This is my go-to spot whenever it's raining or cold outside. Their Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) has such a clean and refreshing flavor, and the spicy chicken stew is just as delicious. We usually order the Bossam, Jokbal (both regular and spicy), and the duck meat, and they are consistently great. Today, we tried the Kalguksu (noodle soup) for the first time, and it was very delicious. The service is always friendly and welcoming, and the food is prepared so neatly. However, having been an OC local for some time with some time in Buena Park at least, I can attest that their Naengmyeon is indeed comforting without falling victim to blandness or texture that "just seems off." My wife and mother in law was feeling a bit under the weather after a bridal shower so we're in the area and I found this place on Yelp. There's ample of parking as it's in a shopping plaza. But as time elapsed, more people showed and it started to get packed but it's a fairly big restaurant so there's enough tables to accommodate[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We ordered the ginseng chicken soup w medicinal herbs and ginseng chicken and abalone porridge. They both felt the flavor was blend and lacking and ended up taking both entrees to go so they can make it better at home. My wife did ask about the chicken whether it was tender or dry and she felt the chicken was tender. The waitress did not bring the side dishes until the food arrived which we thought was odd considering all of the other Korean restaurants we've been to always bring it way before your main dish arrives but my wife and mother in law did not like any of them as they felt they were too salty. So automatically I thought that would be their specialty but further looking through the menu we quickly realized that ... there were MANY specialties at this restaurant and that isn't BAD-- they are just good at everything. We ordered COMBO 2 - Medium smoked duck plate+ Braised pork belly + soybean soup + steamed egg ($95) everything was decent. Nothing stood out to be bad but nothing stood out to be great. Good food. I ordered the clam stone pot bibimbap and side of clam soup - I wasn't sure it was worth being advertised as their specialty. It was good but it wasn't "WOW THIS IS A MUST AT THIS RESTUARANT" The soup is under seasoned but it does bring out the unique clam flavor. I live in LA so this restaurant wouldn't be a must visit when I'm in town but if I lived close by it would be somewhere I'd go when I want a variety of choices. I have been driving by this restaurant for many years and have always thought of visiting to try the food. A friend suggested to meet here and I was glad we had picked this restaurant. We ordered the seafood pancake (this was recommended by a fellow yelper), buckwheat noodles with vegetables, and grilled squid on hot stone plate. We were served banchan (side dishes) while our order was bein prepared. All the banchan were quite tasty, but some of it was a bit salty for my taste. The seafood pancake did not disappoint! The crust was crisp and the seafood tender and flavorful. Not too much batter nor green onions. I strongly recommend it. =) The grilled squid on hot stone plate was very good too. The sauce was slightly on the sweet side for me but enough spicy heat to make the taste just right. The buckwheat noodles with vegetables were not as good as I expected, and I do not recommend it personally. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice too. Decided to visit Dine Korean Restaurant after our fun Sunday Adventure and this restaurant didn't disappoint. We ordered several dishes and ate family style. We ordered the Large order of Bossam, spicy beef soup, seafood pancake and steamed egg. Our favorite items were the seafood pancake and spicy beef soup. The seafood pancake was cooked to perfection. It was crunchy and they were very generous with the seafood and green onion. The spicy beef soup had the right amount of spice and it was not very heavy. We loved that this restaurant gave a great variety of side dishes. Our favorite was the stir fry seaweed, broccoli with crumbled tofu, and rolled omelet. What a solid traditional Korean restaurant! Buena Park has turned into the next Koreatown--similar to that of LA--many of the Korean restaurants are Korean in nature but still lean more towards being hipster and trendy to. Here, they stick to the traditional/mom's cooking-type Korean dishes. They offer dishes such as galbi jjim (braised beef short ribs with potato and rice cake), bossam (broiled sliced pork) with pickled spicy radish kimchi and a bean paste dip, ssam bab (meat choices of pork or beef) that comes with a vegetable platter consisting of lettuce wedges, sliced raw garlic and jalapeño, perilla leaf, cucumbers, and carrots, as well as many other traditional Korean dishes. By far, this place has one of the best galbi jjim that I have tasted thus far. The broth of this dish was superb and so nolstagic! I ended up dumping my rice into this broth--that's how good! As far as the other dishes that I ordered (broiled sliced pork and bean paste stew), they were solid but not as reminiscent. Now hear me out. I heard this place served Chinese-style "malatang" (~$50) and I wanted to try it out. As you may have surmised, it IS the spicy, numb-inducing soup you've seen ad nauseam on social media. ( As of this review, there are no pics of this menu item in yelp) This restaurant serves this dish "jungol" style which literally translates to hot pot. It should be shared with multiple people, but I won't judge. It's a huge dish as you can see from my pics. The flavor is actually good. I may be an outlier, but I'd rather have a little more of the numbing, but for first timers, this is a valid entry. I'm good with spice and this has a serious kick. There is plenty of meat and veggies. I went with some big boys and we each needed two bowls of rice. Keep in mind they charge you per bowl. The food was good, however be careful who you talk to. We were enjoying our food, and we ordered plenty of food during lunch time - over $100 worth for only 3 people. Asked for a refill on the side dishes once and the lady completely insulted us, and said that we were eating too much and bothering her by asking for more banchan. She has short hair (like a bob) and wears eye glasses. However, there was a lady with eye glasses and a ponytail who was kind and offered nice service. We arrived just before the dinner rush hour! We ordered combo 2 and the main proteins were smoked duck and pork belly. So many good banchans were provided like pajeon and kkakdugi. There was soybean stew and a giant pot of steamed eggs. The smoked belly was served room temperature and the pork belly was served hot. We were also provide a tray of lettuce, cabbage, sesame leaves and another tray of dressed chive salad. The duck was slightly salty but worked so well with the spicy chive salad. Dip it in a bit of honey mustard and it's perfection. The assortment of kimchi banchan also worked well the the pork belly - just wrap a little bit of everything in lettuce. Service was alright since it started to get busy and there were only two servers. Our server was sweet and still spoke to us in Korean even though my friend and I don't speak lol. Typical Korean restaurant with good food and chill vibes. We were sat immediately on a Tuesday night and it wasn't busy, just a couple families. We ordered a bunch of food and it actually came out really fast. We ordered the bossam (pork belly) and they brought out this burner with this pink gel stuff that they lit on fire to keep the bossam warm. The steamed egg was really good - they put sesame seeds into the mixture which added an extra little nutty taste which was interesting. The spicy marinated pork was also delicious, and the combo with the soybean stew was good (more watery like soup than stew though). So my son turned 26 today and it was his choice. He's very much into the Korean food culture and was tired of the typical Korean bbq. Through some research and the type of food he was looking for, Yelp lead us to Dine Korean Restaurant. We went for an early dinner to beat the crowd. Definitely no waiting to be seated and service was excellent. Only a little bit of a language barrier but we got through it. We pretty much knew what we were going to order so that didn't take long at all. The food came out and it literally took every inch of space on the table. To keep it somewhat short, everything we ordered was delicious and everything we expected as a food adventure. It was pig heaven. From the Pigs feet to the pork belly and also an order of the smoked duck, it was all worth it.
