When the power came back on after an outage, there was no water. The shallow well pump was running, but the water pressure gauge read zero. I spent many hours over 5 days trying to get the water back, but couldn't get the pump to hold a prime. I finally called JKA Well Drilling & Pumps. As a co- business owner myself for 30 years I understand the difficulty in maintaining great staff and being responsive and competitive with the market. That said, nothing excuses the rude way you ended your call. There would have been many ways you could have explained your policy that a client could understand but you chose to think what's in it for yourself instead of doing your best for a customer I'm sure not all your jobs are $8-10,000 or possibly more jobs and am also sure that you get many that are a few hundred. No one is guaranteed they get chosen every time in any field of endeavor but most confident business people are not afraid of losing a contract to someone else or explaining while perhaps if it's money by giving a good reason why they might be more expensive so they are the winning bid. I said I could email you the plans which would certainly have cut your time down I'm happy to say other companies took it upon themselves to offer 3 different scenarios each increasing in price depending on how much they did I've spoken to each of the other well owners and they were unanimous. They aren't interested in doing business with you either -- so everyone is happy Thank you for taking the time to respond but there was nothing in your email that convinced us to give you another chance. JKA installed a pump for our community well sometime ago and while it was still under warranty, the pump failed. Granted, the labor was no longer under warranty, but they told us that they were busy and couldn't honor the pump's warranty until sometime in September. That means that we would have to wait between three and seven weeks to get it replaced! I wouldn't recommend this company unless you are willing to wait a month for water when you have a problem with the products they install. read more

JKA drilled a new well for our community system in east King County. We had a 35 year old water source serving 8 homes that over the years slowed to a point of not being able to keep up any longer. With a community system it was complicated, but JKA was great in pointing us in the right direction to get necessary permits and engineering in place. They were clear on requirements, paperwork and lead us through the project. Their online estimation, approval and payment process is easy enough to work with too. Knowing we were running out of water they prioritized our project. Once we had State and County permission to drill, they were there within days. The team worked through a challenging drill operation (deep drill, lots of rock and tight drilling quarters) and got it done for us quickly. We are happy to finally be over our water shortages...our new system seems reliable and efficient. JKA was also responsive in fixing a few other mechanical and plumbing issues before this big job - it was not the first time we called them and we would definitely call them again should the need arise. Their team members are courteous, informative and seem well experienced at what they do. For other well repairs...previously I had called upon a few other companies in the area (which will not be named in this review) that I will never call again. I would say JKA is definitely on the list for someone to call when there's a problem or when you want the job done right, they stand behind their work too. read more

My well pump stopped working this morning and they had a guy out before noon to look at it. Turned out to be the pump control box and he didn't have the one I needed. One of his guys (Rich) on the way home on Friday afternoon in his personal vehicle came and installed it so I wouldn't have to wait until Monday. I got three quotes. JKA was a bit higher but by far the best value on all aspects. "Well" worth the slightly higher price. I'm not just a customer but also an engineer that's very knowledgeable with water systems, chemistry and regulatory issues. One of my clients used JKA before me and is very happy with them too. JKA is knowledgeable, thorough, well organized, professional, courteous, honest and good quality. Based on my neighbor's experience with a different driller, I thought my well would be over 200 feet to get over 20 gpm. JKA honestly let me know when they hit water at 55 feet, got more than 20 gpm shortly thereafter, the geology they were in and drilled to its end at my request. With a single screen I got 60 gpm at 120 feet and came in under JKA's quote! I encountered the one negative reviewer's issue with JKA's web contact. An extremely minor part of their total business that is no longer an issue. That review should be removed. JKA has excellent on-line communications for contact, quotes, scheduling, on-going communications and payment. For practical reasons, well drillers quote the drilling first and pump/controls separately afterwards. My only suggestion to JKA is they inform novices of this upfront and provide a second phase, non-binding estimate with their initial drilling quote. As a business owner myself, the second quote may be a surprise to some customers not experienced with well systems. read more

First off, I am not a customer of JKA Well Drilling. I live in Eastern WA and am in the middle of having my well re-drilled by another company. Because of the nature of my well and pump depth (680 feet) there were a lot of unknowns going on. I was really nervous about being taken advantage of so I called JKA to get some second opinions/consulting. Pierce was amazing to deal with and returned my calls throughout the day and took his time to make sure I understood what my contractor was telling me was accurate. I am so grateful for everything and feel so much better about this situation because of the way I was treated by a company that wasn't even doing the work. I would recommend this company to anyone. All drilling companies are busy and for them to be so dedicated to someones else's customer, is dedication and exceptional customer service. read more

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!!! I will admit that in my frustration I chose this company and accepted the bid without getting three quotes. I have since found out that I WAY WAY over paid. They also came on work day with the lead guy having a really crappy attitude. He urinated on the side of my shop and lied to his boss that I "must have seen him trying to zip his pants"....all I can say is I know what it looks like when I watch a stream of pee coming out of a grown man 200 feet from my window. They destroyed our front yard with their trucks and left a huge hole open with the promise to come complete the job on a Friday because "that is their day to follow up on unfinished projects". Two weeks later I had to follow up only be to sold on all the reasons that I didn't actually want that part finished and left to fill in the whole myself. When I complained to the company I was accused of trying to "threaten them in the hope of getting a $100 discount" after spending over $11,000 to replace my well pump and filtration system. Yes, you read that correctly....$11,000!!! JKA will sell you the moon and the stars, deliver poor customer service then walk away from the details knowing that you only have one well and won't need them for over a decade. Very short sighted. I completely expect them to try to excuse away their behavior and my feedback. But keep in mind, my bill has been paid, the work has been done and I have ZERO to gain by giving honest negative feedback. Before you listen to their excuses ask yourself if you are really willing to pay huge amounts of money only to find yourself wishing you had listened to actual customer feedback. Horrible service. Needed a well inspection for a house I put an offer on. Got a referal from my agent. Had well inspection done. waited for well inspection. never recieved it. I sent emails, and phone calls with voicemails for over a week. My agent finally got a hold of him (probally avoiding my Ph. number) He claimed that he sent the inspection results and is not sure why I didnt recieve it. To top things off he lost my check (confirmed with him) and deposited it over a month later. Called him about the lost check. and he seems to think that its not a big deal. Avoid him like the plague. read more
