dislike kimchi, but the soup was tasty - just the right amount of astringency. Soda is served by can. Homey vibe. read more
Ordered the regular jjampong, white jjampong and kampong shrimp. The broth of both the jjampongs were full of flavor (seafood broth). Lots of mussels, clams, squid, crab and vegetables. The kampong shrimp came out hot and straight from the wok. Good crunch, not too sweet and lots of flavor. Service could have been better tho. Waitress only came by once in the beginning and had to call them over towards the end. Will be coming back again read more

New Favorite Spot for Korean-Chinese Cuisine! I thought Los Angeles had the best Korean-Chinese food, but this place proved me wrong! Every dish I tried was seasoned perfectly and absolutely on point. The kkanpoong shrimp was my favorite--just the right amount of spice without being overpowering. The mapo tofu paired perfectly with fried rice, and the black bean noodles stood out because they were stir-fried with seafood, which is something I haven't seen often at other restaurants. The ambience is fresh and upbeat since the place is relatively new. The open kitchen is impressively clean, which is always a good sign. Inside dining is limited, but it never felt overly crowded. This is definitely my new go-to spot for Korean-Chinese food, and I wouldn't mind waiting 30 minutes to an hour to eat here again. Highly recommend! read more
My first time coming here after it being highly recommended to me by locals. For the price point, this is such a steal! I shared this with one other person, and we still had leftovers. I added a couple of spoons of the spicy soup from a friends bowl, and it was the perfect amount of spice for me. I love that they aren't skimping on the noodles, veggies, nor meat. It has already been the second visit this week after my friend and I found out about this place! Their jjajangmyeon and jjamppong were just too delicious for us not to come back! The service was quick! There were not much seating areas so I am glad we came in a less busy time. Definitely recommend anyone who has some jjajangmyeon cravings while watching kdrama ! read more

I've passed by this jjajangmyeon spot in Buena Park so many times on Beach but finally gave it a try after a random craving hit. It was surprisingly empty during lunch time so we were seated right away. The jjajangmyeon was excellent--chewy noodles, rich, flavorful black bean sauce, and an average portion. I also tried the mapo tofu, which had a nostalgic taste and came in a large portion, and the tangsuyuk, which had a satisfying crunch and was just as big. Prices are on the higher side, but the taste and portions make up for it. Will be back to try the galbi jjamppong! read more

I don't remember out door seating when I went there. Maybe two tables were outside. Everyone was eating inside when I went there.

What's the flavor difference between the regular red jjamppong and the spicy white jjamppong?
The white jjamppong is more mild in taste and you can taste the seafood more. It's also more soupy (watery) than the red jjamppong. The red jjamppong has thicker/spicier sauce. Hope that helps.
