Important note: This is not the Yuchun you may be thinking of from Koreatown LA. Do not expect the same food or service. Yuchun in Buena Park is essentially a Korean food court-style restaurant, the kind you'd typically find inside a Korean plaza. It's not a sit-down restaurant with premium dishes, so it's best to come in with the right expectations. Honestly, if it had a different name, I think it would do much better -- the name sets the bar much higher than what's actually offered here. The setup is standard food court style: order at the counter, take a beeper, wait for it to ring, and return your tray when you're done. So far, we've tried the Chic Bibim Naeng Myun and the Kimchi Wang Mandu. Both were fine -- nothing mind-blowing, but solid for a quick meal. I'd come back if I needed something fast before or after shopping at H Mart. Food comes out quickly, the inside is clean, and there's even a Coway water dispenser with hot and cold water, which is a nice touch. Overall, decent for what it is -- just make sure you know what you're walking into.

Self serve. Hits the spot -- would recommend their naengmyeon. Very friendly and fast service. Hope they get more business.

This is my favorite Korean hidden gem. Iv been coming here since around 2021 and they never disappoint. The customer service is excellent and if you love spicy food they will make it EXTRA spicy per your request. I only order the Yukgaejang soup because it's my favorite Korean soup and after all these years I never change my order. I appreciate the relaxed atmosphere as well. I was able to enjoy my food peacefully. Definitely try this spot out if you're looking for top quality Korean food.

Review 27/365 challenge 1st timer here for lunch on a Friday afternoon with my mama friend 3.14.25 She's been here a lot of times and recommended it. Was gonna go to Sup Noodles originally next door. How did i ever miss this restaurant. Come to this plaza often especially to SUP Noodles, Piak Noodles & 85 degrees which is located next to it. What we ordered Dolpan bibimbab $ 19.49 Came in a stone pot, How i like my bibambap served. Full of veggies and beef along with rice. The banchans that is served with was diakon & regular Napa kimchi along w steamed bean sprouts Banchan. Highly recommended. Service was fast and received food in a timely manner. You go and order the food & pay 1st. You're given a buzzer to retrieve your food when it's ready. When you're done w your dishes. You bring back the tray along w the bowls to a stainless steel 3 tier shelves next to the fridge with the can drinks/sodas. It's a standard size restaurant. Not too big with outdoor Patio for dining, Lots of parking available. Same plaza as Hmart supermarket.

I mean talk about authentic delicious food! I wanted to get everything off the menu! The cold noodles were delicious and tasty! The dumplings were also delicious! The bulgogi was amazing! You order first and are given a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready! They have tables inside to sit at or you can sit in the common outside area. We decided to sit inside! After you are done, you bring your tray and dishes to the designated area. The bathroom was clean! The staff was friendly! I can't wait to come back!

Been wanting to come to Yuchun for a long time and their Naengmyeon lived up to the hype! The broths of both had great flavor and were so icy and refreshing! Each came with lots of veggies which gave great texture to the dishes!

This place does not compare with LA location. Its very disappointing . No side dishes unless you order something other than cold noodles. No free soup like la location. The noodle was ok. The noodle soup was not good. Lots of msg. Its self serve. Do with what you will with this info. As for me, its a NO. Will not come back

As others have said, this location does not compare to the one in K Town. To start, the free broth is served to you with your food and not self serve, which is fine, but it was undrinkable. Tasted like a cheap powdery version with little to no flavor. It was really what I was looking forward to, so terribly disappointed. That said, the other dishes we tried were pretty good. Cold noodles and galbi combo was pretty good. They were out of the tofu soup, so tried the spicy beef soup per the lady's recommendation. Soup was good, but the beef was not the shredded type I am used to. Was in small rectangular pieces and very tough. Service was very friendly, but we were the only ones there on a Monday evening around 6pm. Would I go back? Maybe if in the area, but not worth going out of your way IMO.

    Ask the Community - Yuchun

Is this the same Yuchun from LA?

Is it possible to get low salt dishes here? I have high blood pressure and so much of the korean food is delicious but too salty!

Some of the dishes can be made with less salt and some of them don't have salt. It just depends on which dish you choose.

Do they have the self service hot broth station?

    Yes

Is this the same as the Yu Chun in LA?

    Yes

Are the servers nice? NO! Is the price decent? NO! Here's my reasoning: I used to bring my grandfather here because he loved their soup. If I didn't bring him I would buy the galbi tang and take it to him. And back then the service was amazing, the ajummas were so nice and would get you extra servings of banchan and brisket sauce but sadly throughout the years they've become very stingy and just plain out rude. I understand the cost of inflation and it's very real but I used to get their galbi tang for less than $10. At this rate it's costing me $27 for a bowl of soup and no extra gimme with not even a smile. Will I still be back? Yes but not like before. With the competition out here there are other places to go but I do keep coming back. Oh what's a girl to do. Will I recommend this place? That's a hard NO.

The interior is clean, newly built, and has a modern Korean hanok-style look. The servers were also friendly both times, so I didn't have any issues with the service or atmosphere. Unfortunately, the main problem for me was the food. I've eaten at the LA location before and never really thought the food tasted bad there, but at this Buena Park location, both visits gave me the impression that the food didn't taste as fresh as it should. On my most recent visit, I ordered the soondae gukbap, and the soondae had an unpleasant off smell and didn't taste very fresh. It almost tasted like it had been sitting for a while. On my first visit, I tried the regular pork gukbap, and the pork flavor was also stronger than I personally prefer. I do tend to like cleaner-tasting gukbap, but this stood out to me because I don't remember having the same issue at the LA location. After the first visit, I thought maybe it was just an off day since the restaurant was still new. But after having a similar impression on my second visit, I'm not sure if this location is consistent yet. The space is nice and the service was good, but for a gukbap restaurant, the food has to be the main reason to come back. Based on my two visits, this location was disappointing for me.

But since I moved out of LA, it's so inconvenient to get to. Enter Kyung Bok Kung -- what a find. I can get a fine dining korean bbq experience conveniently. I've been here a number of times, and this review reflects the few times I've been there. It's become the goto spot to take people from out of town who are visiting and want a Kbbq experience. Things I immediately noticed - lots of white and grey teslas in the parking lot during lunch - you know what that means? Golf Koreans. Yup. Go inside and you'll see incredibly well dressed older retired people with their buddies chatting up in private cubicles. Beautiful decor. It's like the background setting of a korean drama where there's a close-up of the guy and the girl - they're about to say something really serious to each other. The camera does a wide angle shot of them - and this is the restaurant it's shot in. Price points - this place isn't cheap, but they have incredibly good deals on a weekday lunch (cold noodles and meat set). Their dinner set course meals are priced around what you would expect from a quality steak house. This place is not as pricey as AB steak or Cote, but you're getting just as quality. Food - I've had the lunch set meals, the bbq grilled course, and ordered à la carte. One thing is for sure - they don't miss. I never had a 9 budda plate until I came here, but apparently it's like a thing that royals ate during the monarchy days. It was like a korean vegetarian taco. Very intricate (and slightly annoying) to put together but delicious - and a great test of your chopstick skills. Their braised beef (galbijjim) from their lunch set intersects savory, sweet, and tenderness in a way that only Korean grandmas do. I'm not a huge fan of Wagyu beef (just too rich and can never feel after eating it), but I have never felt that way coming out of here. Go here at night if you want to impress someone or celebrate something. Go here during lunch if you want a fantastic meal and want to see what the best korean food can taste like but don't want to break the bank.
