    Buckwheat noodle

If you want to have the best tasting soondae, you've got to go to Abbaee Wang Soondae. It's a small restaurant but the food is authentic and delicious. My party loved the buckwheat noodle, spicy jokbal, gamjatang, and bossam! They were so good too but the chapsal soondae was our favorite. If you order online through DoorDash, even for pick up, the price is almost 2x the price. Call the restaurant directly to order a pickup for the menu price.

Small Korean place that's kinda cozy but super casual. Lots of people coming in and out for pickup orders, which makes it hard to enjoy dining in tbh. Gets pretty busy at the counter! Been here twice for their soondae (Korean blood sausage). The assorted soondae plate is really good - nice chewy texture and they make it fresh. Love how they add veggies! Also tried their spicy pork Makchang but wasn't a fan. The sauce was too sweet and the pork smell was slightly off. Parking's easy since it's in a small strip mall. Will definitely order their Soondae again!

If you're on the hunt for authentic Korean cuisine, this unassuming Soondae spot is an absolute gem. Atmosphere: Nothing fancy, just a cozy spot with ample seating. Perfect for a chill meal with friends. Food: The Soondae is the real deal--packed with authentic flavors. Sides like kimchi and ggakdugi complement it well. One of the rare places to offer gogi soondae on top of your traditional chapssal soondae so it's truly an experience. They also gave us a free side of soup as well as service! Service: Friendly and efficient, the staff here knows their Soondae inside out. Similar service one would get at any immigrant-owned place. Value: Reasonable prices for the quality and quantity you receive. You won't break the bank here, which is a welcome surprise considering the authenticity and flavor-packed offerings.

The perfect mom and pop shop for soondae. I find it really hard to come across good authentic soondae shops, however, I will always be coming back here. I have been coming to this shop since childhood, and they have never failed to impress me with their amazing quality and great service. Such a great place to go especially during the colder months, as it is such a heartwarming dish. They have a large variety on their menu, and many side dishes that come with each dish. I highly recommend the chapssal soondae!!

Abbaee's was a decent grab of korean food. They specialize in soondae, but also serve up some other menu items like cold noodles (which was okay). I recommend buying the staple item of a restaurant that has the name of the menu on it (soondae). Parking is plentiful, seating is plentiful!

Jokbal - Large Size (already ate a few slices before taking the pic) loved every bite

This is a good place to go when you want to satisfy your craving for some jokbal. Any korean living in oc knows it's kind of hard to find a decent place that sells good jokbal. I'd say Abbaee Wang Soondae is an acception. Try it!

Best Soon Dae in OC. Soon Dae, Soondae gook, and Jokbal is both legit. Soondae is chewy and soft in texture and flavorful.

I have tried abbaee soondae about 30 years ago in Korea. And I feel it is almost same taste. I will go back. Just little bit pricey for me.

Def try their muscat makgeolli too, my fav rice wine. The pancake was crispy and good for sharing. The pork belly was flavorful with a good amount of roasted garlic and kimchi to pair. LOVE their complimentary barley raisen tree tea! SERVICE Service was excellent. We came as a large group on a Friday night and gave them a heads up. When our party arrived, they put together a bunch of tables to accommodate everyone inside. Outdoor seating also had shade which was nice as an alternative. Would recommend coming here for a good time with drinks and yummy Korean food esp with larger groups!

Also, the speakers are placed directly next to some of the tables, and the music is extremely loud if you are seated near them. I don't understand why the speakers are positioned so close to the customers. They should be placed farther away from the dining tables. The music is so loud that it feels more like a nightclub than a restaurant. Customers come here to enjoy their food and have conversations with friends and family, not to dance. The music should be kept at a reasonable volume so everyone can enjoy their meal and have a pleasant conversation.

The food was excellent. We had Korean BBQ, several traditional Korean side dishes, a Korean-style stew, and enjoyed some soju and beer together. The meat was very good quality, and having the staff help grill everything at the table made the experience even better. What impressed me most was the service. The staff were extremely attentive and professional throughout the evening. They helped cook the meat, changed our plates regularly, and quietly took care of all the little details without ever making us feel rushed. It was a warm and memorable evening with great food, great service, and great company. I would definitely love to come back again on my next visit.

I called them to see if we can walk in 50 min before closing, no one answered but I got a text message back right away; they said they'll seat us but last call is in 20 minutes. Our server said she was the person that we texted before arrival. Since they were closing soon we decided to not grill and ordered 4 dishes for our party of 4 adults and 1 child: braised short rib, galbitang with abalone, marinated galbi box, and cold buckwheat noodles. I planned to check out the restaurant for their weekday lunch special of naengmyeon with boneless short rib, but decided to go for dinner with my family to celebrate a birthday and try more dishes. I asked our server if we ordered everything that would've been in the lunch special, and she said we did not get boneless short rib which is different from the braised short rib. So we got the naengmyeon with boneless short rib combo instead of only naengmyeon. We also said that we're celebrating a birthday (which was mentioned in the text message to her too), so she said they have a special plate for birthdays. All the dishes were served together. I realized the naengmyeon combo's boneless short rib was the same as the marinated galbi in the galbi box; slight difference was the boneless short rib was leaner and overcooked compared to the marinated galbi that was fattier, but the marinade was the same so I wished we only got noodles and not the combo. The staff asked if we wanted the noodles cut, but I wanted to take a photo of it first so she didn't cut it. Because we waited to eat the cold noodles after trying the hot dishes, they clumped together, were hard, and didn't taste good (lesson learned; eat them immediately when served). The braised short ribs and galbitang with abalone were delicious. The abalone was soft. The braised short ribs were expectedly a smaller portion since it costs less than galbijjim elsewhere so I'm happy I got to try a few pieces and have room for other dishes. There was a bowl of seaweed soup with ice so we thought that was the birthday gift, but it was cold and vinegary so we didn't enjoy it. At the end of the meal a different server brought out the cinnamon tea and our check; the tea was sweet and delicious. We stayed 15-20 min after they closed, but there was another party that also just finished dining. I later looked on Yelp and found out that for birthdays they give a hot seaweed soup, and they confirmed through text that it's a hot seaweed soup and not the cold one that we had (which might've been part of the banchan). So the birthday meal would've been perfect with the hot seaweed soup.
